    "Arthur "was such a sweet movie.Christopher Cross's
    voice just sparkles.
My little brother never liked listening to music .
When he heard "Sailing", the doors to his ears opened. He listened to it all the time.
He had two songs he loved "Sailing",and "Tin Man", by America.

It's funny, I'm old enough to remember his music from back then, but as an adolescent, I didn't appreciate him or his music. As I've gotten older, I have realized what a great lyricist he was and how melodic his voice is. Since you seem to enjoy his music, you may like another singer named Dan Fogelberg, who's music was also more of adult contemporary. My favorite song from him was called "The Leader of the Band", you may want to check it out, even if you don't react to it, you may enjoy him as well.

I was a teenager too but I think this "rejection" was more from the boys... Girls used to appreciate this kind of music more. I knew a lot of girls at school who liked romantic singers like Christopher Cross, Lionel Ritchie, Air Suply and others... We boys preferred something more rock or techno...
Evidently, with the passage of time we guys also started to appreciate this type of music more! 👍

I'm so impressed seeing the younger generation (I am 51yrs. young......lol Not old...."seasoned"), revisit some of the amazing "real" talent that I grew up with. All genres had sooo much talent throughout. Not the same drivel that floods the airwaves now( my opinion).......Beautiful woman and fantastic reactions. Absolutely. It was the best of the ROM-COMs of the day. Dudley Moore was just coming off his success with "10". (Although he was a star in Britain with his partner Peter Cook-"Pete & Dud" as they were called). And Christopher Cross had swept the Grammys that year. You couldn't go wrong with Burt Bacharach and Carole Bayer Sager so, what you had was a great hit. See the movie...NYC never looked better. P.S. it wasn't off the Christopher Cross album, it had it's own soundtrack album.
BTW, Moore was an outstanding pianist...check this out: ua-cam.com/video/1lzIHdXI4Pg/v-deo.html That him on piano.

Love this song, though it is sort of weird to see clips from from the film 'Arthur' (1981) and also see things from modern New York that either didn't exist then (like the new World Trade Centre) or are at least really changed (like Time Square.)
