“Easy save by Anderson.” I appreciate these highlight videos, but I don’t understand why 60% of some of them consist of easy shots on goal in the 1st period, and then we have to speedrun the 2nd and 3rd periods (because they clearly don’t want the videos to be much longer than 10 minutes).

Its because they wanna upload the highlights as soon as the game ends, so they collect and edit the clips as the game progresses. If they fill up a large chunk of time with 1st period clips, they can already have the video mostly finished and ready to upload by the end of the 3rd. If they spread out the highlights more evenly, they would still be editing in the 3rd period clips a while after the game ended, risking some other higjlights channel uploading first and taking views
Yeah! The first few "easy saves" were really just waste of my time. Was the whole game that boring, so they didn't have enough material to make this full length highlight? 😂

I was just thinking the same thing. This team does not belong in the playoffs, and their fans show it.
Would have been better if they let Philly or Washington have seed 3, then at least Detroit would have taken Wild Card 2, but yannow, 15 or whatever OT-L's are worth more than winning 4 more games in regulation.

I know you guys wanna get these out as fast as possible but 6 and a half minutes of uneventful 1st period clips and barely 1 minute from the 3rd is ridiculous. I get doing this during the regular season, but this is the playoffs, theres only 2 games tonight.

It’s really not that hard to watch a game and cut together a highlight that reflects that action. I guess SN just gives zero poops about these videos and assigns it to clueless interns or bots

@@sdhjsjana72js I hear that, and I hate to be this guy, but when I worked at ESPN as a PA, we would cut the highlights in real time with an editor when it came to tight deadline stuff. You’re adding stuff and taking stuff out as the action is happening, knowing you have to hit a video length and time slot in the show. Not sure why a similar process wouldn’t be in effect for these highlights
They showed two goals in the time you’re talking about. People complain about anything and everything 😅
So nice sportnet doesn’t put the awful white noise in the back round like NHL highlights…it’s nice to hear the actual fans.

They have been doing that too.
It's their overall team D, that's what's great about the canes, they don't give up many prime scoring chances and they have guys who get timely goals, orlovs snipe, Aho snipes. Tough smothering defense.
that’s why i think this team has a real chance this year for this first time - they’ve always been built on their defense, they still are, but now… they’ve got the other part of the equation, an offense that can hold their own as well.
And when they do give up a scoring chance, they have a goalie who can not only make a big save but steal them a game. Team has a real shot this year. They were my pick for the cup

Everyone saying the stands were empty and the energy wasn’t there are stupid. I was at the game last night and it was packed af. We were very loud the entire game and for 98% of the game there was not an empty seat in the house.
yeah the people talking about empty seats are clearly just looking for a way to get useless likes on the internet. you can see with your own eyes they aren’t empty. you’re totally wrong about the energy though, and it’s especially apparent when you compare it to the 2 games canes just had at home. isles fans only really made a significant peep when their team scored or almost did, not even when anderson made those insane saves. in the canes games the fans were making noise constantly, even if the isles made a sick play

the last save by Anderson was the easiest. He didn't even think it necessary to stand for the save
not having anderson last year due to injury really hurt...hes capable of being the difference

The Canes have made the playoffs six years in a row, and won at least one series every year. They’re actually the odds-on favorites to win the Cup. Nothing is guaranteed, but I’m fairly optimistic about our chances this year.

When lane lambert was their coach. He pretty much burned sorokin out by playing him every night and playing varley only once a months now he needs the rest

The Islanders and Hurricanes play a similar type of game but the Canes have the roster to execute their game plan better.

Hurricane's should sweep this series, they are just a deeper team. I think Carolina could win the cup, and I wouldn't mind that one bit as Andersen is my favourite goalie and I am an Oilers fan. I hope the Oil win it all, if they don't I wouldn't mind seeing either Carolina or another Canadian team win it all...
Last couple of years Canes fell short because of goaltending and not scoring enough, so far they score goals that is not all high % chances and Andersen have been in beast mode. LFG!

Well, so far the Islanders and Capitals are looking like fodder for the Hurricanes and Rangers. The Metro division final should offer more parity.
You got that right!!! We're seeing why the Rangers & Canes totally embarrassed the rest of the Metro Division this year and left the rest of the teams in their rear view mirrors and in the dust!!! Amazing what a difference a year can make! Last year the Metropolitan Division was much more competitive.

because they’re probably told to get the video out as soon as possible after the game by whatever moron they work for. so they just compile tons of clips from the first 2 periods so the vid can be basically finished by the end. laziness all around

I was calling this series and the Rangers Capitals series for a sweep. Looks like I might be right on a couple of my brackets. Tampa getting swept is a possibility but one I never considered. Dallas getting swept could happen too but I was calling Dallas to win that in 7 games. Wish my team would start putting some players on LTIR and load up for the cup run, working well for Vegas.
If Vegas wins Lord Stanley more teams will do the LTIR loop hole next season because that will mean 4 of the last 6 cups were won using that strategy. I applaud Tampa and Vegas for using this to their advantage and laugh at the league board and Bettman for not addressing this as it was so predictable. I dislike Vegas but am rooting for them to make these men look foolish.

Consensus is that this is the least entertaining series of the first round, and now i see why (As if i couldn't see already with the Islanders playing). The arena is so quiet, the commentary is so dull, even the players look like they're moving in slo-mo. I skipped most of this because even the highlights were uninteresting 😴

Ok I was just looking at the scores and schedule, can someone explain why teams playing within driving distance get 2 days off between games 2-3 while others that are plane rides away only get 1. I say bs to the nhl for that schedule
Hoping for a Kings v Rangers rematch for the Cup.
A lot of it has to do with TV and arena availability if a city also has an NBA team in the playoffs at the same time.
Not the best reasoning of course, but thats more or less why the playoffs ate structured this way.
