ScottishHomo I think the biggest problem are her low notes. She really did not manage to sing in a melodic way in many parts of her song. There was also a lack of emotion in her voice. Sometimes it sounded like she was rather speaking than singing. Her voice was breaking very often. Also she did not hit the high notes perfectly. I still think the backing vocalists should be removed or replaced by better ones, and not only female, but also male. Overall it was a messed up performance. She has the best song of all, but compared to the studio versions she had by far the weakest performance of all qualifiers. The difference between the studio version and the live version was huge. IF she manages to close that gap between studio version and live version, she can do well and end up in TOP 10, with a perfect live performance as strong as the studio version or even stronger she may even win. But the last thing I said is very unlikely to happen as she obviously has a structural struggle in live performance. But today, in addition to the structural struggle in her live performance, she was also very nervous which weakened the performance on top of that. I don't think any longer that she has realistic chances to win Eurovision. I think there is only an unrealistic chance if she gives a performance as strong as studio version or better and that seems almost impossible. So all have a good night. The song is still the best of all songs.

My favourite this year, along with Georgia! I know Elhaida from ''The Voice'', and she was on our festival in Montenegro called ''Sunčane skale'' years ago, and I know this isn't the best of her, not even a half. She has an incredible voice, maybe she was just nervous, or something else. I'm glad that she made it through the finals. Go Elhaida! Greets from Montenegro. :)

She's been singing this f*ckinly amazing song for the past consecutive days! This song is not easy to endure, perhaps the most difficult song to sing this year! You have this more than 2 minutes of high notes she has to sustain, and how she managed to pull it off by this time is just EPIC! The day before this performance she totally nailed her Jury performance! And personally, I liked how rusty her high notes here, it sounded more real and dramatic for the "woman who will no more cry". For such a small country we have produced way to many international super stars that are on the charts around the world right now like Rita Ora, Bebe Rexha, Action Bronson and so many great albanian singers that are signed to big labels in the USA and the UK. Her vocals were a bit weak at parts and the performance wasn't the greatest, but the song is awesome and I adore it! Congratulations Albania and good luck in the final
I don't know how the hell she got through. Maybe her performance was better when the jury gave their votes. Honestly this was so bad it may have been the worst live performance in Eurovision from the last decade. And don't go bullshit on me saying that she was "a little off at times" she was butchering her own song.
Are you kidding me? Do you know how hard this song is? It's her fault to choose a super hard song that doesn't sound so hard. The opposite with Russia, she has an easy to sing live song, but that to the average singer sounds super hard. Elhaida is a product of live music. She has won the voice of Italy and every single talent show she's participated in 10 countries around the Balkans. The fault is in the song and that moment in time. She'll do better in the finals.

Elhaida, if you read this, please know that you have a great song. We are not angry that you did not perform well on Tuesday and we would not be angry if you do not perform well on Friday and Saturday. You have proven that you can sing, otherwise you would not have won The Voice of Italy for example. And we all know that the song is very difficult to sing. When you sing we do not judge you as person. The people in the arena and at home like your song so much. It's ok if you are nervous on that stage, it's so human. And even if you would not perform well again, it would be ok. Please see the performance on Friday and Saturday as bonus performances. See it as an extra thing you may want give to us. Or maybe think of a concert.

ya I know how it feels, most of us addicted to the studio version, the live vocal cant be the same as the studio version we have to accept it. this song is very difficult to sing especially the C part. I think Elhaida wasnt in the right tone in the middle of the song but she did a great job for the semi final and im sure she will do it better in the final and win the eurovision cause her song is just the best.
This performance wasn't really good, because the song is really difficult and too fast (try to sing a little bit of it), but she's good live (listen her slowed down version w/ piano of this song), she won the voice of italy. She slayed Mama Knows Best by Jessie J at the voice.
It is just fast. She doesn't have any problem to reach those notes and when they recorded it she did great. But when you have to sing the full song which switches from low to high notes and it is fast, then it's normal that everything is more difficult.

I was a really big fan of this song up until this but she was painfully out of tune!! She seemed in pain at the start. Is she sick or what?? Based on this performance I would have to say she didn't deserve the final. And Netherlands did!!

She covered it, (or close enough) on the second half of the song, which for me is the most difficult one (from all the competitors of this year) ... Still need improvement in the final (especially the backvocals)
I think her voice is magical. She has been rehearsing a lot and this might have affected her voice a bit. This song is very demanding. Try to sing it and you will agree with me.

I don't think she was half as bad as everyone makes out and she definitely deserved to qualify, she's stunning, and has a brilliant voice, surely this wasn't her best because she would be saving her voice, but I can guarantee she will do even better on Saturday and hopefully win! To all saying her voice is bad... lemme say something chile. She won Voice of Italy and is very popular in Italy. Before the night of semi-final she got cold and still risked to sing and sacrificed for her country. After Eurovision was over,she got infection in her throat because she sung while being sick. Dont judge so fast. She deserves more periodt.
As someone who has seen Elhaida actually sing live and as someone who has followed her other performances I assure everyone she's truly talented. The live performance unfortunately wasn't at the level it should have been. I don't know if she was sick or didn't practice enough, I just know she'll learn from this incident and actually give a worthy performance on the finals. Elhaida, step up your game gurl! So many talented people this year. I personally think that this year will be truly special.

Honestly, I'm Alive is one of my favorite songs this year since the first moment I listened every single one of them. Her voice is extremely gorgeous delicate but powerful at the same time, she makes me feel the song, maybe because she always performs with her heart and I seriously can feel it!! I'm proud of her and I know she's gonna perform so much better next saturday, in such a perfect way because I can see she's really perfeccionist. I don't know how the hell she got through. Maybe her performance was better when the jury gave their votes. Honestly this was so bad it may have been the worst live performance in Eurovision from the last decade. And don't go bullshit on me saying that she was "a little off at times" she was butchering her own song.

Are you kidding me? Do you know how hard this song is? It's her fault to choose a super hard song that doesn't sound so hard. The opposite with Russia, she has an easy to sing live song, but that to the average singer sounds super hard. Elhaida is a product of live music. She has won the voice of Italy and every single talent show she's participated in 10 countries around the Balkans. The fault is in the song and that moment in time. She'll do better in the finals.

Elhaida, if you read this, please know that you have a great song. We are not angry that you did not perform well on Tuesday and we would not be angry if you do not perform well on Friday and Saturday. You have proven that you can sing, otherwise you would not have won The Voice of Italy for example. And we all know that the song is very difficult to sing. When you sing we do not judge you as person. The people in the arena and at home like your song so much. It's ok if you are nervous on that stage, it's so human. And even if you would not perform well again, it would be ok. Please see the performance on Friday and Saturday as bonus performances. See it as an extra thing you may want give to us. Or maybe think of a concert.

ya I know how it feels, most of us addicted to the studio version, the live vocal cant be the same as the studio version we have to accept it. this song is very difficult to sing especially the C part. I think Elhaida wasnt in the right tone in the middle of the song but she did a great job for the semi final and im sure she will do it better in the final and win the eurovision cause her song is just the best.

This performance wasn't really good, because the song is really difficult and too fast (try to sing a little bit of it), but she's good live (listen her slowed down version w/ piano of this song), she won the voice of italy. She slayed Mama Knows Best by Jessie J at the voice.
It is just fast. She doesn't have any problem to reach those notes and when they recorded it she did great. But when you have to sing the full song which switches from low to high notes and it is fast, then it's normal that everything is more difficult.
However, after re-watching her live performance, i think she did great, she was amazing. Only few differences between the official song.

I think her voice is magical. She has been rehearsing a lot and this might have affected her voice a bit. This song is very demanding. Try to sing it and you will agree with me.

Before the night of semi-final she got cold and still risked to sing and sacrificed for her country. After Eurovision was over,she got infection in her throat because she sung while being sick. As someone who has seen Elhaida actually sing live and as someone who has followed her other performances I assure everyone she's truly talented.
The live performance unfortunately wasn't at the level it should have been. I don't know if she was sick or didn't practice enough, I just know she'll learn from this incident and actually give a worthy performance on the finals.
