  • The Brahmatal Trek is a sought-after winter trekking expedition located in the breathtaking Indian state of Uttarakhand, in the Chamoli district. It typically spans a duration of about six days and presents a moderate level of difficulty, culminating at an impressive maximum altitude of approximately 12,150 feet (3,700 meters).
    A defining feature of this trek is the tranquil and frozen Brahmatal Lake, gracefully encased in snow during the winter months. Trekkers are treated to magnificent views of prominent peaks such as Trishul, Nanda Ghunti, Chaukhamba, and more, as well as the opportunity to traverse through dense rhododendron forests adorned with vibrant red and pink blossoms during the spring season.     The proposed itinerary for the Brahmatal Trek is meticulously structured as follows:
    - Day 1: Commence the journey from Kathgodam to Lohajung, with an overnight stay in Lohajung.
    - Day 2: Embark on a trek from Lohajung to Bekaltal, covering approximately 8 km over a duration of about 5-6 hours. Camp near the picturesque Bekaltal Lake.
    - Day 3: Trek from Bekaltal to the enchanting Brahmatal, spanning a distance of 7 km and taking around 5-6 hours to complete. Camp near the captivating Brahmatal Lake.
    - Day 4: Ascend to Brahmatal Top, covering a distance of 3 km in approximately 2-3 hours, before descending to Khorurai (6 km, around 4-5 hours). Camp at the scenic Khorurai location.
    - Day 5: Trek back to Lohajung, with the journey taking about 4-5 hours. Overnight stay in Lohajung.
    - Day 6: Return journey from Lohajung to Kathgodam.
    Winter, particularly from December to February, is the optimum period for individuals who revel in snow-filled landscapes, making it the perfect time to undertake the Brahmatal Trek.
