- Hearing voices can be a scary thing, but did you know it can also provide comfort to some? Why is such an experience regarded as a gift in some cultures but a diagnosable condition in others? Host Shannon Eliot chats with Adrian Bernard, a mental health advocate and peer support worker in Santa Cruz County, about the concept of hearing voices - the good, the bad, and what most people don't know.

Mental health is poorly managed in United States esp in NY. I wish I could reach to this guy and ask his opinion about my situation with my family member since the doctor who is involved is not helping and I have been desperate for help.

This way of being is not a pathology. It is a different and valuable human experience. For some people, it can be very difficult, but this is true of every iteration on the human condition. It feels not right that we have called this a disease to be cured.
I often hear a tender voice saying my name until i pay attention and then followed by an "im with you" or an "I'm Here" and it feels like the sound is in my breath. really weird.

Those doctors are not trying to treat anything if they keep telling you that it's all in your head. If anything they'll only make it worse by putting you on meds with side effects that are far worse than the symptoms which they are designed to treat.
This is how I see my voice... it's part of me, i carry on. But as an individual whose voice was never bad, i guess i dont feel like its been a hardship at all.

I hear the voices in 2002, and as a professional it was horrible. I was victim of a phychotronic weapon and mind control. Thank God, somehow getting closer to God and his commandments, made the mind game invalid and they stopped bugging and sending messages. I am back to my profession and doing really well. Although I know ppl has mental problems; most of them are victims of mind control experiments. My heart goes to them.

I have a group of negative voices and then a group of voices that try to guide and help me… the negative voices are the ones I am working on silencing and so far not bad but I wish there were medications to give me back my peace of mind

Listen to yourself and do what you know is right. The good and bad voices may be coming from the same hidden spirit. Pay attention to those voices, in order to remain incognito they will do their best to follow the rhythm of a sound that currently has your attention in oder to give its target the impression of coming from inside their head.They also follow the movement of your feet while you're walking. The angels and the trickster is "good cop bad cop". Loving these horrible lying voices is Stockholm Syndrome. If we humble ourselves and ask God for wisdom and understanding, He will give it freely. Many times we seek after earthly wisdom to gain insight into our dilemmas, however, the wisdom that God gives is a greater, spiritual wisdom. Read the Psalms or listen to them, especially at bedtime here on UA-cam, or through an audiobook app. My “thorn in the flesh” is labeled as major depressive disorder, but I have found that meditating on the Scriptures brings me much peace and comfort. I do hear voices. Mostly narrative to what I'm doing. Very nosey and can be loud and obnoxious. I can't even feel comfortable in my own home and know if I move, that will not help, but I sure am going to move eventually anyway.The energy in my apartment feels so dark and heavy. Out of sight, out of mind. New place, new positive energy..though I realize I know the voices will still be around but maybe I could take better control with something to look forward to for myself. Just a new change.

Voices can sometimes come from inner dissociated parts of the self, lookup Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID), or they can come from external spirits. Lookup telepathic hypnosis and spirit possession. Dissociated inner parts can be re-integrated and externals can be removed. There is no reason to live with voices when solutions are available.
this guay explains it very good, when i first told my doctor at the mental house they start to think i was retarded, that was telling them lots of crap just to take free from work.. they just injected me whit very high doses of risperdal but the voices dont go away,. im so pissed off cos they think im an drug addict, and its my guilty conscience that are talking to me and every one hear voices... there used to be a time when i cold think and dream whitout listening to all this conversation about all the stupid things i do all the time..
