Asking Londoners How Much They Pay For Rent

- I ask people in London how much they pay for rent each month, and it was shocking.
But how bad is it really? Comment down below where else in the world you think rent is more expensive.
It would be cool to also know what ppls salaries are and then see the proportion of income after tax is goes towards housing costs
Cool thanks
It will also be unreasonable to expect people to tell the internet their salary with no anonymity
@@jimbojimbo6873not really since there are a lot of videos where people tell their salary and if they don't want to they are just not in the video🤷
Mind your own business I would say
Really nice video and interviewing, thanks! Would love to see more videos same sort of questions honestly
More of this please. Great video.
I pay £1.5k a month for a 1 bed flat in London, not including bills. I’m assuming most of these people are in house shares right? If not, that actually seems quite cheap.
100% house/flat shares. Hardly anyone lives on their own.
@@MM-ev1fgare you saying that hardly any Londoner doesn’t share? 😂
650 double room, bills including is actually good
I really don't get people who think ANYONE in London is "rich". Bro, if you earn 200,000 a year - that's still only 8,000 a month if you were paying student loans off. I haven't even factored in the pension contribution, you could end up making only 7k.
1500 rent, leaves you with around 5k. Expenses and bills just add another 1k.
You have 4k left - 1k for basic monthly expenses so MAYBE you save 3k.
"But, but bro, 3k is a lot!111"
Bear in mind you can get laid off from your job at any minute. Not many people can say they consistently make 200k a year for even 2 years straight.
This is not that much money - you'll maybe save 30k a year. Meaning it will take almost 5 years to have 100k in savings. This is "good" money but it's by no means some significant, amazing money... You will be able to then afford a mortgage and pay £2000 a month for a dingy flat in Zone 5 lmfao.
The UK is not designed for being rich by any means.
its really the west london area, gdp per capita there is well over 250k, its just absolutely everywhere else is less. even east central London is 80k.
This is the truth.
I'm moving to Italy next year and buying a property for €45000, it's 3 bedroom villa with a large parcel of land for growing vegetables, same kind of house in London would be like £800k, lol.
I don't know ANYONE who earns £200,000 per year. Most people I know scrape around on £24,000
@@martinspeer262 how can you live with 24k in london damn
Facts it's never enough, I am a contractor, and still struggling to buy my own property. They are all too small, they are too boxy. I can just about afford something around 600k, but I don't like anything at all!!!
I am gonna seriously consider Italy
I've never really researched rental prices or salaries in London but 600-1000 pounds per month (as a single) does not sound as high as I exptected it to be. With 2.5k net you could have an okay lifestyle.
It’s per room in a shared house. Not renting an entire place for themselves. That would be like 2000
London is really expensive. I pay around £650 for a bedroom flat outside of London, it's crazy have to pay so much for that I would prefer to be a property guardian in London. At least rent would be cheaper.
I have to pay 680£ for a single bed room in zone 3. Its madness !
I’m shocked how low these are
back in Nov22
London is so expensive!
Ask Londoners if they move out from London, which city in the UK would they move to?
Mainly Lahore I think
Manchester or Bristol my top 2 plans
Newcastle
The inflation/ the rising cost of living forced me out of London
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I can't understand why so many people want to live in London. That is one of the most ridiculous places on earth, cost of life is very high, when average wages are pathetically low. If you don't have AT LEAST £60k a year, leave that sick city tomorrow.
Can you also ask people how much they live on after rent, bills etc.
great video
How is the ad about energy prices going up
I was paying 2000 a month ( I am from Latvia ). I moved to Hampshire.
Did you rent on a studio flat, was it shared or just you, and does that include your bills?
I am also in Hampshire, but I'm planning to move to London, preferably Canary Wharf or somewhere descent.
@@MainActor studio flat, not shared, bills not included
I pay 32euros a week for my 2 bed cottage in West of Ireland. All gardens are mowed and grounds mowed by contractors. Maintance free...as we have a care taker who fixes everything. All for 126Euro a month. Lucky me
I am immigrating to Ireland with 10 of my familiy members
Dont believe you look at dublin wicklow rents now
To pay that price and have your lungs filled with polution every day
From Kenya, Africa I love your content buddy. Are there company offering remote job? I'd really appreciate if you refered me to any, I don't mind how they pay as long as they'll pay.
I'll help you grow your channel
Nice little video
£1,500 for an apartment in Canary Wharf…. That’s CHEAP!… I achieve more than that on an apartment in Walton on Thames!
in NYC $475/m for a studio owned by my dad paying homeowners fee only
W
Should have asked if it was 1.5k together or split
£650 in West Ferry, how in the hell!!
for a bedroom presumably
Still ridiculously cheap to pay 650 with bills included in Westferry mate, thats zone 2
@@jimbojimbo6873who wants to share? I rather live away from London
@@martinspeer262 Where are you moving to?
