What a time, what a riders... Rossi, Biaggi, Kato, Capirossi, Abe, Checa, Barros, Gibernau, Guintoli.... I love todays Moto Gp but it's full of electronics and aerodinamics shit, these riders would beat them any day!!!

Old YZR-M1, RC212V, GP3, GSV-R, ZX-RR are wilder and harder to be tamed than today's bikes.

I can tell you that 100 % of these riders are slower than today, s ones.
And you only need one proof.
The absolute #1 in 2002 was Rossi.
However, Rossi still rides today... but he is constantly beaten up by the "new generations"

This felt like the golden era. Every one of those names feel so iconic now. And Daijiro Kato my favorite ❤️ I was so devastated. To this day I know he would’ve gone on to with the championship at least once. I remember during the off season Kato was consistently faster than Sete. Kato’s weakness was famously the rain but I remember him saying that he finally tamed the rain during the offseason before 2003. He had practiced a lot in the rain. I’m still not over it that he was gone before he could even show us his full potential. He was only just getting started 😞… And Abe too passed away and Hayden. Still feels surreal because I used to watch every race live. They’re still alive to me. Have a lot of the full races on vhs 📼

@@pabloperez4063 you can’t compare like that. And Rossi was never beaten by a new generation he just got slower due to age that’s it. Back in these days when he was at his prime it would be a totally different story. And Daijiro Kato was a rising star. This was only his first season in MotoGP after breaking the score records in 250cc. We never saw his full potential. He would’ve won at least one championship. He was consistently faster than his teammate Sete, but after Kato passed Sete was Rossi’s rival. Had Kato lived, I’m sure it would’ve been Kato giving Rossi a hard time along with Sete. I don’t consider today’s riders better, just a different generation that’s all. And these bikes were different, especially in 2002 when half the bikes were still 2 stroke and half 4 stroke. Kato was keeping up with the top on his older 2 stroke while Rossi had the new 4 stroke Honda. In this race Kato finally had a 4 stroke. But anyway, you can’t make confident comparisons like that. You’re still only speculating, doesn’t matter how strongly you believe this. It is still only speculation. I’d rather not do that. But these guys were legends. I’ve recently lost interest. Nothing against the riders and bikes of today but I miss these guys and a bit later the legendary Casey Stoner. It wasn’t just the riders as riders but the personalities, the rivalries. It was the golden era for me. For my generation. And I don’t like the look of the bikes anymore. Lost interest in F1 the same way. I miss Senna and Häkkinen and Schumacher and all those guys.
