According to Channel Chasers, yes, which is why we even got that really nice closing ending with him all grown up...which is apparently just now a "What if" situation and not actually canonically how he grows up. Since the show decided to continue after that though, no. There was even that special episode where he apparently had made a secret wish the nobody would ever age so that he could stay 10 forever and keep his fairies...and I don't recall if they ever said how long he had apparently stopped time for. But because the Drake Bell movies did the "Okay yeah, but what if he "mentally" stayed 10 with the intention of never growing up and losing his fairies" approach (which was a completely BS approach, but whatever), this series is apparently just running with the fact that for some reason he just gets to keep his fairies as long as he wants...but not only that, he can give them away to whoever whenever as opposed to it being a Fairy World thing since Jorgan was just too busy with his gaming to say no and gave him permission to do so.
I really hope the people who greenlit these live-action garbage get cancer! They deserve it for milking these franchise and destroying people's childhoods!
Purpose behind Fairly Odd Parents: Fairies get given to kids with really shitty lives that are UNHAPPY with them. Timmy has at best neglectful parents and at WORST borderline abusive. He had a babysitter that almost kills him on the regular. He's a brat yeah, but given his situation I SORTA understand why??? This... Has no reason to exist. The kids are well off, with loving parents, good friends, they have no NEED for Fairly Odd Parents and it annoys me WAAAAY more than it should.

That has been an issue with the oringal show especially with Chloe. The worse she is her being unsecured of herself and making mistakes for being overly trusting, and that is considered bad enough to get fairies. And yet they ignore the likes of Timmy’s friend Chester, who lives in poverty in a dirty trailer with a father who wears a paperbag over his head all the time in shame for being an awful baseball player, or hell not even Tottie who lives with Vicky. These two don’t get fairies and yet perfect little Chloe does?
I heard of theory that the fairies were literally an afterthought. Like this was a stand-alone sitcom and someone thought throwing in the fairies would make it more appealing. It really seems like it.

Actually this may be correct, it recently got revealed that the reason that the animation is so bad is that there was only one guy working on the animation completely that was forced to do it under crunch time, there was an entire thing that got leaked about it, so they potentially could have forced this poor man to do this really just so that way they could force them in at the last minute into the sitcom.
Seeing reboots like these makes me appreciate the Invader Zim movie more than I already did, it’s scary how so many good shows from the past get massacred if given too much time or handed to the wrong people who only want to make a profit

Butch Hartman or whoever saw the ICarly continuation be successful, And knowing Butch (I still don't have any idea if Butch attachted himself to this bullshit cartoon or not but it would not surprise me) Was like "Hey i can do that... "Makes the movies look better in comparison" honestly this is somewhat what I feel whats going on with the powerpuff girls first the anime, than the reboot, than the (luckely canceled) live action adoptation. Okay, I can give a past on the anime, but the other two. It feels likes with certain IP's the people behind it just want to make it worse each time, so the shit that came before looks better in comparison. Like "why put actual effort and quaility in it? Just make it worse than what we did before, then they have to love it!" It's just overall sad.
The animation gives me SpongeBob goes to Tehran vibes. The way everyone blinks by moving their eyebrows and the show being obsessed with front facing angles just creeps me out.

I mean there was one good ending that had him fully grown up, though his children had sort of the same wrap at least he's a man by that point. I like to think that maybe this happened after everything was resolved, but the verse had such horrid retcons it messed every flow it had going for so I can't truly blame you.

Growing up pretty financially unstable, I always thought it was kinda cool how Timmy was the one with the fairies and not Chester. Made me feel like being in a trailer park didn’t mean you couldn’t be as happy as the kids with money.
I think there was actually an episode where Timmy got an “It’s a Wonderful Life” scenario, and in the other timeline Chester got Cosmo and Wanda. Instead of being selfish, he used his wishes to make life better for everyone around him. I think the most selfish he got was fixing his teeth and propping up his trailer with a gold brick.
4:52 Not entirely related to the topic, just something that bothered me a bit but titular refers to something of which appears in a piece of media that also appears in the pieces title. For example, the show is called the fairly odd parents, this is in reference to Cosmo and Wanda, thus, Cosmo and Wanda would be titular, or rather, they'd be dubbed the "titular fairly odd parents". Timmy's name or implied existence isn't in the title of the reboot or the original show and so he is not titular.
It's weird bcuz the concept of Fairly Oddpparents lends itself perfectly to longevity. Either introduce a new kid for Cosmo and Wanda to be with or follow new fairies and kid entirely. I don't understand what's so hard about that
It's kind of poetic how, as the show lost the charm and "life" it once had, the characters gradually looked more and more like lifeless puppets on strings. It really looks and feels like they're "Weekend At Bernie's"-ing the characters at this point. Also, forward-facing Crocker is my sleep paralysis demon.

Nick seems so desperate for money that they wanna milk this cartoon until it drops the last quarter, just like Sponge Bob, even after Hillenburg's death. That's why CN is more respectable, they let their cartoons get an appropriate ending, something that rarely happen at Nick; they should do a new pilot competition for new animators.
I stopped after Channel Chasers. It was a solid show for the first few years with pretty good comedy. But yeah, it went on for way too long. It would have been better if they just gave Cosmo and Wanda a new kid to take care of. And allow the viewers to see snippets of the grown up Timmy Turner with his family and Cosmo and Wanda just looking at Timmy with happiness because he grew up.
These reboots have felt like they're a dime a dozen, the Invader Zim and Rocko's Modern Life movies were top tier though. Really managed to pay homage without being too sterile or pandery. Actually introduced them to new audiences without offending the fans. But now they're just digging up our childhood IPs from their graves to wring the last bit of money out of them. Thanos was right, we do live in a society.

Theres a valuable lesson to be learned here: You either die a hero like Danny phantom and invader zim. Or you live long enough for the creators to run out of ideas and just use you as cash grab like spongebob(I mean, it's still a little good), loud house, or fairly odd parents.
To be fair, Zim got cut off a bit too early. There wasn’t even enough episodes to explain how the moose showed up. Zim even makes a joke about it in the Christmas special
Danny Phantom ended exactly as Butch Hartman intended the series to end. It does not mean that everyone was going to like the decision, since he already had a plan in his head from the very beginning of the development of both of the Fairly Odd Parents and Danny Phantom show.

Seeing you mention the switch to flash and how a cartoon should upgraded with a program/style shift reminds me of one of my fav childhood shows, pound puppies (the one that released around the time MLP FIM), it's first episode or so's animation wasn't the best, but it switched over to a new style and it looked WAY better
I remember when I used to watch FOP. Looking back I realized that Timmy's parents were unintentionally neglectful. They didn't even know his babysitter Vicky was mistreating and abusing him. I think they nearly found out in a special produced in 2004. Butch Hartmann actually wanted to end the show in 2006 after the second Jimmy/Timmy special. But, Nick wanted him to make more episodes beginning in the late 00s. Fairly Odd Parents and SpongeBob had been Nick's cash cow for years. FOP ended and now they're trying to an animated/live action show on Paramount+. I agree the show looks terrible and it makes me thankful that I don't have Paramount+. LOL 😄
Butch Hartman sold the rights to both this and Danny Phantom when he created them. Im sure he still gets a small cut but I don't understand why people seem to blaming him for this. He left nickelodeon 4 years ago or they fired him idk

Holy shit yes. No one ever talks about it, but I grew up watching the original power puff girls and I was so excited for the reboot. I was about nine or so when it came out and I was SO disappointed. Couldn't even get past the first episode because it was so annoying to sit through. To this day I avoid everything revolving it. It's just awful.
Every character can be be defined by "has this quirk" and that's it. Not saying there needs to be on going character development, but there does need to be more to a character than "this character has this quirk".

The flash animation in the final season looks like the animation of Total Drama Island. The style fits the Total Drama, but it just doesn't work with FOP
The fact youtube groups and far less wealthy studios across the sea can pull off such complex work far better also I bet the animation could have worked far better if they took notes from some CellShade CGI cartoons from China

I deliberately chose not to see Fairly Odder. The original 2001 Fairly OddParents series lasted five seasons too long and suffered from flanderization and seasonal rot as a result. It also introduced unnecessary new characters like Sparky and Chloe and gave us three poorly-received live-action movies that haven't aged well due in part to Drake Bell's child endangerment charges.
I love rewatching Drake and Josh and I’m still mad that I’m only allowed to half like it now cause he’s creepy af. Any time I enjoy it now I enjoy it for Josh and Miranda

They try and re-introduce timmy's cousins still as "The new kid in school" But there where already 2 previous episode of her at school already meeting the teachers and already meeting the towns people . Like that filler episode made no fucking sense at all! Like she is no longer the new kid at this point . She already met vicky, already met the mayor all ready met the new anchor lady or whatever . and in that episode they treated her like she hadn't already existed for the other two episodes. absolutely made no sense
How does it feel to live long enough to see all of your favorite franchises go down in flames? For me, it's this, Powerpuff Girls, Winx Club, Fantastic Four, the live action Disney remakes, the DC movies. It'd be one thing if a franchise had ONE bad adaptation like The Last Airbender. It's another when a franchise suffers from seasonal rot. And it's another when a franchise deals with BOTH!!!!
So there are now three endings for this series: Timmy becomes an adult and forgets his fairies (Channel Chasers) Timmy becomes a wish granter for other kids, and eventually a fairy himself (Drake Bell movies) Timmy grows up and gives his fairies to other kids (This shit)
The show kind of feels like a poor attempt at mimicking the Disney show The Replacements, another show that's also about 2 kids in a mixed family dynamic where they have access to some kind of macguffin that gives them whatever they want. Coincidentally, the executive producer for The Replacements is Jack Thomas, who was the associate story editor for seasons 2-5 of Fairly Odd Parents.
But in that show the characters had charm. Well mostly the parents tbh, but this remake could never have the amount of charm that Agent K had in her pinky toe
Nick definitely talked about them wanting to produce a remake of the show way in advance before Paramount Plus even came out. The first few episodes might have partly talked about already in advance already. Nick already expected this kind of reaction from the fans of the show when they werr interviewed about it as well.
I remember on the add post on fb they decided to put Timmy on the main pic. He looked so funny with his wide opened popping eyes and mouth open. Everyone was roasting the whole thing in the comments saying he looked coked/tweaked out 😂😂😂😂 they changed the pic and started filtering the comments.

I definitely agree! I’d felt when they’d added Poof, Foop, Sparky, and Chloe Carmichael from 2007-2017 the show declined in quality. I especially felt when they did the entire The Darkness Trilogy/Fairly Odd Baby was the time FOP jumped the shark. There was a few decent episode plus 2006’s Channel Chasers yet the animation quality was going down. Similar to SpongeBob after the 2004 movie. SpongeBob jumped the shark by season 4(2005-2007) or season 5(2007-2009). The difference between The FOP and SpongeBob is that SpongeBob slowly went up quality in animation after seasons 6-8 then down around season 11-13.
You could always chalk up to the limited magic in this show to *Da Rulez Timmy Turner Edition*, a collection and refinement of fairy rules written in response to the wish making nightmare known as Timmy Turner. Of course wish making is limited...is what I'd like to say. This would be a good premise for an animated series, but the live action kills that entirely. The lesson: You get ONE chance with the extended family angle for a spinoff series. FOP screwed it up BAD!
The closest thing we will ever get to a great live action Fairly Odd Parents tv show is Big Time Rush. It has a lot of the same creative team behind it and if you watch it, it sometimes literally feels like a live action cartoon. It’s great!

He already approved of the release of Kamp Koral before he passed. He already made certain that the Christmas episode was fully finished while he was still alive since he knew that the staff would not likely work on or fully finish it after he would pass on.
When I heard they were rebooting the series, I imagined the show would be a bit mature with a new Timmy as a kid again and being a bullied victim. The fairies is what makes the show overall a comedy. I would imagine the fairies as real actors. (I know the awful movies sorta did this but they would cast better actors and their designs match their look of the show. Kinda like those fan drawings you see where they look real.) But the kids would feel like real kids dealing with real things in life but still is overall a funny show. Many things from the cartoon would be pushed back because the movies showed that not everything works in live action so make it grounded in reality. Especially Butch Hartman's art style. You have to think of a different astetic. Tonally, it's like Even Steven meets Beetlejuice. Instead we got 5:30...
For me I thought that it take place in its own universe, age up the main characters by a year and have Timmy, Chole, Tootie, Chester, and A.J. as middle school students. Also according to Jorgan Timmy would have Cosmo and Wanda for a long time so I could see both of them going to middle school to look out for Timmy and Chole
I feel like the only way a live action adaptation of Fairy Oddparents could work is If it was made in a 70s sitcom style, with outdated and cheesy effects on purpose and the FOP being real actors, and Timmy should be a child ofc. But it would have to rely on good comedy to be good

first the anime, than the reboot, than the (luckely canceled) live action adoptation. Okay, I can give a past on the anime, but the other two. It feels likes with certain IP's the people behind it just want to make it worse each time, so the shit that came before looks better in comparison. Like "why put actual effort and quaility in it? Just make it worse than what we did before, then they have to love it!" It's just overall sad.
The animation gives me SpongeBob goes to Tehran vibes. The way everyone blinks by moving their eyebrows and the show being obsessed with front facing angles just creeps me out.
I never get the whole "Timmy Turner grown up" aspect of the live action stuff, isn't it literally canon in the show that no one will ever age because Timmy wished it at some point?
I mean there was one good ending that had him fully grown up, though his children had sort of the same wrap at least he's a man by that point. I like to think that maybe this happened after everything was resolved, but the verse had such horrid retcons it messed every flow it had going for so I can't truly blame you.

I think there was actually an episode where Timmy got an “It’s a Wonderful Life” scenario, and in the other timeline Chester got Cosmo and Wanda. Instead of being selfish, he used his wishes to make life better for everyone around him. I think the most selfish he got was fixing his teeth and propping up his trailer with a gold brick.
Chester didn't have much, but he didn't need much to live life happy. :)
4:52 Not entirely related to the topic, just something that bothered me a bit but titular refers to something of which appears in a piece of media that also appears in the pieces title.
For example, the show is called the fairly odd parents, this is in reference to Cosmo and Wanda, thus, Cosmo and Wanda would be titular, or rather, they'd be dubbed the "titular fairly odd parents".
Timmy's name or implied existence isn't in the title of the reboot or the original show and so he is not titular.
It's weird bcuz the concept of Fairly Oddpparents lends itself perfectly to longevity. Either introduce a new kid for Cosmo and Wanda to be with or follow new fairies and kid entirely. I don't understand what's so hard about that
It's kind of poetic how, as the show lost the charm and "life" it once had, the characters gradually looked more and more like lifeless puppets on strings. It really looks and feels like they're "Weekend At Bernie's"-ing the characters at this point.

These reboots have felt like they're a dime a dozen, the Invader Zim and Rocko's Modern Life movies were top tier though. Really managed to pay homage without being too sterile or pandery. Actually introduced them to new audiences without offending the fans. But now they're just digging up our childhood IPs from their graves to wring the last bit of money out of them. Thanos was right, we do live in a society.
I actually kinda enjoy the idea of the fairies being passed down to a different family but this show was executed horribly. The animation and live action abomination is horrible, i like hybrids like rodger rabbit but this looks so fucking dumb. The gimmick of the faries is nonexistant to boot which just makes it awful

Seeing you mention the switch to flash and how a cartoon should upgraded with a program/style shift reminds me of one of my fav childhood shows, pound puppies (the one that released around the time MLP FIM), it's first episode or so's animation wasn't the best, but it switched over to a new style and it looked WAY better
I remember when I used to watch FOP. Looking back I realized that Timmy's parents were unintentionally neglectful. They didn't even know his babysitter Vicky was mistreating and abusing him. I think they nearly found out in a special produced in 2004. Butch Hartmann actually wanted to end the show in 2006 after the second Jimmy/Timmy special. But, Nick wanted him to make more episodes beginning in the late 00s. Fairly Odd Parents and SpongeBob had been Nick's cash cow for years. FOP ended and now they're trying to an animated/live action show on Paramount+. I agree the show looks terrible and it makes me thankful that I don't have Paramount+. LOL 😄

Holy shit yes. No one ever talks about it, but I grew up watching the original power puff girls and I was so excited for the reboot. I was about nine or so when it came out and I was SO disappointed. Couldn't even get past the first episode because it was so annoying to sit through. To this day I avoid everything revolving it. It's just awful.

I deliberately chose not to see Fairly Odder. The original 2001 Fairly OddParents series lasted five seasons too long and suffered from flanderization and seasonal rot as a result. It also introduced unnecessary new characters like Sparky and Chloe and gave us three poorly-received live-action movies that haven't aged well due in part to Drake Bell's child endangerment charges.

Shows don't move to flash because it's better for animation, it's far from an upgrade. Any time a show moves to flash, it's because it's low priority and they're just letting it limp around for a while until it dies. It's a cheaper way to animate

For me, it's this, Powerpuff Girls, Winx Club, Fantastic Four, the live action Disney remakes, the DC movies. It'd be one thing if a franchise had ONE bad adaptation like The Last Airbender. Timmy becomes an adult and forgets his fairies (Channel Chasers)
Timmy becomes a wish granter for other kids, and eventually a fairy himself (Drake Bell movies)
Timmy grows up and gives his fairies to other kids (This shit)
I actually prefer the first one.
The show kind of feels like a poor attempt at mimicking the Disney show The Replacements, another show that's also about 2 kids in a mixed family dynamic where they have access to some kind of macguffin that gives them whatever they want. Coincidentally, the executive producer for The Replacements is Jack Thomas, who was the associate story editor for seasons 2-5 of Fairly Odd Parents.
But in that show the characters had charm. Well mostly the parents tbh, but this remake could never have the amount of charm that Agent K had in her pinky toe
Nick definitely talked about them wanting to produce a remake of the show way in advance before Paramount Plus even came out. The first few episodes might have partly talked about already in advance already. Nick already expected this kind of reaction from the fans of the show when they werr interviewed about it as well.
I remember on the add post on fb they decided to put Timmy on the main pic. He looked so funny with his wide opened popping eyes and mouth open. Everyone was roasting the whole thing in the comments saying he looked coked/tweaked out 😂😂😂😂 they changed the pic and started filtering the comments.
If the original show was starting to decline towards the end, who the hell thought a live-action show with an adult playing a child character would fix anything?
I didn't fall off the Fairly Odd Parents train, I went to the front, jumped off in front of the train, and let myself get flattened like a pancake.

I definitely agree! I’d felt when they’d added Poof, Foop, Sparky, and Chloe Carmichael from 2007-2017 the show declined in quality. I especially felt when they did the entire The Darkness Trilogy/Fairly Odd Baby was the time FOP jumped the shark. There was a few decent episode plus 2006’s Channel Chasers yet the animation quality was going down. Similar to SpongeBob after the 2004 movie. SpongeBob jumped the shark by season 4(2005-2007) or season 5(2007-2009). The difference between The FOP and SpongeBob is that SpongeBob slowly went up quality in animation after seasons 6-8 then down around season 11-13.
You could always chalk up to the limited magic in this show to *Da Rulez Timmy Turner Edition*, a collection and refinement of fairy rules written in response to the wish making nightmare known as Timmy Turner. Of course wish making is limited...is what I'd like to say. This would be a good premise for an animated series, but the live action kills that entirely.
The lesson: You get ONE chance with the extended family angle for a spinoff series. FOP screwed it up BAD!
The closest thing we will ever get to a great live action Fairly Odd Parents tv show is Big Time Rush. It has a lot of the same creative team behind it and if you watch it, it sometimes literally feels like a live action cartoon. It’s great!
Big Time Rush is the most underrated Nick show ever. It's still something I go back to, even as an adult. It's AWESOME

I watched the new series 4 times though. I am planning on binge watching the original series and new series later this week.
The animation shown at 2:40 just looks like some fan animation from YT. Good for a YT video, but bad for a well known, rich, company
When I heard they were rebooting the series, I imagined the show would be a bit mature with a new Timmy as a kid again and being a bullied victim. The fairies is what makes the show overall a comedy. I would imagine the fairies as real actors. (I know the awful movies sorta did this but they would cast better actors and their designs match their look of the show. Kinda like those fan drawings you see where they look real.) But the kids would feel like real kids dealing with real things in life but still is overall a funny show. Many things from the cartoon would be pushed back because the movies showed that not everything works in live action so make it grounded in reality. Especially Butch Hartman's art style. You have to think of a different astetic. Tonally, it's like Even Steven meets Beetlejuice.

For me I thought that it take place in its own universe, age up the main characters by a year and have Timmy, Chole, Tootie, Chester, and A.J. as middle school students. Also according to Jorgan Timmy would have Cosmo and Wanda for a long time so I could see both of them going to middle school to look out for Timmy and Chole

I feel like the only way a live action adaptation of Fairy Oddparents could work is If it was made in a 70s sitcom style, with outdated and cheesy effects on purpose and the FOP being real actors, and Timmy should be a child ofc. But it would have to rely on good comedy to be good

I'm always scared of live action anything featuring Nickelodeon properties. I know Dan Schneider is gone but two decades of sexualizing the female characters feet really leaves a bad image. Especially because Vicky had some weird feet scenes in the old cartoon and she's apparently in this reboot.
