Collard greens are one of my favorite wraps too. You did a excellent job showing how to prepare them. I like your filling choices, the fillings are limitless. I normally blanch my collards, I like your quick tip with the wet leaf and pan.
For viewers who enjoy Mexican tamales, I recommend using collard green or cabbage leaves. Many people use corn husks for wrapping their tamales o banana leaves, but cabbage leaves are more locally available than banana leaves and collard greens taste better than corn husks. A wrapping for a tamal can be any large edible plant leaf.
Great video. Have you ever done the steaming technique on all the collards and tossed the extra back into then fridge? Or, how well would a completed roll store in the refrigerator?
I went to a restuarant where they wrapped my burger up with the collard green! Now I have to try it haha thank so much the video is super easy to follow! Trying soon!
@@EatingBirdFood Also, now that I made this - is the collard green leaves supposed to be bitter? My first time eating them. Makes a great wrap! I sauteed them a bit to make them softer.
So I need carbs in there. I’m Gluten free. I got rice noodles? Any ideas of recipes I can use with the noodles, thinking about putting them in the wrap ?
you could do quinoa! and maybe some sweet potato / reg potato? Also for the noodles try your favorite stir fry sauce like teriyaki or sweet and sour and then add some story fry veggies!
i have been eating collard for years. in fact we have them in our family farm and NEVER have we ever eaten them raw. infact no one in my country eats them raw... i think ill try it. my husband will think i am crazy
The additional protein is NOT necessary. All the other ingredients you used contain more than enough protein. All humans need as far as protein goes is the amount provided in human breast milk that is about 6%. Did you know TOO MUCH protein is very very harmful to you? Look up the "dangers of too much protein". In fact the longest lived people on earth consume very little protein - under 10% of their total calories and they often live to 150, 200 and sometimes 250 years old. They of course are the Hunzas, Vilcabambans and sometimes the Abkhasians. Americans on the other hand seem to be obsessed with "getting enough protein" and are riddled with chronic and degenerative diseases as a result of getting too much fat and too much protein and too much processed sugar and chemical additives.
Good luck finding the collard greens if you are not in a big city or close to a farmer’s market. Almost impossible. It amazes me that these people will make a video with ingredients that are almost impossible to find at a store. Nice video though.
The video is great, but this is more of a vegetarian dish. I need some meat in there. Chicken, beef, pork, something. I'm not a vegetarian, I have no intentions of becoming one.
@@ashleynjackashley9511 .... I just love when people tell me to keep my comment to myself. You could have just not even commented on my comment. I could say a lot of things in my defence, but I'm not here to fight with anyone. I saw the video, it's not for me, and that's all there's to it.
Delicious! I'm gonna try this recipe! Keep making this type of videos with recipes please!
I have late night cravings, this is a perfect healthy option! I am going to try it!

I also like to roll an Asian type slaw in the collard leaf and dip in peanut sauce😀
Bought collard and cabbage today for first time in years!
I’ve always wondered how people made these...the wraps look amazing!
You can blanch these to make them more pliable.
Great tip, thank you!

I wish you would’ve showed how are you put them in the hot pan.
Great video demonstration
These are interesting. I can't say how they taste, but I'm going to give them a try, for I eat too much dough. Thanks for this outstanding notion.
I can’t wait to hear how you enjoy this recipe!
did you try it?
What kind of knife do you use? I'm getting more into healthy cooking.
I use Shun Cutlery knives. Highly recommend, I love them!

Of course! Thank you for being here!
This would make an awesome snack! low calorie, low carb and healthy.
best collard wrap i have had is at Under the Sun in Long Beach CA
Is there something I can dip this in?
Would it be possible to get an ingredients list posted in text form (not video or audio) at the bottom of the video description?
Great idea took notes I’m going to try it! Thanks 🙂
I grow this leafy green in my backyard, now I know what to do with them
Do they grow without any care for them?
Awww sweet Jesus your adorable. Nice no pressure recipe and if I mess it up I’ll just say I was making a salad lol 😅

I’d add rice noodles, tofu strips, green onion, cilantro, and mint like a traditional summer roll.
Thank you!
Of course!
Do yiu have to boil the collrd leaf to sofren?
How is your fat loss goal going Brittany ? Are these wraps helping to keep your caloric intake lower ?
Nice knife work
Great content!! 😃😃
How well they do hold together?
Sooo trying this
Where can you buy collars green leaves?
Daphne Sears The grocery store. Literally everywhere has collard greens
Maybe Daphne is British - we don’t have collard greens.
@@leavesofchange thank you
Im not a vegan just I recently changed my diet to mostly vegetarian meals
This will be perfect!
👍👍

i have been eating collard for years. in fact we have them in our family farm and NEVER have we ever eaten them raw. infact no one in my country eats them raw... i think ill try it. my husband will think i am crazy
Really? You'll have to try it and let me know what you think!!
@@EatingBirdFood finally tried them 😋... they actually taste good. we will be eating them both raw and cooked from now on. thank you for the recipes
What's a hummus?
You look just like this lady in Beauty Shop w Queen Latifah they were in the bathroom together.
I guess you can cook them. I'd rather just eat it raw. Eat 1 whole leaf raw.
