- It's no surprise now that foreign idols get mistreated all the time in the Korean entertainment industry. Tzuyu is not an exception, and what makes it sad is that nobody talked about it until Tzuyu's mom's friend went on air and said it all.
Capcut kept removing audio at the end of the video; it took me about 2 hours trying to find the solution. Which I didn't. Maybe you guys have an idea why that happened? I was only able to get audio at the end of the video with Canva. So please subscribe, like, and comment on all this pain.

Tzuyu is a sweet person. There is nothing wrong with her representing where she is from. Those stupid haters need to shut up and leave her alone. Some people are too opinionated and hateful.

Unfortunately, the answer is simple; but quite dark.
I took this video/tzuyuz family friend, as it saying, "Tzuyu messed up that ONE time (and it wasn't even really her fault!) & now we see how she has been mistreated her entire career because of it! Justice and fairness for tzuyu!" And I mean, I'm all for that; but - it's not going to ever be that simple for her.
PLEASE, in order to understand this, you MUST do a quick Google search and educate yourselves at least a little bit on "what is going on between China and Taiwan". Right here I'll simplify it for my purposes; but please go find out the seriousness of this for yourselves!
So basically, China wants ownership/to unify the island of Taiwan with China. (China used to own Taiwan, blahblah, pls, the research you must do for yourself lol) anyways, China isn't getting what they want out of Taiwan. What they think they're owed, and Taiwan just wants left alone. So China literally starts flying fighter jets close to Taiwan & sailing Warships nearby - obviously to make a threat.
What's this got to do with Tzuyu? Well, had she waved the flag or not, her place in the group would likely still be exactly as it is today.
Tzuyu is a WORLD FAMOUS, beautiful, rich idol who is TAIWANESE. Tzuyu obviously still has family who reside in Taiwan.
OK well since China isn't getting their way, they could EASILY threaten Tzuyu with the safety of her family in Taiwan, and then force Tzuyu to speak in favor of China - a young, beautiful, talented young woman who is famous around the world? Whatever they could possibly FORCE tzuyu to say then, would obviously be a statement heard around the world. Millions of people would know; kpop familiar or Asian politics familiar or not.
That is a powerful (and absolutely awful) weapon for China to possibly wield.
To add on to all of this, jyp is a massive company with a huge economic standing in Korea, it would also reflect back badly on him and any other jyp affiliate if tzuyu were to possibly have too much attention on her from the wrong places - I'm talking about commie China here people, they're not hard to offend. Say tzuyu showed support for a certain fashion brand that China has renounced before? "How DARE a PRC Citizen, (that would be Tzuyu, despite us all knowing she's Taiwanese - the Giant political power with the warships and fighter jets will claim her as a PRC and never a Taiwanese), "how DARE she disgrace our nation by supporting this brand that our nation has clearly condemned before!?"
So it's basically almost as simple, and yet dark, as that explanation.
I mean the US is suspecting a war over there quite soon; possibly within 15 years or much less. It's actually really really sad what she might be having to balance and battle with behind the scenes when it comes to her career, her nationality, her family and her homeland. It's not just a simple "they didn't show her video, they didn't give her a brand deal!" Like this girl is quite possibly doing her damndest to live her dream as a famous idol, all while trying NOT to put anymore of a target on hers or her loved ones backs for ANY reasons!
Stand tall Tzuyu. You're an idol. The haters are nothing.

She should have done that to save her visual power from being put down to be the least attractive member. She basically was sabotaging herslef by renewing the contract with JYP in 2022. It was the bad decision. Now JYP is turning her into and old and ordinary girl idol by keep playing down her beauty with weired hairstyle and outfit.
ShuHua also have different treatment in CUBE. You can saw the big difference treatment betwen ShuHua and YuQi.
And I believe its about flags nationality.
In other hand, you can not denied Chinese market to buy the companies products.
First OT9 forever!! Now about the "shut up" incident 100% wasn't against Tzuyu, I can't recall the exact words used but members said something like "now the last words before leaving" and ppl failed in have more touch with their wording. The mistreatment it's by her company, for the Japanese version that's not just JYPE but Warner Music Japan who has the exclusive rights and other concessions for this country.
About solo activities it's a whole documentary in how the industry works but as fans it's impossible to really know what is happening behind doors. Oneces have the desire for solo albums of each member but also some of them had express they don't feel ready for it.
And of course the line distribution... ahh that's never fair but producers of many companies have told several times how works depending in the company but it's a combination of popularity, vocal range and tone most important (or was) thinking in live performances. I love Tzuyu but until now singing wasn't her strength, she has improve a lot and I hope she has the confidence of trying a solo album but we'll see.
Sorry for this long letter lol and thanks for cover it Gumiho almost no one is talking about it. And I think what Jihyo, the crew and the companies involved did it's disgusting, they cross the line with something JYPE should feel embarrassed about, so pitiful. I'm disappointed with Jihyo but I don't know if she talked to Tzuyu before acting up, I hope they can solve it tho.
And why do the Chinese bother Tzuyu when she is Taiwanese.

I'm with all those points except the last point, it's normal to change the mv, even in other big groups, the mv's alteration is actually an interesting thing to see. If it was a chinese version, I'm sure tzuyu would've appeared because she's more popular in china.
as i saw, not just foreign but even korean themself got mistreated. (remember bully case accuse.)

in 'sixteen' case, i'm totally agreed with JYP. think about Mina and Sana mental stage without Momo, as they are so close to each other (especially Sana) and about Tzuyu i can't picture her debut outside TWICE (not in bad way but people might misunderstand her a lot. thank to all TWICE's members and staffs) and these are all his trainee, they plan a group that hope to last as long as possible, not like 'producer 101' (which people might think members not pass the cut should not debut. and i know, a lot of contender are very strong and capable of, as you see many get debut eventually inside & outside JYPE)
the flag case by this reference don't even start by her but by other that use her act as his interpret (fair? why no one talk trash about him?), whose false is that? when they use it as 'political act' not be surprise that another need to act too. and that how attack begin.(always remember, china-mainland (actually every country in the world) have face to save too, always remember that.)
now with business point of view, how many choice she have, apologized or not (even 'independence' is her meaning or not) also how many choice JYPE have?
without apologized, every where she go could be interpret as 'act of independence' or not? (which mean a lot of anti and boycott)
a lot of 'securities issue' need to bring up more, or not? (cost)
so, yes, apologized might be the most easy way as to cool down the situation. (fair/not fair, a lot of thing need to consider, including Tzuyu career path)

so now what you should do, as company (with business need to be apply), and as Tzuyu herself. (and also think about her career after that)

I saw that video of her and the girls Sana, Momo and Mina! Including the "holding up" the flag situation. I saw ABSOLUTELY NOTHING wrong with her holding up both flags. It was after that! After that, where it was taken, taken OUT OF CONTEXT. Also including that "apology video", where her parents were involved with it as well. After seeing her in that video?
I just simply wanted to give her a hug, afterwards. It was her face expression that drove me to give it to her.

Essentially establishing this new system for every person in the world.
Another Girl's group and agency should come to Tzuyu's rescue with better treatment, or a brave promoter/manager/sponsor should organize her succeeding solo, if she thinks she is capable of that. She seems like a slave being taken advantage of. But if she is tough enough to handle things where she is, her present agency should repent and apologize for the short-changing and make it all better. Seems like the KPOP industry leaders would be capable of this, even with China-Taiwan politics and media issues.
