"Arthur "was such a sweet movie.Christopher Cross's voice just sparkles. My little brother never liked listening to music . When he heard "Sailing", the doors to his ears opened. He listened to it all the time. He had two songs he loved "Sailing",and "Tin Man", by America.

@@laotzu00 Glad he pulled through... I'm from Austin and we have a special place in our hearts for this guy. Did you ever notice that his guitar is so smallish... that's because Cross is so tall! lol.
@@roundrockrock I didn’t notice about the guitar, but that’s interesting! Maybe it was normal to me because I’m tall and once fancied myself a guitarist 😂
It's funny, I'm old enough to remember his music from back then, but as an adolescent, I didn't appreciate him or his music. As I've gotten older, I have realized what a great lyricist he was and how melodic his voice is. Since you seem to enjoy his music, you may like another singer named Dan Fogelberg, who's music was also more of adult contemporary. My favorite song from him was called "The Leader of the Band", you may want to check it out, even if you don't react to it, you may enjoy him as well.
I was a teenager too but I think this "rejection" was more from the boys... Girls used to appreciate this kind of music more. I knew a lot of girls at school who liked romantic singers like Christopher Cross, Lionel Ritchie, Air Suply and others... We boys preferred something more rock or techno... Evidently, with the passage of time we guys also started to appreciate this type of music more! 👍

Christopher Cross is one of my favorite singers from the 80s. His music is timeless. Another song that could probably sound simiar Sailing and this would be "Think Of Laura" from the album Another Page.
Very nice and soothing voice. Unusual artist very versatile. He opened for Led Zeppelin once and stood in for Richie Blackmore of Deep Purple for one night when he was taken ill. He made a lot of really good music, very talented 💙x
