Jungkook went on Mask Singer to also show that BTS could also sing and not just rap, his cover of If You is one of the most loved and popular that he did! The reason why the Rainism cover has so many views is because till this day its one of the most iconic covers in kpop, it went extremely viral because of Jungkook!! He’s the best center and his stage presence and charisma is insane! He owned that stage and deserved to be the main focus and singer for this! Also his vocals in Perfect Man are incredible and he was shining so much in As I told You, the other members were so right for praising him so much🤍

Jungkook had turned 18 , 20 is Korean age. 💜 If You is a big bang song i think and they have very different voices that make a longish song interesting. Jungkook makes it incredible all alone. Some videos go viral with kpop fans and or gp. Rainism is an iconic song and this cover was incredible. The charisma, the vocals. Recently JK seven encore vid at Korean tv show went viral and has almost 10 million views, and most are not ARMY.

Ya’ll don’t understand how many minds were changed because of perfect man. I don’t know about anyone else but when this came out my perception of Jimin was changed forever. He was always a great dancer, very cute and hot obviously but my god the perfect man cover really showed how he could shine and how absolutely flawless he could be on stage. Reminder that this was 2015 and we had approximately one solo stage of him doing contemporary for butterfly by this point because they rarely touched on contemporary before the end of 2015, this was really a game changer.

It’s so hard to explain when Jimin has solo albums and solo songs and dance pieces that are beautiful now but back then we had hip hop BTS and then when hyyh came around we got to see some new things and perfect man was so… man just so good. I think the industries perception of Jimin changed too. Everyone was mentioning this cover at that time!

Hard to believe JK was only 20 at this time. (19 in international age I believe.) JK said he did this to promote BTS. This performance was pretty darn pitch perfect and that little vocal trill that he did was amazing .

All of these covers are iconic for many reasons. Jk's appearance on _Masked Singer_ proved that he is an amazing vocalist and he changed the perspective of "idols can't sing". Same with _Rainism_ ; Jk wasn't holding back and unleashed all of his charisma and charm. He came there to slay, and that's exactly what he did. Jimin went viral cause of his iconic red hair, dancing, vocals, and also the jacket removal, lol. RM's duet still lives in my mind rent free. I am a simp for his husky tone, and the way he immersed himself in this performance. V's facial expressions, Jin's elegant charisma and aura, Hobi's dancing, Suga's swag and coolness - everything comes together so perfectly. All of them are so dedicated to what they do, and you'll never catch them slacking.

I love JK's deeper voice. I hope we hear more of that at some point. Of course his head voice and falsetto are beautiful, but his deeper chest voice is so sexy. 😊 Same with Jimin. 💜 And, omg, when Jimin and JK growl, and those leather pants? It's almost too much to handle 😂
I agree with Hobi and RM on these performances. I always rewatch live performances multiple times, with my focus on different member each time. But I literally could not keep my eyes off of JK every time.
We are deprived of so much of jungkooks range bc the other vocalists have one main style and range that they tend to stick to predominantly… jungkook is very versatile so he kinda fills in wherever the others are not… but yeh it’s so sad to miss his gorgeous more natural and deeper tone … especially with the rasp.. but he’s also in the middle of the range while the others are higher and lower so works for them to do it like that for everyone
Wow. I loved RM’s cover of umbrella, it’s such a delicate rap, perfect to go with the woman’s part. He could have completely overwhelmed her but his part meshed. That took so much skill! I have absolutely no idea how they danced so energetically with all that hockey gear on 🤣 And Jimin in Perfect Man! He really stands out, hard to take my eyes off him.

Even crazier is that the woman doing a duet with RM was actually a fan!! That show was so cool because it brought artists on and then they got to choose from fan auditions someone to bring on the show and do a duet with and perform against other artists and fans
RM's duet with Yuiko on that Umbrella song lives in my mind all the time along with JK's soft voice in If You
I always go back to listening to umbrella, both of them, Namjoon and Yuiko sang transmitting the emotions of the song. I loved it ❤
In my opinion, the views on Rainism cover has to do with t the fact that army loves watching BTS perform. They did great, especially with Jungkook's solo part.

For the Masked Singer performance, the clip you reacted to was put out later and doesn’t include the unmasking. The original clip with unmasking was fun: everyone was shocked. LoL… i fell into the BTS rabbit hole via this song performance
For Umbrella: The lady singing is Japanese and not a professional singer. RM chose her amongst the possible partners on the show and she came over from Japan. She worked so hard to sing in Korean.
The other covers you watched are iconic. There are a few clips of Shinee reacting to the Perfect Man performance.

One of my first memories as a kpop fan was watching bts perform perfect man and then finding a video of SHINee reacting to the performance from the audience lol Their reactions were so cute and wholesome that I knew I had to look them up and listen to their music.
btw, Jimin's fancam during Perfect Man went viral and for a minute he was known as "the orange haired one" because BTS members were not well known yet to Korean public

I got to see them live last year! They are still touring, and at small enough venues I will be able to see them every time they come to town. They rocked so hard for over 40s.😅

When I first started getting into BTS, I mean barely knew them, like I knew their names, but was very very new, I watched a vid of JK on the Masked Singer for the solo one (If You). The vid I watched didn't have his name in the title. I watched the vid and starting thinking, "That sounds like Jungkook", then started laughing at myself because I felt like there was no way I knew BTS well enough at that point to know their voices. I was sure I was mistaken and was going to laugh more when I saw a different person. So, when JK revealed himself I LOST IT! "How can I recognize his voice already?!" You are so right that he has a recognizable voice!
12:30 Until that time, They just got released Fire, and They didn't show up many on tv program. So many ppl only watch Their title tracks and his singing a little verses with dance. (Most of 'hip hop-ish' songs) So there are a lot of people who have never seen most people sing the whole song only in his voice. It can be very possible.

These covers are so good, but Perfect Man + As I Told You are my personal favs 😭 Btw, Yoongi wasn’t present for Rainism or As I Told You stages because he accidentally tripped on a door and got his ear quite injured :/ It was around late 2016 and the year-end shows. And Namjoon wasn't part of the Perfect Man cover because in 2015 he got injured right before they performed it 😫

These are old old kpop songs by kpop senior groups that the boys were covering as a junior group. According to my age, these should be my kpop generation (generation 1 and 2), but I don't like kpop, so didn't get sucked into kpop until BTS' Dynamite in 2020 😂 and 3rd - 5th gen kpop is definitely more my style musically. These are ICONIC performances!

1 more comment lol 35:38 the story of this song is a sad one. This was the first and only solo song done by Kim sungjae in the 90s. I won't go into deep detail but he unfortunately passed away after I believe it was his first performance of this song. He was unalived by his girlfriend (or at least it's speculated that she unalived him)

I loved this reaction video. I'm sad to say I've avoided BTS videos for a while. I'm a bad fan, I know. I've loved them since 2016 and them going into the military made me sad so I just reverted back into listening to Metal unintentionally which is what I listened to before BTS took over my life. Thank you for this video....watching it made me happy, not sad....so now I'm wondering what the hell I've been running from. I hope you do more of these videos. I’ve watched the Jimin fancam of Perfect Man about a million times. They all did great, but there are certain songs or performances that one of the members just owns, and Jimin owned this one. I’m not going to say it put him on the map, but it certainly made people sit up and take notice.

Perfect Man cover, the reaction cam of Shinee and Shinhwa's Dongwan reaction to it on I Live Alone and one member filming variety with Shinhwa's Minwoo really played important role in the career boost of BTS.
Also SHCJ all over the world adored and supported them a lot when the industry wasn't giving them much interest. Unfortunately some BTS fans dared to attack Shinhwa who's one of the real legends of kpop giving idol job a longer span and assuring stability and new options even after contract expiration.
