    Great video, I don't know if 212 does it on my behalf but I got the 15% rate automatically. 75% of something is better than 100% of nothing ;)

    I did hear that whilst the ISA is not recognised by the US ,a UK pension is. Perhaps a SIPP is the way to go if that 15 pc rankles.

    Could you make a similar video regarding other nations? What would I pay if I bought Adidas from Germany or Nintendo from Japan?

    Hi Peter, hope you can help me with the following question
    How much in total tax is payable by a NON US company based in Malaysia that received dividend from US companies listed on US stock market via its subsidiary in Bulgaria which have tax treaty agreement with US. So basically the dividend flow is like this:
    US - Bulgaria - Malaysia (Labuan)
    Thank you.

    Hey Pete, a quick thought: since UA-cam and the other social media are not going to do sh*t about scammers and impersonators, it could be beneficial to put an easy to read disclaimer at the beginning and at the end of your videos reminding people not to send money to anyone, as you mentioned a couple of days ago.

    Why can't we trade options (put, naked, covered, call etc) in the UK? I get different answers wonder if there is a proper reason for this

    • @conversationofmoney
      @conversationofmoney  2 роки тому

      You can if you find a trading platform. I don’t trade so can point. you in the right direction.

      @@conversationofmoney That's the thing - I've asked more than 10 UK brokers none offered it or could suggest one that does. They push their CFD platform which as you know is gambling with high spreads, it's rigged against the traders (gamblers) in my opinion. IG UK also mentioned their spread betting platform.
      The US-style option trading has other benefits and functions

    #answermethis Hi, can you please answer where I can see "Withhold Tax" for VUSA or VWRL ETF-s? I am using Interactive Brokers and for ETF-s there is no withhold tax. Is there any document or? Thx.

    Does this tax still apply, and at what point do I need to complete the W8 BEN form, before or after I receive the dividend payment?

    #ANSWERMETHIS I failed to submit w8ben and that resulted in my withholding tax on my dividend for tht FY 22, is there a way for me to recover it from irs? if yes do you have any relevant video or something that can guide me to claim my refund through irs, i dont reside in US but reside in india

    • @conversationofmoney

      @@conversationofmoney oh okay, my broker told me apply it and it would avoid withholding the tax. But since my tax for 2022 is already withholded i wanted steps to claim the refund of the same.

    Trading212 always takes more than 15% from me. They say it's withholding tax plus additional costs. I tell them that's already been taken in the US by the company, but they don't listen. DISGRACEFUL T212

    • @conversationofmoney
      @conversationofmoney  2 роки тому

      They might have a charge. You should ask them for a breakdown of those cost

      @soundslight7754 2 роки тому

      @@conversationofmoney I've repeatedly done and never received, also enquired about my shareholder voting rights, they said they'd get back to me, am still waiting. T212 heavily relies on scripted generic answers in their library so you'd get the same reply if you ask different questions or request clarification. It doesn't help that my Bulgarian is non existing

      @@soundslight7754 Hmm this always the issue with using a free service. They haven’t invested in customer services. Regardless, they have to provide you with a breakdown of charges.
