In the process kf buying one just like yours was 😂😂, getting it for 400$ so in total Im gonna have maybe 500 in the car, I can resurface the head myself, figured it would be a really cheap little daily while I save money to build my race truck 😂😂

Picked up a 2005 ex with an auto for $200 bunch of new parts but broken timing belt and low compression on 1 and 3. Gonna pull the head soon to see what happens next!
I zoomed in right before you slapped the head back on, looks like you only cleaned the outside deck. not the cylinder tops. And you could’ve been a lot more cleaner with the new head, use a table you’ll be happy. I like this video though, I learned from it. Thank you
Hey man I got a d17 that needs a new headgasket. I know the d17 for some reason have common issues with headgasket popping. So i wanted to replace it a good one that will last. I'm keeping it stock but I wanna use arp head studs with cometic head gasket for better longevity. Or you think oem is better route?
Your intake is aluminum. What car is that from? I have to do a d172 headgasket replacement. Never done it before. Can I take the whole thing out with the intake attached like you did?
Bro why does the headgasket sit in there like that like all the things don’t fit in it right or something I put it on my head and it didn’t seam right??
Yes. Forget the exact reason, but on the 7th gens the gasket fails where the exhaust leaks into the coolant passage. Boiling the coolant and making it spit out the overflow. I would definitely try burping the systems, leak down test, and other small things first though.
@@PirateGarage alright, have fun with it! Also, do you think it'll fit an ep1? In belgium it's cheaper that way. Cause i believe the cylinder block of an d14z6 was the same as the d17a2? For insurance.. the d14 block with d17 internals :)

Yes, alot of d16 parts are compatible with d17

You didn't lube it enough with installation of the cam and rocker arms. The rest of that is very good, that's the only thing I had noticed.

Clapped engine has given good service. Adding in 200$ ARP studs on a 300,000 MILE engine seems even less than a waste of $$

Yes removing the egr will effect getting a legal smog

Would it be a horrible idea to put back on a warped head. I mean My car has 250000 miles I really don't care too risk it.
Getting a head resurface is not very expensive
Your replacing a OEM Japan radiator because it's a crappy one. With a cheap Chinese crappy radiator. Lol
