CDS views and how End Users see data in S/4 HANA

great video. do you have thoughts on when to use a CDS view and when to use a Hana calculation view? I think CDS view is to be used for real-time operational reporting out of S/4 and a calc view is to be used for historic report from different systems like BW and CDS views

Musa Ali. As this is not my strong point, I asked a colleague to comment. Here is his answer... “CDS is a modelling approach to defining a virtual data model. For each view you define it creates a corresponding ABAP Data view (you can see this is tx SE11) as well as a HANA SQL view. With annotations you describe the required properties of the view. For example - if you wish the view to be a analytic query then on activation the S/4HANA system creates a transient query in the S/4HANA system.
CDS views can be consumed by SAP and third party BI tools.
BW/4HANA can use CDS views as a data source and also as Open ODS View .
In addition you could define a HANA calculation view that reuses the HANA View created by a CDS view.” I hope that helps.

You are showing what is your capability or showing only from end user prospective. You are not showing how to develop. So it was wasting of time to watch this
