Thanks Tolga as always! Really, anything other than the standard and wide cab C40-8s on Q453 is a treat. The Q453 that I caught Wednesday morning was all EMD power.
Thanks as always! AC GEVOs on Q453 is something definitely not seen often. The GEVOs were for coal train E109, which only had one of those two GEVOs (752) pulling the entire string of coal hoppers. I'm guessing the second one is still sitting at Hialeah Yard in Miami.
All three parts are excellent, as usual! Is it my imagination, or does FEC keep its loco fleet in impeccable condition? I don't know that I've seen a dirty FEC loco in any of your posts. They all look like they're fresh out of the shop!
As far as I know, yes, FEC's locomotives are cleaned and kept in good condition. I'm pretty sure they're washed and serviced in Bowden Yard, Jax as well as New Smyrna Beach.
It was actually Amtrak 97, the Silver Meteor. There have been times where I have seen both the Silver Star and the Silver Meteor with 2 Viewliners in the same day and times where I have seen both trains with 3.
we just had another train derailmeant wed at my town. 3 cars derailed on the old line. thats the 2nd time in 2 months. the line was built in 1896 i found out from cuty hall. 2 cra sare still off track tonight and theyvare saying 4 days before the line if repaired. the right rail is destroyed id say 1500 ft.
Well the RailAmerica locos ARE fresh out of the shop. They just got them a few months ago. I wouldn't be surprised if FEC keeps their locomotives in great condition. There's only one line and FEC has quite a few locomotives, so they can rotate them around and run them through a wash regularly. Locomotives on class I railroads like CSX are always on the move and rotating them to terminals so they can be washed is a waste of time and money.

Awesome footage Timmy! The ACs are a treat to see on 453.

Great video Tim!
Wow two AC Gevo's on Q453, that's a great catch.
5 stars and keep them coming.

Another great package! Nice to see some AC GEVOS in 453!

I love listening to that Amtrak 97 conductor! lol! Great Video
Thanks!
Thanks as always for the comments!
Sorry I never got to respond to your comment. I believe CSX's ES44AHs were released in late 2007.
At 5:42 there were three viewliner cars on that silver star?
