So plenty fast enough for daily use then, perfect as a bike to learn on. Glad I put a deposit down for one now
Fast enough to keep up with traffic just don't use it all the time on the highway/freeway as it lacks power just like every other 4 stroke 125cc bike.
Excited to get mine! Walked in today and the dealer has one due to land first week in August! Yellow ✌️
Thanks, man, I think I will buy this one to start riding and gain experience!
Seems like a badass 125cc bike!
Keep up with the good stuff!
Thanks! Well plenty of 125cc bikes to choose from. With any Yamaha bike you know it is reliable and of great quality.
Nice video 👍 great top speed for a 125cc bike 💪 Probably I will buy one ☝️
Finally, thanks for ride, what’s next ? Maybe a new Msx 😄
Haha yeah finally. I wanted to upload it sooner but had other things to take care of. No Honda's anymore as the importer sort of ghosts me. Honda is not doing so well in my country and getting out of reach is not the smartest thing to do if you ask me. So if I want to ride a Honda I can always try dealerships but not all dealers have all of the bikes in Honda's line-up as a demo.
Wie immer super 👍
Thanks, I was waiting for this video! How much do you weight? (this can have an impact on the top speed)
Also interested in the mileage of this motorcycle
100kg so lets wait for other videos to see if they are faster. I know from other tests that probably weigh less than me that they could not get past 118 km/h. But that was a short test for the press. I was able to take it with me for a week so I had all the time in the world.
I just put a deposit on 1 today and picking it up on Saturday
As an optional extra you can have 3 different wind screens.
The first two are fly screens, one with a racing number on it.
But the third is an actual retro racing bike screen, much more curved, that I'm sure would also improve the aerodynamics of the bike by quite a bit, it would prob hit 120 with it or more.
Sounds good 😊🏍️💨
Thanks for sharing, mate. Is it very new? Do you think that it needs more km to make a better result? I’m thinking of buying it if it can handle at least 110km at highway speed for a medium ride (one-two hour)...
Might be better once it has more miles on it, but that is not always the case. 110km/h for 1 to 2 hours? Not recommendable with a 125cc 4 stroke bike. 100 km/h would be possible yet the best environment is on urban and rural roads.
Get a 250 bro. Something like a KTM Duke 250. Light and nimble for urban/commute, but powerful enough for a bit on the highway.
150 or 155 cc is better if you use it for daily commute on urban and inter urban roads. If you experience traffic jam so much, I recommend you to buy the scooter or A/T version.
Very beautiful motorcycle !!! Can we swap the 125 engine with the 155cc? And where we can find an engine 155cc in Europe?
I think you would be able to swap it, but you can't find the 155cc engine in Europe. You should import it from Asia.
What do You think about the build quality of this bike? I wish they make XSR300 with R3 engine ....
Build quality is fine. It is a Yamaha. Perhaps they will release a XSR300 in the future. Why not? The engine is out there already and they did the same for the MT-125/YZF-R125.
i've done 131 km/h on this bike stock. key is in shifting exactly like half a km/h before the limiter, then lay down all the way, minimum air resistance, and undisturbed highway.
Nice Ride! 👍
That's fantastic 👍
Hi MotoSnax. I am 1,87 cm ¿Do you think it would be OK for me?. I have read that the Fantic Caballero Scrambler has a very similar motor and is bigger. ¿Have you had a chance of testing it?
Congrats for the very first Yamaha XSR125 top speed post. For me it is not really too relevant for I mainly ride my dt 125 x on mountain roads and would do the same with a newer 4 stroke 125.
The xsr is a really underrated bike. Looks good, sounds pretty good stock as is, rides AMAZING, and is comfortable as fuck. If I were to get a brand new bike i’d get an xsr
It's good for long drive ?
That's pretty good. In 1990 my brand new stroker tzr125r could do 90 on the flat and 110 when the power valve was altered and it got to top speed fast. They were fast beasties
I have mine quite new still under 1000km, and i've get to 126km/h at 8000rpm 6st gear ;)
From 0 to 123 km/h, how long do you need ?
I'm not as heavy as you (90KG with gear) and I can't get past 115 km/h. I did not test it on the highway. I will put a PSB 13 on it to see if it help to get faster to the v.max.
Oh it takes some time and you must really lay flat on the tank, wind in the back.
Is it with the wind at your back?
What is the weight of the rider?
Thank you
No wind or wind in the back. Can't remember. At least no wind from the front. weight 100 kg w/o gear.
Which do you think is much better XSR 125 or XSR 155?
They are quite the same except more cc's and a different unit for the key. So I'd go for the XSR155 as it has more power and torque.
How heavy is the driver? That makes a big differenz in top speed
A little over 100 kg without riding gear. Still, Euro5 makes top speeds worse. So yes, weight does matter, but emission laws also do.
@@MotoSnax thats quit fast for 125ccm. Unfortunately the EU doesn't make it easier for motorcycles in the near future.
@@MS-wd7gp Euro3 and Euro4 models were able to do 140 km/h (YZF-R125) on speedo. Manufacturers would increase the cc's, but you can't do that with A1. The limit is 125cc. If you want a really fast A1 bike, you should buy an electric bike. But those are expensive and not to mention the insurance for it.
Good video!
Good quality bike. The Yamaha XSR 125 is economical in use.
very nice ty bro :P
What a cute lil bike. I’m gonna go with the 900 after I get my license in one day on my XR650R. Must really suck to not be American 🇺🇸😂
It depends on your age. You can ride the xsr900 if you are 23 or up. What I do hate is that in Europe they don't sell the XR650R and DR650 anymore. Then again, the tail light on those Americans models of these dual sport bikes are ugly. In Europe these lights were looking better back in the day they still sold them. Probably some US law.
That =76.6 mph on road test after first oil change when thay reved it out thay said it just toped 80 mph im getting yamaha blue one in December 😊
I owm one in the Philippines its almost the same but mine is xsr 155, my top speed is 110 kilometers per hour. And i weigh 95 kilos
You should be able to go faster if the road quality allows it. Over here perfect asphalt.
I reached 149 km/s using 155 im 65 kilos.. Im sure you can do better if the road is clear
I definitely fancy one of these. Just need to convince the Mrs that it’s a good idea 🤔
India me kab launch ho rahi h
Can you tell average mileage of this motorcycle?do a mileage test
When really pushing it to the limits 1 liter per 39.9 km. When riding it quite average (with a lot of 80 kmh roads and some highway in between) I was able to do 1 liter per 41,2 km. I weigh 100 kg so if you weigh less expect even better mileage.
Nice!
I'm 6'4 do you think it's a good bike for me?
It might be a bit small. Most 125cc bikes are quite small. You should really try to see if you can find a dealership with an XSR125 to try and see if it fits.
Will this 125 be good for 5'5''??
I think so. The bike is not that big. If you are able to visit a dealership try it out.
My first bike was a ybr 125cc, got into highway and had trouble reaching higher speeds like above 95 mph so trucks and big vehicles were a danger to me. I’m a new rider just been riding for a few months now. I’m thinking of switching to an xsr , would you say it rides safely in highways ? My weight is 52 kilos. Did you feel it being wobbly in high speeds ? Thank you
I think you mean 95 kmh instead of mph? It does not feel wobly at those speeds but I was expecting the XSR to be faster.
Funny, back in the 80's in the UK we had 12BHP 125s that would do 70MPH - Suzuki GS125 for example. I would have thought it might have been just a little quicker with 15BHP.
That is when they came in with the Euro norms. Euro5 makes 125's slow. This engine was able to do 140 km/h before. Perhaps not as naked bike, but with the MT-125 with same engine in 2015 I was able to do 135 km/h or so.
Same look xsr155 cc xsr125 cc how much this xsr125 compare to xsr155
Prices are different everywhere... over here the 125cc costs 4999 EUR. No 155 is sold over here.
Good.. Ty
Powerful 125cc plus VVA it is so fuel efficiency Wow..
What would you recommend for long distances on a 125cc? I might be using one for use on the continent..
Nice vid.
hey I wouldn't be touring with a 125 cc bike but if you really want i can't see that the yamaha is all that bad considering it carries 11 liters and travels around 50 km per liter so a good 550 km give or take
@@buffpriest3139 Why not touring? I mean just slower surely..
Think I'll probably get the Hoodlum as it stands.
(Well long distances say 200 miles a day? As in car ferry Santander to Barcelona)
@@MauriceTarantulas hoodlum is a Great bike 🏍 the thing is when I imagine touring I’m think of thing like the bmw k1600 but sure the Yamaha and hoodlum are both great bikes and how I see it I would take the Yamaha for cruising and the hoodlum for taking things with you
@@buffpriest3139 But am hearing you might take the A2 first so can use motorways.
I dont need much as only need to stay overnight somewhere then have relatives so just a rucksack.
I mean obviously the next step up bikes are going to be better but was thinking 125cc steady pace and say 6hrs riding. Someone told me the Hondas and Yamahas better as they just run better/more efficient.
P.s Perhaps touring is the wrong word just need a 125cc that can do the odd long journey but guess thats all.
Getting stuck somewhere in the Basque country could be interesting.
@@MauriceTarantulas I think both should work for what you are asking for both great and wonderfull bikes so now it just comes down to what you like the only thing with an Yamaha bike is that if a part would break it’s very easy to find now parts but with the hoodlum it might be a bit harder had to learn the bad way with my old fantic cabbalero flatrack 125cc
With my Mt 2019.
138 (130 gps)
Only Akrapovic.
A very good vidéo.

Thanks you
Thanks! Well, good top speed! I was able to do 135 on the speedo on the old model.

adjusting the valves at 1000 and 6000 km with the Akrapovic, frankly i have powerful motorcycles and the mt is a pleasure.
but Yamaha dealers never do. look, sir, your notebook and the revision obligations.
Thanks you very much.

@@weko6273, No shit sherlock! Scheelt maar 3 pk met een A1 fiets. Waar-de-loos. smh.

Good for you en een fijne avond!
I have the 700, the 125 is cool looking, like a cross between the 700 and the 900. Enjoy!
It is a good start if you like the XSR series. :) I don't own it though. Just had it for a review.
Not bad for 125 cc 👍
I really like the looks of this bike. If only it was 250 or 300...

Hi bro..what is the price in your country bro ??
@@MotoSnax 😳😳 bro xsr 155 is 2999 EUR one UA-camr bought ...but 125 4999 eru 🙄 it's funny 😂 😂 😂
I always thought my ybr was a bit optimistic when it said 80mph on the clock going downhill.
In reality it was probably just nudging 70 on the flat roads.
The fastest I got on the YBR was like 67 MPH or so. But that was on a flat road. Can't remember the wind direction.
how much in US $? thanks!
That depends per country... if converted to USD it is more expensive in The Netherlands than Belgium for example.
Is this available in the u.s.?
Not that I know. But the USA has got the VMAX. I'm sure a lot of Europeans are jealous now. :) Or at least.. you got it up to 2021.
I really like the look of this bike, but sadly they will never sell it where I live (North America) Unfortunately the attitude of most motorcycle riders here is that anything less than a 650 is a "girlie bike"...
Same over here. Only 600cc+ is considered a real bike. Then again.. .125cc is fine for in the city but outside the city in most cases too slow.
After 12,000 km I can say that this is very unrealistic.
I'm 188 tall and weigh 88 kg. Real speed without gradient and slipstream is about 100 km/h. That in 5th gear and 10,000 revolutions. Not pleasant. Realistic speed on the highway 90km/h maybe 85km/h.
But I've already managed 138 with slopes and slipstreams. I was in the limiter then.
You have to say that it pulls extremely well, acceleration for 15ps is extremely good.
The 6th gear is a bit unnecessary, you only need it to drive quietly in the village..
It would be a good idea to put a smaller sprocket in the front. That would give the bike even more power when accelerating and also a higher top speed. Because on a straight stretch you are faster in 5th than in 6th gear
Well this is what I was able to do on a straight road with wind in the back. I must say on the highway most seen speeds are between 105-110 km/h. Due to Euro5 the engine got weaker.
Iridium plug,K&N filter, free flowing exhaust should release a couple more horses
Not sure if it will be a 'couple' of extra horses. It is a 4 stroke engine..
Why not available in india
Bhai India me ye model kyo lonch nhi karte India me to Yamaha gatiya model hi lonch karta hai
Great.Over120km/h!!.
For most young riders, i.e. those who will be paying for their bike with money they earn themselves through work I just don't see the point of spending 4500GBP on a 125 or having one on any sort of PCP deal, surely they're not going to shift many of these...
How much money This bike
I answered you on Instagram, right? Differs per country. Check the local Yamaha website.
My old 1986 Suzuki RG125 Gamma would of left it for dead, time to bring back 125cc road bike’s as 2 strokes with today technology rather than these tuned hair dryers

Top!!🙏👍😉😍🤟
I have this bike In black from the UK and it does not come near 75mph 66 67 downhill
Only under ideal circumstances. Like wind in the back. The road is straight though. But to be fair, the XSR has kind of a weak engine compared to the older MT-125 while it is the same but now modified for Euro5.
Mine only does 105 kmh on Bike Speedometer. Just tried it after I got it back from the first service (1070km). I'm a bit disappointed since its written 116kmh in the papers. Thougt it goes at least 116 on speedometer which ist 105 kmh in real life. I hope it gets faster after e few top speed rides. If it doesn't, don't know what to do. Need at least real 105kmh to ride normal roads here in Germany without being to slow for other Cars.
Hope it gets faster. Then again, you will need good conditions to get past 105-110 km/h. Weather, road, wind etc. but for a liquid cooled 125cc, the XSR is slow. That is due to Euro5. The same engine but Euro3 was way faster. It is the same for bigger bikes but because they are more powerful you'll notice it less (or they compensate by adding extra cc's which you can't with 125cc bikes due to the A1 license requirements).
@@awdadwadwad1723 No. Not realy. Still around real 100 mph in perfekt conditions.
