Hello! I need to ask, is it possible to play with multiple sounds at once from the Synth section? And how many sounds can I combine together?

Hey @hans4743 you can only play one sound from each module on the Electro 6, so you can only play with one sample synth sound at a time. Some of the newer models of keyboards Nord has released will let you play with two sounds from one module, but not the Electro 6. Hope that helps!

Is it possible to layer the sounds, strings and pad in the sample synth section ?

Unfortunately you can only play one sound from the sample synth section at a time. You can layer the piano and organ on top of it, but cannot layer a different sound from the sample synth section on top of the sample synth sound that is already sounding.

    Hi
Thanks for the video I received my Nord 6 today do you know if I can use 2 midi channels in my Daw?
For example organ on midi channel 1 and for example strings or another sinstrument on channel 2 if you know what I mean.
    Thanks Gr.Ness

Hey @thecoastcoverbandnoordwijk, you can separate the triggering of organ notes, and piano/sample synth notes in midi by utilizing the "External KBD to Lo" function that the Organ module offers. This allows you to trigger the organ sounds, or the piano/sample synth sounds from independent keyboards. To activate the "External KBD to Lo" function, hold the shift button and press keyboard split. By default global channel is set to 1, and the "External Keyboard to Lo" function is set to channel 16. You can adjust this within the menu titled "Channel". Page 13, 23, and 27 speak to the "External Keyboard to Lo" function in the user manual. You may find it helpful to hear how Nord phrases things. Here is the link to the pdf manual, www.nordkeyboards.com/sites/default/files/files/downloads/manuals/nord-electro-6/Nord%20Electro%206%20English%20User%20Manual%20v1.1x%20Edition%20C.pdf

can I have an infinite sustain on the synth section meanwhile I play the piano in lower octaves of the keyboard?

    • @awakeningworshipandproduct689

I could see you doing this in two different ways.
One: You can do the keyboard split as you suggested and turn the release all the way up on the synth patch. Ultimately the sustain would die out but from my experience it will go on for quite a while.
Two: You can use a sustain pedal and flip the switch on the bottom so when you’re not pressing it the sound is sustained. (That’s easier than holding down the pedal in my opinion). Then you just assign the “sustped” function to the sample synth module and NOT the piano module. That way whatever synth sound you play will be sustained until you press your sustain pedal to cut it off. This second method would still require you to do the keyboard split, otherwise the synth patch would become triggered with every key pressed leading to an overwhelming sound very quickly, hahah.
      Hope that helps!
