You're a good dude, Sceez. When you said you want your kids to stay small it brought me right back to when my son was small. I used to tap on the top of his head and tell him I was trying to knock him back down so he doesn't grow. Lol. It didnt work. He just gave me my first grandchild. Time is the most precious thing we have. Peace, Sceez. ✌🏻
Every time I hear this one and see this video I tear up. Johnny was a legend. Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails who wrote this song said he’d NEVER sing this one again because he can’t stand up to Johnny.
Trent said that he didn't think Johnny would do anything with this song after his label had asked permission. Once Trent heard JC's version he said it was like somebody else kissing your girl. Later he knew it was made for Johnny to make his own. The video is also a twist of fate and a story on it's own. Great job he did capturing everything perfectly. My dad met Johnny once at the Grand Ol' Opry backstage and then for breakfast at his house the next morning with his daughter and wife. The stories told....wow
You're the only person who I've see react to this, that said how hard the silence at the end hits!! To me , when that silence hits is when I feel the entire song at once
This may be a cover but it fits him so perfect. Just like it was written with him in mind. Really makes you think and has probably had a profound effect on many people. Love It!!
I'm sure you've already heard, but this is a cover of a Trent Reznor song. He did an album covering songs from several great rock groups. I cry every time I hear Johnny's version of this. To watch him in this video, flashing back to his younger years, is so heartbreaking. That was his wife, June, on the stairs. She died not long after this and he followed and he died about 5 months later. 😢
Bro... great reaction! You a great Guy Homie.. its ok to FEEL! Your children are very luck... much love to your Pplnem! Trent said that this was no longer his song ...
for a real feel good video this Christmas time it's got to be DIRTY LOOPS - ROCK YOU, with some great Michael Jackson style funk, enjoy, best wishes from the north east coast of England.
I have had to bury a child, and I can assure you it is the worst! We know we will eventually have to say good bye to our parents, and even siblings, but oh the loss of a child is just not fair. I pray you never know that feeling! No material items are as important as a child! Hug them babies!! ❤❤
Sneeze, check out Chris Cornell / nothing compares to you, Billie Jean, Like a stone. He’s a legendary singer gone way too soon. Also One more light / Lynkin Park
Another song that I think you'll appreciate the feelings of is actually a song written by Prince but the performances of it by both Sinead O'Conner and Chris Cornell are amazing. They are very different, but you can feel the emotion so intensely with both. Sinead's version: ua-cam.com/video/0-EF60neguk/v-deo.html Chris's version: ua-cam.com/video/IuUDRU9-HRk/v-deo.html
Hey Sceez, it never fails, as many times as I've heard this song, it still brings a tear to my eye, when I listen to this. RIP: Johnny Cash 💔🎸U R Missed I wonder if you'd be interested in listening to some of the funkiest R&B soul music to adorn your ears. This is "Midnight Stars" fourth album "No Parking on The Dance Floor" and it was released in 1983 and proved to be their breakout album. "Midnight Star - Electricity (Re Mastered) 1983" So Sceez grab your 🧹broom/air guitar and get ready to shake your booty 🎺🎸✨✨👠👞💖🎶🔥🕺
This is one of the most epic covers of all time. Loved your reaction. There is a Soundgarden song I think you'd really enjoy called, Like Suicide. The title is a bit off putting but its my favourite song of there's. I hit my very early teens when grunge hit and I got an introduction to metal at the same time and its still one of my favourites, tho it's no where near one of their most popular songs. Seriously, do yourself a favour and check it out, even if you do it in your own time😃😃😃😃😃👍👍👍👍👍👍🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺
The first pic was his mother. He had lots of success but after died just after this video it seems like he felt like it was meaningless. This was his last recording, he died soon after.
That one makes my allergies act up every single time. I only subbed to your channel yesterday so I'm not sure what all you've done but you saw the photo or film Montage in there where it showed him at various younger points in his life. And that was the ultimate love of his life June. But anyway, I hope you've seen some of his younger stuff, check out 5 ft high and Rising for example, it's about a flood that happened in his life, and I've been to one kind of similar but of course his is his couched in generationally older terms but not much removed from an environment that I knew. And it's brilliant. It's very simple except that every single verse from one feet up to 5 ft of flooding it climbs up at key change in ratchets up the tension, laugh. Freaking love it.
Sad, literally an extremely successful celebrity everyone looks up too and he's telling you practically on his death bed (he died soon after this song) that it was all for nothing, it means absolute sh*t to him after his loved ones were gone...and it's almost like regret and time lost
It's kind of a shame that such a legendary country singer with a wide and varied catalog that this is the only song people ever react to. It doesn't really represent Johnny Cash or his career. Check out "Ghost Riders in the Sky" by him.
Hey ok sceez....I just subed in and happy to say a fan of your reactions.... I love that you get it....rock n metal has been behind the cue ball for as long as I can remember....but you are finding out that there it's not all noise, but talent n meaning behind it all....I thank your journey...I'm loving you man, my brother ...I'm 62 n every bit alive with music in particular symphonic metal like nightwish....if you get a chance, introduce yourself and your audience to my favorite band "within temptation".....Sharon is the angel of the band n of my heart....so good....I'll give you a couple of tracts of many and you won't regret it as I don't regret listening to your insight......thanks my brother,... songs: faster, shot in the dark, shed my skin, don't pray for me, and we run ( featuring xibit), dangerous, super nova.....too many more...enjoy
Johnny was an awesome Christian man….the album’s he did with Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers as his band are some of the best songs you’ll ever hear…incredible covers etc
Reznor of NIN was reluctant to give it to Cash to cover.
Now ,he says it is Johnny's song.
This is Johnny Cash saying goodbye.

You my man, are wise above your years, I really appreciate you, keep letting the music take you places !!
I lost my father when I was 11. And have lost all my grandparents. This song is amazing, but definitely hits the feels. ❤
Thanks for your solemn reaction.
Thank you for playing and hearing this.
Thanks for sharing. This is a tough one.

Definitely his song now!!

Tina...so sorry. My husband lost his son. It's very difficult nearly unbearable at times.❤️
I hear you, 😢 You never get over it.

Johnny saying in old age how he wished he had lived a more wholesome life. And his love for Christ in the end.

Please react to:
Meatloaf - For Crying Out Loud (Greatest Love Song Ever)
Mary Chapin Carpenter - I Feel Lucky (Just fun)

Johnny was cool but Merle Haggard was the man in country music. He was in the can for real too. He didn't just sing about it.
