It's neither the same weight ( although close) and not the same size (it is thinner with a larger display). Close, perhaps, but pretending they're the same is incorrect.
It does seem like choosing between this and the Surface Pro 7 could be a little difficult... I think this thing looks great, but I really think that you're going to get more bang for your buck with the Surface Pro 7.... My wife and I have a Surface Pro and a Surface Go and we LOVE them.... having a full Windows 10 computer everywhere we go is great... We always check the Microsoft Store for any software first, and even strongly consider if we can get by without whatever isn't in the store... we have installed a couple non-store things, but avoiding non-store stuff is going a looooong way in preserving the performance of our devices ;)
But Microsoft Office can be used on any windows 10 PC... so how is it a deal breaker? And while there are a few advantages, Surface Pro 7 is actually the better product.
Surface pro 7 in the body of surface pro x(i’m fine with the thickness of the 7), a thunderbolt 3 port is all i could ever ask for on a surface, This isn’t the one.

Hey Michael, try primarily using Microsoft's Edge Chromium Canary build, which has 64 bit ARM support (and is due out for regular release next month I believe) or Firefox, which also has 64 bit ARM support, and let us know how your battery life has been affected. Many Surface Pro X users have noticeable gains in battery life when using only a 64 bit ARM supported browser (since it does not need to do 32 bit emulation). You may then get closer to 8 hours of battery life, possibly even more.
For consumers buy a Chromebook and a 7th generation laptop for the same cost as a Pro X and have a far superior user experience. The question is why pay more for the compromise of less? If you have disposable income as a second device then maybe, but again if you need a tablet the iPad Pro is far superior. Of course, if you are buying as it is the latest shiny new thing then it is your money, but that does not make it a sensible buy.
I think this is in itself a confused segment of products, a last generation ultrabook will have better performance, app support and similar battery life with comparable price tag. This makes sense if cellular support is must for you.
Every place I've worked for has blocked the Microsoft Store and apps from day one, so I have no idea what the hell this is going to run in an enterprise environment.
Another user category: as a student, I find Surface Pro X is god sent due to it weight, kickstand and innovative slim pen storage. Can ipad pro say that?
The processor in the Surface Pro X is more comparable to the A12X inside the iPad Pro than any smartphone SoC... except that it is much slower. Remember, folks: iPad also has a cellular option. That’s what Mr. Mobile carries.
What about using it for making and receiving calls? Can you video chat or have a video conference call without having to use Skype? Does it have a stylist pen?
I want a pro x really bad, I was very bummed to see the SQ2 update was basically just a crappy overclock. Spending 1600 bucks on something that isn’t really all that powerful is kind of a turn off. Hoping they’ll do better with the SQ3, I guess. At this point I’m either waiting for the ipad to get better software, or the surfaces to get better internals. Not sure which will happen first tbh.
I'm curious to where this might be in the next 2 years. Right now its Achilles heel is poor app support and performance with many x86 programs. This of course might change in the future.

Hardly any windows pc runs on arm64, which makes app developers not even want to waste time making an app that hardly anyone will use. Whereas you take the M1 (Which is arm64), app developers want to create apps for it because they know there's a huge market with that processor and operating system.
Dafuq is wrong with mike's profil picture?
Im not the only one that has noticed that?
a lot of UA-camrs pfps are messed up, just look at for example mumbo jumbo's profile picture, he has the default one now for no reason
Imagine being PC and not being able to run PC apps
Imagine getting an iPad instead of this will save you a lot of headache.
@@MasterHandFinalDestination I rather have a fully fledged desktop os
@@sathya5057 but it's not one.
@@MasterHandFinalDestination remember windows rt for the first surface pro? this is one of those experiments that ms is doing. they probably won't sell many of them but they are experimenting with things.
What's worse, Windows 10 sucks. It has tremendous overhead and poor app support. So this device is not only limited, but kneecapped by its OS.
If Microsoft just... invested in improving Windows 10, it'd be great.
But they don't care.
*edit* To be clear, I want Microsoft to be a successful competitor to Google and other tech companies in this space.
But I feel like people don't acknowledge just how rough Windows 10 is on overhead.
Please test again with Edgium (Chormium-based Edge) compiled for ARM in the future, if possible and see the battery life impact!
And... Keep the great work!
What happened to your profile picture?
I thought it's only me who noticed that. Hehe
Exactly?
Mumbo jumbo a minecraft youtuber also had something similar happen lately
Looks like it got disabled or something? With the line against the man and all?
Same here
Michael, you forgot to mention the pen slot 😅. You can put the slim pen in the keyboard (slot accessed by pulling the keyboard forward) which also charges it via wireless charging.
Only available on one of the available keyboards.
Thanks for validating my decision not to purchase. Lol
Rounded corners ? No thank you!!!
