This was the last great E.C. Glass Football team of the 90's. We had some good ones in the 80's and 90's

I was also at this game, my dad played for Mike smith in the 60's before he went to vietnam. and he was a HUGE crabber fan and turned me into one in the 90s. we would always go to big games, and leave at half time cuz the score was almost always 49-0 at the half lol. Ronald Curry was basically unstoppable.

Would you happen to have the 1990 State Championship game vs Gar-Field? More specifically do you have the Brawl?
A friend of mine is in charge of the Gar-Field’s Hall of Fame. They are inducting a man, who was a longtime Booster. A firefighter professionally. He was on the sideline as a statistician for the program and he supposedly was carrying two at a time out of the brawl.

and they fulfiled it. I went to every playoff game, and most of the regular season games for those 3 years with my dad growing up. Curry was the chosen one.... but like anakin skywalker he turned to the dark side(jk not really, but it shoulda and coulda been him not vick).

@TheBallHawkShowPodcast Thanks. I am not from VA but I spent alot of time there in Tidewater in the Navy and went to see Hampton play once in person against First Colonial in the 1988 playoffs. Hampton crushed them but I think First Colonial got revenge the next year against them in the state playoffs
I think when First Colonial beat Hampton in 1989 they were the first south side team to beat Hampton in well over 10 years. I think Smith is legendary and probably second best ever to Tommy Knotts of NC and SC. Knotts has 15 state titles and an incredible 22 state championship game appearances in 40 seasons. Won 109 straight games at one time coaching Independence in Charlotte from 2000 to 2007.
