THANK YOU SIR!!! I don't have to send this back to the ebay seller now. Enter everything EXACTLY as you see it on cover/panel and hp partsurfer. Part number is SKU number. Thank you for making this video!!!
Started working on HP laptops, and they seem like a pain compared to Lenovo laptops. Nice to know that you can program the board in the BIOS, and not require the special tool all the time.
Hi Pranab, thank you for your informative video. I am experiencing issues with installing an NFC module on my new HP Pro x2 612 G2 Laptop. Unfortunately, there is no option to enable the NFC module in the BIOS. I removed the NFC module from my old HP Pro x2 612 G2 laptop, and it worked perfectly before i install it to my new laptop. I’ve been searching extensively for a solution, and I came across a few websites mentioning FutureByte before discovering your video. Is there any way I can edit FutureByte to enable the NFC module? Help me please, Thanks...
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I noticed that the byte feature characters from the HP website and the one you entered were different in some places. On the webpage there was "3Y5K6E" but u left out the "5k" Why is that? and where did you get the one you entered from?
As a field agent, sometimes they're different. There will be one of the parts surfer website and one on the bottom of the pc but ironically the one on the website usually works best
there is no build id feature byte on the partsurfer page with my serial nr, it shows only a short list of files, and not like u :( and the error not in commited state wont go away
Thank you so much for this video I had no idea where to find the feature byte. Unfortunately, the feature byte that parts surfer provided me is not taken by my laptop. I have checked and rechecked and it won't take it. Since I replaced the motherboard myself HP refuses to help. What should I do next?
@@jamesnewman5695 appreciate it if you can rack your brain and remember how you did it. HP are hopeless and wont help me brand my new motherboard. Their partsurfer app doesnt have the feature byte shown anywhere so I'm stuck with a rebuilt laptop which I cant sort out. I have the HP DMI apps so I understand that process, but I'm missing the feature byte info.....Help!!😉
I have tried and cannot fully understand your statements at the very end after you have entered the featurebyte.... you mention to press enter, and thereafter I cannot understand through the accent. Sorry. Do you say press the "up-arrow" at one point? I just need to know how to go from entering the featurebyte to where one can confirm and upload the data finally into BIOS. Thanks for your help.....
HP teases us with so many absurd codes and numbers, what they do is totally ridiculous. I never bought an HP computer again. It took me 2 days to solve this and thanks to the people I was able to solve it. They don't pay attention to the public.
Pranab Kumar the thing is that I did not replace my motherboard. I bought an HP system recovery for my system exactly, but it’s complaining that it cannot complete the system recovery due to an incorrect brand name. So, it tells me to check my featureBytes. I see you lounged some MPM program. Where is that?
I am an HP field tech and have only seen this done a few times. I watched this prior to doing my first, as a refresher. Thanks MUCH!

There is no software for that.

For Laptop you have to use DMI tools with respective model. This program works desktop only.
you can be for feature feature number and SKU number
I can't find my feature byte on that page.
You can seek it from partsurfer.

How to Collect CT number? Please Help Me.
You can found CT number in the system board.
By default CT number putted in BIOS SYSTEM from factory.
@@pranab2756 But CT Number Empty
@@RejaulKarim-ly4pl you can also collect CT number from system board physically by inspect. System board 14 digit serial number would be CT number.
Not working
