He might be my favorite in the series. I mean, Raiden, Ocelot, and half the MGSV buddies are up there, but the Sorrow just seems...awesome. Like the calm wise man on the hill. He's something of a Gandalf figure.

Rico suave true all the other cobras tried to kill him and yet The Sorrow tried to help Snake. Though during the boss battle he tried shooting those torpedo waves at you which makes you lose health.

The difficult of this boss depends on how many people you killed. By the way I played the game, I killed a lot of solders with headshots to sneak by. So I was kind fucked...
My first time, the enemies all had bleeding throats, bleeding crotches and some were set on fire. As a young teen, I was pretty infatuated with the many ways you could kill the enemies.
@@skizzmt6291 you can get the spirit camo if you actually touch The Sorrow's body after the whole ordeal. if you just touch The Sorrow's ghost form, or if you kill yourself and then revive by using the revive pill, then you won't get it.

Darwin Mendoza if the fear can scare his enemies, why wasn't I the very least afraid of him? I know they're based on emotions but the sorry scared me a bit more by being an enemy you can't kill, one that speaks to the dead, and makes that river endless depending on how many people die. So the sorrow is scarier to me and several other people than the fear, I think the fear just has mental issues

We're not bound to be afraid of him cause were outside their dimension. Therefore we don't have to follow all their rules. Also any solider can bring fear to the battle field but the person giving him his title was the Boss so she probably gave him that cause he brought her sorrow. As well as probably depressing sorrow to enemies with guilt from dead comrades.
Sorrow smiles because he is dead, and thus doesn't have to fight "Sorrow that war and conflict brings" Joy/The Boss frowns because she lost something dear to her, and now only has a fight to the death to enjoy for "The joy and thrill that battle brings"
Easily one of the strangest boss fights I've ever had. It's kinda like a Psycho Mantis type boss battle with you having to think WAY left field to beat him
I went through a whole playthrough minus boss' just slashing necks and going through this part was hilarious. The dead would be walking with their heads cocked to the side screaming "aaahhh my neck! my neck! aahhh!" I liked that little touch.

I didn't even know how the Fake Death PIll and Revival Pill worked when I was a kid. Didn't help that English wasn't my primary language. So I was stuck for ages, perhaps more than a month before I accidentally opened the Item Box and me going "Wait.. The fuck?"

It just came to my head, imagine when Snake leaves with Eva on the plane he somehow falls in the water and the Sorrow battle comes up, But your pretty much in the ocean and the ennemies you killed pull up, But not in a straight line more like taking the whole ocean and you have to naviguate through that. It would be crazier and scarier bruh (The remake can do something crazy with the Sorrow's battle i swear)
