A lot of them would magically get hurt, and sit out the weekend. Like Dynamo said this players are too "b*tch made" and have too much ego to get embarrassed in a 1v1 game. Their brand might get exposed in a 1v1 game, and they fear that the most.
here is one huge point that its not talked about enough. these guys dont want to get exposed. their egos are so fragile that the thought of getting dunk on or having some other player score or stop them is terrifying. this is why this is a weak era, this is why we never saw huge leapers like lebron join the slam dunk contest. they are afraid of what people might say, they are afraid that they might look dumb or that they might fail. thats why you have morant pretending to be a gangster, because in the end he is a fragile baby that is to afraid to take a real chance at being great.
The Allstar Game used to have unwritten rules where you just messed around and had fun in the first half to put on a show but tried to play to win in the second half. The competition is absent.
The players continue to be more and more entitled while the salary cap rises at an exponential rate each season. So they are essentially rewarded for poor behavior.

The solution to the NBA problem sis take away there money. That’s the only thing players care about as they don’t want to play all regular season games or All star games. Watch a player earning 50 million a year suddenly start getting 10 million suddenly take the game more seriously. Then stop paying rookies max contracts and have them earn it after three to five years. Then have referees actually call fouls on the fundamentals game. All the travelling, carrying the ball, flipped etc. Finally bring back hand checking they have too. I bet the three pointer won’t be shoot a am in if they had proper defence in place again Don’t invent in season tournaments and pay them more or change the all star game and once again pay them more again. They are spoil divas that no one wants to watch anymore
All Star game should be about conference home court advantage during the NBA Finals. Then I guess the coaches would advise players to put some effort into the game, but maybe I'm wrong.
Commish, this is awesome. I've always loved that scene in Iron Man bc of the fervor which the man spoke with. It's such a perfect scene to attach the same fervor people feel for the failure of the league to. Great understanding of the scene 🙏
I bet if KD and other players like him were told if he or they make the most points in the game on his team after the all star game he can pick any trade deal to sign with a different team
I’m 100% watching high school sectional playoffs over the NBA All Star Weekend, wayyy more entertaining. High schoolers who may never get to the league are trying harder than people getting payed millions to play.
1:00 the irony of having NBA players hate this new format is crazy because when we went back to the original one, they still didn't try enough. They want to ease their way into All-Star games but hate when people aren't watching
Make the All-Star game solely based on the coaching staff and player personnel and it will matter again. The NBA All-Star game has been a popularity contest and not a badge of honor. Make the winner get home court for their conference. Actual stakes will fix it.
luxury is the death of professionality. if wealth and fame and are the primary motivations, once the ends are achieved, a person who's not motivated by the process itself will become motivated by something else. the old-money elite understands this very well and each successive generation struggles to raise children whose relationship to luxury does not impede their ambitions to acquire even more of it.
First and foremost, Commissioner Dynamo this is another fantastic video from you! I hope you're doing well, but to the topic of the video. I said this on another video that the NBA needs to just turn All Star weekend into a more fan service type of event. The players don't want to play in the game, barely want to do the dunk contest at all. The 3 point contest will never not be fun because that's basically what the league is to a certain degree. All Star weekend needs to be like a Comic-Con/Charity event. You can keep the rising stars game and all the other stuff but maybe have fans and kids be able to be in that kind of stuff! Like that would be the ultimate fan experience rather than sitting there and watching a game where the best players in the world don't care enough to compete. They don't want to play fine, have them be available for different meet and greets, autograph signings, raffles, etc. Now my idea may not sound like the best but imagine if they made like a charity stream for the all-star game and include former legends and such. Again this is something we shouldn't need but the lack of effort in the actual game is the problem, not the format. 1v1s will never happen, 3v3s also won't happen because that involves a lot of ego being put to the side and not becoming a meme or tik tok material... Again this is just my opinion and an idea, it's not great and I'm aware the NBA wouldn't financially do it but hey I tried 😂
I really appreciate your content, Commish. You do accomplish that goal of yours with me, always getting a day brightener from your stuff. Thanks for that, man.
If people can care about the In Season Tournament, but not the All Star game, there's a problem. The All Star game can't be fixed if the players don't care.
They need to add incentives beyond monetary compensation and "bragging rights" for players. Extra rest before the playoffs or extra home games for winning the in-season tournament for example. It needs to be a genuine advantage for players to care. Not sure how fix the All-Star problems, they don't want to get clipped and put on insta and don't care about the fans.
Hey Commissioner Dynamo, I would rather watch Ice Spice’s and Taylor Swift’s music videos from their recent albums than to watch the 2025 NBA All-Star Game next year!
Thank you for putting out genuine from the heart content about something you love being destroyed by money and egos. I hope one day the nba makes the necessary changes to be exciting to watch again
Typical cowardly Adam Silver and the gutless owners missing the core issue yet again. The players are the ISSUE, not the setup and game itself. It's these spoiled divas refusing to put in any effort whatsoever to play with actual excitement and some level of defensive resistance. They need to stop voting in Bron too. He creates a loosey goosey let's just have fun without any compete level tone that other younger players follow. He's a terrible standard for the game. The NBA needs a new face that is a true fiery competitor to set the tone for these All-Star games. This game is a joke because of these players treating it like a jogging 3-point contest. Nothing ever exciting happens in these games anymore. Not a single highlight I can recall from an all-star game in the last 5 years now besides that one competitive one in 2021. That's it.
Exactly all of what you said is true. Also people act like they scared to say something negative about LeBron. Amazing player but he's obviously more concerned with his personal brand than playing winning basketball.
It's not only the All Star game that lost the viewers and the fans but the NBA as a whole thing. Before I was watching whole match, then I watched only play off, then only youtube hightlights of the matchs I wanted to see, and now I dont watch a single thing cause it feels like it's not about basketball anymore, the game comes second : the money is first. Basically increase the quality of movies (Players) in your theatre (NBA) and it will be a more enjoyable experience. Too many players in today’s league dont respect the history of the NBA enough to even deserve wearing an ASG Jersey. Every recent change to ASG format as well as the NBA has declined viewership so obviously it’s the people destroying the game and not the game itself
Problem is the All-Star game has been, and still is, the pinnacle of the game. Today's game is nothing but 3's and layups and the All-Star game is the current best version of that, it just absolutely sucks for true fans who watched 90's all-star games and saw the pinnacle of the team game with all the variations of playing styles.
Bird/Magic then Michael Jordan who opened all revenue and popularity flood gates alongside David Stern left a league with all time highs across the board.. Kobe Duncan Shaq and KG etc weren't up to that level but they atleast held it down basketball and product wise. what does Steph/KD/LBJ and Adam Silver have to show for? they have been the face of the league for the past 15+ years. lets take a look : no defense being played so scoring is inflated and is meaningless, ratings cratering, spoiled stars, no fundamentals, same scheme of play from all teams, boring style of play with tons of three pointers layups and free throws, no rivalries cause everyone is buddy buddy with one another, the super team era, all star game is dead, dunk contest is dead, load management.. the list goes on and on PATHETIC.
All of this from the players is not necessarily because of ego. Its because All Star Weekend is closer to the playoffs. Why would someone risk getting injured if playoffs are right around the corner? Its not worth sacrificing for a potential injury just because of their pride or ego. In my garbage opinion, if they want players to show some legimate effort, they should move All Star Weekend towards the beginning of the season every year. Then there would be something to prove, only problem is what happens with the players who prove themselves during the season? They have to wait for next year... there really isnt any simple solution for this, I can salute a man who tries tho
Feels like the only way to save the All Star game at this point is to do white players vs black players. Nothing like a good ol' race war to stir up excitement
I emailed the NBA an idea. East vs West, Top 3 contributors of the winning team and top contributor of the losing team earn a W and a day off for their respective teams (from different teams). Whenever two of those four teams are supposed to play later in the season, they cancel the game or do something else like a media day or some fun 3v3 1v1s from those teams but get Ws in their columns. Hopefully that amounts to a competitive and entertaining all-star game at the sacrifice of two games later in the season.

The 1 vs 1 is a brilliant idea. The only way to get them to care is to put their egos on the line. We know how much they love their brand.
A lot of them would magically get hurt, and sit out the weekend. Like Dynamo said this players are too "b*tch made" and have too much ego to get embarrassed in a 1v1 game. Their brand might get exposed in a 1v1 game, and they fear that the most.
Ya know they ain't gonna participate in that. Just look at the dunk contest for reference lol
here is one huge point that its not talked about enough. these guys dont want to get exposed. their egos are so fragile that the thought of getting dunk on or having some other player score or stop them is terrifying. this is why this is a weak era, this is why we never saw huge leapers like lebron join the slam dunk contest. they are afraid of what people might say, they are afraid that they might look dumb or that they might fail. thats why you have morant pretending to be a gangster, because in the end he is a fragile baby that is to afraid to take a real chance at being great.
Adam Silver gotta go!
The problem with the nba, is the head commissioner hasn't been replaced aka Adam silver
enough is enough is enough IS ENOUGH with these all star changes
But mainly, the players not changing
The Allstar Game used to have unwritten rules where you just messed around and had fun in the first half to put on a show but tried to play to win in the second half. The competition is absent.
Playing in chuck Taylor’s on a dentist salary!!!
Yo you are a legend😂
Well if the players have a shit about anything then we wouldn’t have to do this. If they would compete and go to the dunk contest.
Don’t save it, it don’t wanna be saved. Don’t save it. 🎶
The players continue to be more and more entitled while the salary cap rises at an exponential rate each season. So they are essentially rewarded for poor behavior.
Crazy thing is the TV deals were massive overpays that won't be repeated. I'm sure they'll get by just fine, but they are in for a rude awakening.
This title alone already has me laughing 😂
Baddies in every courtside seat is unironically the only way I can see these players actually compete.
💀💀💀
It’s not the format yall, it’s the effort from the player!!!!!
"Okay boomer" sent my ass😂
It's like walking into the ER with a stab wound on your stomach and instead of dealing with it they start putting bandages on the scrape on your arm from doing some lawn work 😂 They just won't deal with the actual problems and just try this kinda bs to make up for it. It's gonna kill this league.
Did David Stern truly believe Adam Silver was the best pick as a protoge? Because he's slowly torn down the league Stern tried to build out of the drug ridden disgrace it was when he became commissioner. The league was Gotham and he was like Gordon. Now the clown ruining the state of things is Adam himself
This is the most rose-colored glasses view of David Stern I've ever seen. The man was not Jesus Christ and had plenty of problems that were way more insidious than Adam Silver's collection of silly ASG gimmicks.
What is Tim Donaghy for 500
Michael Jordan built the NBA...(For the most part) It took a lil while but the NBA is going the way of baseball and boxing
@@TommyTomTompkinsand soccer will have a massive impact and boost for it... Take advantage of a sports organizations mistakes. Just like Nelson Piquet did when he got 3 F1 drivers championships in the 1980s. Why? Exactly what he did... NBA is gonna be eaten off their own carcass by the folks that are waiting for a fall... Guess whooooo...?
Not the NFL, MLB or even the NHL...
The dark horse arises... ⚽
It’s because it’s a Jewish league so the commissioner must always be one.
I bet the three pointer won’t be shoot a am in if they had proper defence in place again
Don’t invent in season tournaments and pay them more or change the all star game and once again pay them more again.
When you thought they have hit rock bottom, they dug again beneath their feet 😂
Louis Litt from Suits... Heavy artillery
They won't play 1 game properly, why would he think more games is the answer?
The problem is the players ie LeBum, Davis, Durant, and some egotistical players that are spoiled rotten.
If people can care about the In Season Tournament, but not the All Star game, there's a problem. The All Star game can't be fixed if the players don't care.
How the players hate it?!? It’s their fault!!!
I'm absolutely sick of hearing about the money the players are getting. I just want to watch sports.
You can change the car, but if the driver doesn't like driving, it won't matter in the end.
Damn, even the players hate it, the NBA is cooked
What’s better the all star weekend or nfls pro bowl games?
Hey Commissioner Dynamo, I would rather watch Ice Spice’s and Taylor Swift’s music videos from their recent albums than to watch the 2025 NBA All-Star Game next year!
atp don't even select the dudes that don't wanna play
Crazy to me that players give more effort in offseason runs than they do the allstar game
Contracts need more inventives. No more guaranteed money for sub par players
You know what they should do? Fine players if they lose the game. 7 figure donations to charity.
the solution was so simple: East vs West, winner gets homecourt in the finals. if you want the game to be meaningful, make it meaningful
All star game has nothing to do with the actual teams. Wouldnt be fair, and puts even less emphasis on the regular season.
When your trying to motivate networks of $100m+ by paying them $100k if they win... that's like 23 cents for them
Fans: “hey can yall play a competitive game with some defense?”
Best Basketball players in the world: “nah”
It's not only the All Star game that lost the viewers and the fans but the NBA as a whole thing. Before I was watching whole match, then I watched only play off, then only youtube hightlights of the matchs I wanted to see, and now I dont watch a single thing cause it feels like it's not about basketball anymore, the game comes second : the money is first. And when you are at minimum wage or even just at a normal human being wages, watching multi millionaires plays like this is just not a thing that can be appreciated.
I got people playing harder at random pick ups games, and I'd rather watch those...
Let me see if I can come up with anything to bitch about regarding your videos Dynamo... Nope, can't think of anything. Keep up the good work.
Thanks a lot! If you ever do though I value the criticism. I'm always trying to do better

World versus North America (Canada+USA) would be much better ! Also they do not realize those guys do not want to play 1 game for real in All Star Week End in the first place !!. So now the league want them to have to play.... 2 bad games.
Are there enough players outside od North america and europe in the NBA on all star level tho? Bcuz most likely europe vs US and Canada would be enough. And euro boys would love to show much the old continent Has improved
@@JaculaDudek Well, technically Embiid was from Cameroun, a few others like Siakam is also from Cameroun. Mostly it will be Europeans, but I guess we can scrap a few others to get the game more ''international''
@@marting7848 aside from embiid (is he even playing) do they Play on all star level? Genuine question, bcuz it would be stupid to drag some african player, some Asian or south american player to that all star game just to fill the certain mold
@@JaculaDudek No, except the 2 I named, I do not see any all stars
People just don’t take pride in their work anymore.
they'd be better off making all the players play eachother in a 2k tournament
If the players don’t give a crap how can you expect the fans to give a crap? These dudes can’t possibly think we would care what they think, wear, drive or sleep with if they didn’t hoop. Do they understand that they make money as entertainers? No one is shelling out a few bills to watch Anthony Davis work in a cubicle and drop instagram posts. As far as above and beyond performance, how about just wanting to dominate your peers for bragging rights? What has happened to the drive to be called the best at your craft?
When the theatre (NBA) presents bad movies (Players), they don’t shut the theatre (NBA) down or change the format. It stays the same till better movies (Players) come around.
Just goes to show, to them they are getting paid minimum wage for this
Bird/Magic then Michael Jordan who opened all revenue and popularity flood gates alongside David Stern left a league with all time highs across the board.. Kobe Duncan Shaq and KG etc weren't up to that level but they atleast held it down basketball and product wise. what does Steph/KD/LBJ and Adam Silver have to show for? they have been the face of the league for the past 15+ years. lets take a look : no defense being played so scoring is inflated and is meaningless, ratings cratering, spoiled stars, no fundamentals, same scheme of play from all teams, boring style of play with tons of three pointers layups and free throws, no rivalries cause everyone is buddy buddy with one another, the super team era, all star game is dead, dunk contest is dead, load management.. the list goes on and on
PATHETIC.
125k for one game? Dang 😮
adam: " i know! lets do a LB4K+ BLK month minorities only wnba/nba cup!! "
funniest conservative
They want to fix everything but the actual issue. The players don’t care about the all star game so why should we?
All of this from the players is not necessarily because of ego. Its because All Star Weekend is closer to the playoffs. Why would someone risk getting injured if playoffs are right around the corner? Its not worth sacrificing for a potential injury just because of their pride or ego.
In my garbage opinion, if they want players to show some legimate effort, they should move All Star Weekend towards the beginning of the season every year. Then there would be something to prove, only problem is what happens with the players who prove themselves during the season? They have to wait for next year... there really isnt any simple solution for this, I can salute a man who tries tho
Horribly wack it’s no wonder the leagues viewership is dying
Kevin just instantly said that hate it. Make think he is just like a teenager that gonna dislike everything.
Literal trash
The fans are the problem - stop voting in players that don’t give a crap
Feels like the only way to save the All Star game at this point is to do white players vs black players. Nothing like a good ol' race war to stir up excitement
Money is the problem, they get their bags and they just dont give a fuck anymore.
NBA needs to suspend the All Star game and take away All Star awards for the Players and limit injured Players to being able to sit only 3 games a year and injured players only receiving 80% of their salary and watch how things change.
Adam silver needs to go. Bro is trash at his job💀
It's the players damn fault. Not an ounce of accountability among them
Idk what the overall fix for the NBA is but I definitely think non guaranteed contracts should be apart of it.
