The fact this car has been around for YEARS in our scene shows how it’s stood the test of time! 👊🏼🇦🇺
Are there any ozzy you tube channels that show these builds or cars ?

It never even crossed my mind an RD28 block would go with the RB26 head. I love it!! 😁
They do this with the L-Series 6 cylinder to do 3.5 strokers.
from what I remember, there is a lot of work to get this working, its not like the RB30 where its virtually a drop in
@tjb_altf4 I'm sure it is, honestly if I was going for a bad boy engine the Nissan TB48 would be my choice.
@@Archetype_Datsun I wouldnt. Too much stroke, not rev-happy.
Fun fact: BMW B58 uses the B57 diesel block
Australians, "That was low boost. It's raining now and we're on slicks so I'm going to crank over to high boost." I love it! Lol
Aussies are a different breed man lol
With no Traction control too lol
Japanese people made the GTRs but the Aussies perfected it. What a beautiful beast.
It’s like the Japanese said fuck that car , we rather mess with German cars instead.
Utter nonsense. Australians love to make themselves seem more important than they actually are shits wild. Nothing Australia has done with the GTR comes even close to what Mines has done since the 90s. If you consider Supra then again nothing Australia has done with Supras compares to what legendary tuning houses like Amuse, Top secret etc had done way back in the day. This is a laughable claim.
Why are the aussies people so madly humble yet their builds are freakin insane
Because we're not stuck up yanks
@@stinkypete2327 this should be the definition of irony
@@stinkypete2327true honestly.
These days it’s rare to come across an intelligent gearhead who’s ultra humble and mellow.
Respect to David 🤙🏽!
Watch the entire Hoonigan this vs that Australia series. The comment section on every video is just about how humble the owners are for their absolutely monumental machines
@@boostbogan Will do!
Watch the one with the blown mustang, that episode is legendary!
You'll find that it's a very American thing the bickering and shit talking to fill big egos it's very annoying to watch. Australians are pretty chilled and humble and will give you the time of day. Rivalries are generally to one up the next bloke and in turn progress to get better and better. It's how it should be
Driver/Owner was such a nice dude. Humble, polite and really knowledgeable. 👏🏻👏🏻
That is one of the nicest fully modified gtr I’ve seen the updating interior is clean not thrown together or to small for the gauge cluster I love it !!!
That's the way people do things down here mate, it's gotta be clean, Rj in Oz
I am like you Larry, at a loss for words. Where do I even start with this video and car? I mean I thought the R34 you last featured was insane but this thing is insane on another level. The way the driver holds onto dear life when "giving it the beans" and that's on low boost, you'd think this was a FWD Civic pushing 500WHP with crazy torque steer but he's struggling to put that power down on full slicks, pretty damn crazy.
it was wet but still a beast of a car to handle
Rips an 8.5 first pass, what a legend
*kaboom!!*
"What's that?"
"Uh probably another GTR, or something.."
Seems like there's 8 second cars on every block there lol .
There is. I see big hp stuff every day. I’ve got a 600hp EF Falcon and that’s considered very average here
Also there’s obviously a bit of a car meet going on at the time of the video, and it’s in an area of tuner workshops, so there’s going to be cars doing runs nearby.
You throw a rock in any direction in Sydney and you’ll hit a high performance workshop. There are hundreds of car events every weekend.
@@izzy031096it's fucking hiliarious just how similar our American car culture is to the Aussie's.
@@chrismusiclover9893 It’s definitely different to my home countries (New Zealand) car culture which is almost exclusively JDM.

'Straya!!! Gotta wonder how this thing passes rego honestly.
This series has been amazing! Great work Larry!
It's crazy that everyone was going so much slower than the speed limit.
That's because Australia is full of fixed and mobile speed cameras; being 3km over the limit is enough to be fined a significant amount
@@thefallenlmc5158 imagine completely missing the joke.
@@FoShizzleMyPizzle 😂😂😂😂
@@FoShizzleMyPizzlehe probably thought you were being serious due to how common it actually is here. everyone on the roads drives so slow
5km over you mean. Don’t know where you are but 3km over has never been an issue in any state I’ve been in.
Mike M moan of the GTR passing made me cackle lol
Absolutely love this guys build. Plus he’s super chill. 🤘🏼
that shit caught me off guard 😂
Those aussies are wild ! I hope you will try a big Turbo Tb48 soon in a patrol of course !
I love how they explain this so casually lmaooo “RD28 stroker 3.2 Liter, RB26 Heads, Dry sump 😕”
insaneee amounts of money into these aussie gtr builds, INSANE money.
suspiciously large amounts.... lol
Crazy seeing in Sydney every second gtr has a precision built box and 3.2 stroker dry sump and now billet. Sooo much $$$

Larry! Pls tell your friend TommyFyeah Aussies have the best GTR’s. Not his pretty little bolt on cars.
aren’t his builds just for the oem aesthetic while still performing like a highly modified gtr?
@@KuhrmysI wouldn’t say performing. Nothing out of that shop has been finished. Not one car is fully tuned as far as I’ve seen.
@@Kuhrmyshis presentation is nice af though.
@@Tommyfitz01 tbf now you mention it other than his cars I haven’t seen a finished product leave his shop 🤣 I do think his taste is sick tho
Years ago I met an Aussie here in Philly. We became good friends through Volkswagens. It didn't matter the make of vehicle, he worked on it without a problem. He bought 2 Mazda 323's. One had a bad motor and a good manual transmission. Other had a good motor and auto trans. Must did a manual swap into the good motor car without blinking. Haha I helped with the pedal assembly, he was to big to fit under the dash. Lol
This power, put down, with no cage, is scary.
A 1G falling force equates to around a low 9 second quarter, if I remember correctly. So in fact, this accelerates faster than if you jumped off a building.
Australia: GTR capital of the world. 🇦🇺💪🏼
It accelerated so fast you felt like you started falling...upwards..... LOL!!!
That was great!...Never heard that before lol #LarryChen
Somatogravic illusion, 'head-up' in this case. This can happen in aerobatic aircraft, fighter/military aircraft but to experience this in a car says the acceleration is really something else
“That accelerated so fast, it felt like I was falling….upwards!” 🤘🏻🇦🇺 I need that on a T-shirt. “Does that make sense? Waaaitaminute” on the back 😂
Interesting, especially as it’s been alive at big power for so long. When all the RB blocks were hardness tested the 28 was the softest of the lot.
It’s an RD block, not RB
These videos just reassure that us aussies are the gtr kings
Dahtone Racing - Anthony is an absolute champion & a gentleman!!
Beadlocks are typically used in the RC world with high powered remote control cars…it’s a must - sooo awesome to see this technology on a real world car

Larry's G-Force meter getting a fair workout down under !!
I do something like that... my alluminium block break... anf i use the same desing of my block but... the iron diesel vers.... converssion from gas i do with one of my friends... on my peugeot 205 gti 1.9... I swapped the block... and now is 2.100cc, iron block, diesel internals (pistons and crank) stroked with hdi xud psa engine 😅😅😅, with turbo kit
Im a MASSIVE fan of analog gauges but that display os DOPE
I liked the fact that he went from telling us power numbers in KW straight to HP when he got to the big numbers.
Motech seems pretty awesome!
never seen anyone hold the steering wheel like that, and send it :S
In Australia we're down under!
Lol the comments that think this is a diesel😆🤦♂️ coz they are using a diesel block.

Those dash gauges are insane

if i had unlimited funds to build a streetable R32 this is prob what i would end up with. Absolute perfection on this build. So damn clean and dialed

What a setup. Such a cozy cockpit, so many functional buttons and other controls. So dope
That dude's laugh is infectious! His car is... well, I'm at a loss for words.
My god this thing is outrageous. Such a clean example and an absolute beast underneath and all the electronic equipment… so cool
The Datsun inline 6 L-Series engine done similar way we would use the LD28 diesel crank built a 3.0, 3.1, 3.2L stroker and some even took the LD28 block and make a 3.5L.
Watched this car evolve over the last few years. Davids car deff one hell of a beast.
That's incredible. Australians are a different breed when it comes to these builds. What brand digital dash is that? It looks awesome. Love the fog light button to change from quiet to loud

There's a few that have run that setup before RH9GTR had an RD block and twin turbos.

Are we just gonna look past the titanium hood prop? That's mint...
That headlight duct looks great.
The Australian automotive aftermarket scene is something to behold! The Aussies got the European hardware, and Japanese electronics and just want crazy with it. In the US we are beating a 3legged horse to death, screaming, needs more NOS! Needs more displacement!! It’s sad.
Most of the hardware in Oz is made in Oz for eg gearbox Holinger Albins PPG, the ECUs Haltech EMtron Motech, the billet blocks for RBs 2JZs 4G63s SR20s VR38s K20s from Bullet Engineering, Billet rotaries both from 2 companies both in Aus, ACL bearings, Nitto Crankshafts 3.2 wide journal now making over 3000hp the 2.8 stroker cranks etc, F1 spec Intercoolers from PWR, Artec and PRP, CPC, 6Boost, Hypertune for intakes and headers cam gears triggers kits etc etc etc
Bullet even offer a overspuare RB34 90x90 3400cc or even a RB36 3600cc
Bullet even make all the billet RB26 blocks that weigh 30kgs, try picking up the oem cast nissan block!!! (75kgs) that cracks at 1100hp+
In fact everything is made in Australia, the Japanese come to Oz for gearboxes and ECUs and billet blocks etc them and Europeans love the Holingers. Look at Garage Active Sakamotos san when he came to Australia GTR festival a few months back. He was blown away how far the Aussie RB scene is comapred to the rest of the world. We have the fastest GTRs in the world 6.37s faster than AMS and we have the fastest circuit GTRs by a country mile.
PRP are even casting an RB26 head which they claim will flow double the stock head, which arrives soon. They are also casting a new block with 8mm bore spacing not the 2mm oem cyclinder spacing that cracks like a MF
Billet 4wd sump and transfer cases and front diffs, billet rear 9inch diff from Brad at Racetech in conjunction with Holinger /watch?v=a-eYQlkMXrc
I will concieve this - the yanks know the 2JZs and K20s better than us but the AUssies are the king of Nissans
I love how that exact car that passed was featured in another video
hmm fascinating conversion .. makes me wonder about other possible options, toyota hz, benz om606, whatever the bmw is b58 i think .. all the fan-boys will cry, but an e85 6.7 cummins sounds just about right. I guess you'd have to install sparkplug ports and maybe de-stroke to loose some compression, but the sled-pulling guys run those setups at and above 150 psi through ridiculous compound turbo setups all day. Excellent food for thought
I don’t think you quite understand this build. The block is from a diesel engine which mates to a petrol RB top end. They are both RB series engines used in different applications. It runs petrol. The spark is all done in the head (top end) so nothing needs to be changed other than the fuel for the diesel block in all intents and purposes. The benefit is in the stronger design of the diesel and larger capacity.
@@jakerubino3233 I was a heavy equipment and diesel mechanic at a mine and previous to that I was a furniture moover and truck driver for 15 years. The diesel is in my blood my man. I guess the one thing I didn't get from the video is that there's a compatible gasoline head for the Nissan r series (which certainly simplifies things. in the mining world I've seen a few smaller engines converted from diesel or kerosene to gas, but I had never thought about anything bigger. Another question I had that the video didn't seem to answer was how they builder dealt with the compression issues, most diesels that I know run at more than 20:1. What I assume is that they've swapped to a de-stroked crank as well ... either way, very cool build
this should have been on hoonigans AU this vs that holy shit
