@@samlee5075 I think cap at 10 hours max and the driver is required to have at least 4 hours to rest before doing another 10 hour shift, no OT allowed even if the thing being delivered is important.

Yes. Somebody I know I also died after being hit by a bus driver. The latter was tired after long hours of driving.
Cannot make drivers work so many hours with no sleep. Danger to themselves and others, also danger to your company vehicle and reputation.
Motorcycles are unsafe mode of transport. That’s the root of the problem. Wrong place at the wrong time. Of course the truck driver is in the wrong but if we solve the inherent problem, such tragedies can be avoided. Eg, cos he’s flung on the road, the bus driver thought he’s a garbage bag or just clothes lying on the road..
I will never forgive TP for failing to investigate my hit n run case while parked. 3 police cams there, and so much technology demonstrated in this episode, and investigations came back inconclusive.
When there is extensive policing, ppl say we are a police state. When cannot solve a minor hit and run, blame police useless.
@@vincentxiao419 it's already a police state, CCTVs are already there so at least when crime is done you'd want it to be solved.
I think police has more important cases to deal with than to spend weeks finding thousands of each such cases like your's that happens so often.. Finding a hit and run that took a life takes priority over your few hundred dollars hit and run.

The body could be by the roadside. In the darkness & shadow, even with headlights on, one would think things lying on the road are rags or garbage bags. Wait until you experience it yourself then you’ll understand.

That is why i quit the parcel delivery company.. they expect us to work day and night to achieve delivery target despite how tired we are..i trully regret and wont ever work for delivery company particular parcel delivery. No life! Heath and safety also at risk!.

Serangoon area accident but road sign says Seletar aerospace link. Lol. Seletar aerospace area has been a popular area to film road accidents scene, quiet and traffic very light during the night and weekends. More cyclists than cars.
they could have at least covered the road signs to display some professionalism in the video shoot..
So according to your logic the very few traffic people do not know where to go when they pass by and see the covered sign.
The driver is just an easy scapegoat to be blamed for this accident.
The crux of this issue here is NOT the actual hit and run accident, but the fact that the lorry driver actually had to work 22 hours straight !!
Why is this even allowed? Does his company have no responsibility to bear in this case at all ?
Recently there was also an incident involving a SBS driver who was jailed because he fell asleep at the wheel. This was because he had inadequate rest time because he had only 9 hours in between 2 shifts he had to work, and he only managed to get 4 hours to sleep before he had to wake up to go for his next shift.
Though he brought this up in court, SBS pushed all of the blame to the fella and the biased court decided to side with SBS and handed down a 12 weeks jail sentence to this poor guy.
I hope these incidents create awareness that bus or lorry drivers are human beings, they require proper and adequate rest. Bus or logistic companies have the ultimate responsibility to bear for such accidents occurring and should not just push the sole blame on the drivers. These accidents will only keep happening if the public chooses to overlook such issues.

i got those high court calls before. asked me for my D.O.B, my IC number cuz the representative wanted to check his system about my case and give me details about what to do next. i gave him some random D.O.B and random IC number. and WOW, like magic he told me there's a case on me. LOL.

I understand your frustrations but we have to understand the legal frameworks.. its not just about ‘drive and kill’ someone.. its the whole scenarios of what happened before and after.. whereas for murder theres a few angles to look at before the court willy nilly hand out a sentence to hang.. the problem is we need stricter call for errant, impatience, and selfish motorists that jeopardise the safety of other motorists and pedestrians

A person wearing black lying on the road by the road side. Not so obvious. Ppl would assume it’s a rag or garbage bag. Even in bright daylight, you may overlook it until you take a closer look.
