    Loved how easy this was to follow! I'll definitely be making these to hang in my room to add a more wintery feel :)

    There's a similar craft for Halloween, if you make them bigger and add fake spiders to it, looks like a spider web ball. In that videos they used white school glue and soaked Wool yarn in it first, then wrapped it around the balloon.

    its easier to do if you let the string sit in the glue/water mix and pull it onto the balloon that way. It gets evenly coated and will stick better. Glue mix should be equal parts :)

    For those asking, you could use Elmer's glue, mixed 50/50 with water.
    Also, to keep the glitter mess to a minimum, use glitter glue or mix the glitter into your glue/water solution. You could also use a three part mix of pearlescent acrylic medium or paint, Elmer's glue and water if, like me, you feel that glitter is the evil herpes of craft supplies.

    Hm...it might vary depending on the size, what type of string and maybe even how much you used. Some of mine dried overnight, others took a little longer. But I say the best bet is to just leave them alone to dry for at least 24 hours :) Good luck!

  • @mrdreaminofu1

    I did this and my yarn collapsed with the balloon and the glitter got everywhere. Should I use more glue in the water? Or should I have soaked it longer? Idk I made several and they all ended up the same way. :(

      I had that problem and my daughter suggested blowing up water balloons. It worked, they're round but stretch the balloon a little, it makes blowing it up a little easier.

    Can you use regular elmars school glue for this?

    • @jessinwanderland
      @jessinwanderland  10 років тому

      I've never tried it with elmer's glue... all I can really say is that the drying time might be a little longer. As for holding the shape I'm not too sure because I don't really know if tacky is much stronger than elmer's glue You can always do a quick test run and maybe not make the glue-water mixture too watery. Hope this helps a little.
