Personally I tried and returned the ghd duet- it made my wavy, frizzy, color treated hair look fried and frizzier! So far the aie strait leaves it nice, especially the ends. Best one i’ve tried. Even the fhi heat polisher, and drybar straightshot I like better than duet. The amika two in one was nice except pulling hair out.
I really wanna try it for this reason! Atm I’m using the airwrap to rough dry and then the smoothing attachment, then going over my whole hair again with a straightener
Hey! Would like to ask you , how’s the hair behaves when you go out (especially in summer humidity) or when it’s raining outside?! Got frizzy wavy hair as well 😢
Here’s a dumb question. But I’m just learning how to do my hair myself (embarrassing I know..) but how do I know what setting and what temperature to set it at?
Yassss dont know how to style my hair so i've always air dryed it and i have pretty straigh hair already. Between the Airwrap w the brush attachment and the Airstrait, i think this tackles everything I need in 1 in an easy way.
My hair is similar to yours. I also air dry and then either straighten or curl but before curling, you gotta go in to straighten a little first. I wonder if this would solve that issue and you can use it to dry and take out the curls before going in the curling iron. That would be the tool of my dreams for sure
Great review! But you’re right (and probably 99% of us) thinking $500 is crazy..good news is other hair companies will follow suit and probably develop cheaper alternatives (aka Shark!) 💜
I have curly hair too and it worked perfectly fine for me without using any other tools. This really depends on the porosity of your hair so consider that and watch videos of people who have similar hair texture to yours to really get a better idea.
When people with this type of hair say they have frizzy hair it baffles me 😅 Your natural hair is gorgeous and so smooth!!!! ❤ On the other hand, I’m convinced that my hair is the frizziest mess in existence, so I’m going to really put the Dyson airstrait to the test and record a video trying it on my frizzy pooooofy hair soon. (If anyone is interested in seeing it, head over to my page) 😊
IF u are convinced that your hair is the frizziest in exsistance, maybe I might say I'm baffled you didn't try this expensive hair machine yet while you said you were gonna try it soooon. But don't speak for other people's feelings towards their own hair. If she feels her hair is frizzy then let her be. Atleast she did really test this on her hair.
i filmed it months ago, just havent had the time to edit it yet D: also really didnt think anyone would still be interested in seeing it anymore as this hair tool has been out for a while now and people arent searching for reviews much anymore, but mayyybe i'll still post it. @@SwampGem
I have curly hair (probably one of the types you were referring to) and it worked perfectly fine on me without having to use any other tools. So be cautious with your recommendations for other hair types if your hair type isn’t those other types.
thanks for your input!! i just want to warn users with other hair types that it would obviously not work the same as it did for me, not that it wouldnt work at all ᵕ̈
Thanks so much for this detailed review . I usually dry my hair with supersonic and use corrale to straighten it. I def need this . Basically just 1 step less and less damage. Corrale is also good cuz voltage is universal and can do curls.. this i need asap , after watching your video i ordered it ❤
I heard a hair stylist professional say that the most vulnerable time your hair is - is when its wet so never tools on wet hair. The hair is in a vulnerable state where the follicle is open.
that is very true honestly! however, people will still choose to do blowouts on wet hair which is really the same thing as this except less damaging, so it's really just an alternative!
can you use it on dry hair, so lets say your hair started to get a bit curly because of humidity or lets say you had a curled hair style from the day before but you want to straighten it, could you use it?
yes! use the dry mode the next day for a touch up, however, that's when the tool tends to get hotter and you're now running risk of more heat damage. I'm still wearing my hair the same way from when i made this video (day 4 now haha) and it honestly still looks good which is rare because my hair usually starts to get frizzy again!
@@jasanahis I am defiantly thinking of buying it, I already have the airwrap but I get a lot of flyaways when i use the straight brush. But okay good, I rarely have to touch up my hair but sometimes if you had it in a ponytail i can get kinks in it so then its good to know that there is an option to use this tool for that!
I have curly hair too and it worked perfect for me. So this is perfectly fine for curly girls. Please consider watching videos of people who have the same hair texture to get a better idea.
@@lf9341 not a fan, I returned it. To be honest I was disappointed because I justified the money on the fact that it was suppose to be amazing/state of the art, but it fell short for me. There’s no way I’d be able to just walk out the door after using it without another form of hair styling tool. My hair looked like I blowdried it and not straightened it, AT ALL! Even the lady returning it at Dyson was shocked but now I’m convinced it’s all marketing.
Your hair looks great. The term is ‘coily’ hair by the way not ‘frizzy’. I’ve watched another video of a lady with type 4 hair and this gives really disappointing results. I think it’s only suitable for wavy hair or at the most 3A or 3B hair who want to achieve a straight look.
i meant frizzy too! i have very frizzy hair! but yeah i can imagine that for other hair types like you listed it would be more difficult unfortunately!
DO NOT order this from Dyson. It has been a shipping nightmare. They had the wrong address on my shipping, when I called 3 minutes after I placed the order they said they fixed it- they did not. They missed the delivery date and cannot tell me where it will ship to, just a “UPS location” that I have to pick it up at. They refuse to cancel the order and refund my money even though it is just sitting in their warehouse as UPS never picked it up to ship it to said unknown location. Their customer service is terrible. I just want my $550 back but they won’t until it is returned via UPS, but it’s in their warehouse RIGHT now.
500 dollars ??? DAMN !!!!!!!!! even though it may be a bit better than real heat, come on now.... and indeed only being able to straighten your hait with it... why does this even exist ???
Just bought this and trying it out this weekend. If this can save me money from frequent salons it’s worth the price tag!
it looks so much more convenient than blowdrying & then flat ironing. i'm so curious about how this compares to the ghd one..

Great review. But I have 1 question…does it stay straight all day? Coz my wavy hair sometimes messes up after certain hours. Thanks in advance.

You are so lucky that you’ve dupes for dyson in your country!

What was the name of the Redken hair product you used? Enjoyed the video ! Thanks

I purchased it and ended up returning it. It is wide and didn’t catch my roots and even with product, it left my hair limp.
I get blow outs every week. I can’t do my hair. At all. It’s thick and I just can’t do it. Wonder if this would work.
Thank you for your review 🩷

The term is frizzy. You can have frizzy hair without being Coily. I don’t have coily hair and it gets frizzy.
I have straight hair that can get veryyy frizzy. So relax girl…
Frizzy and coily are two different things

It’s just hard to tell because your hair is so thin…any hot tool would work quickly for you.
You could actually curl with this tool by using it with a round brush. 😃

Please go out on a hot and humid day and tell us if your straight hair lasts.

How in the world can it take HALF AN HOUR to blow dry hair? 😀 do you blow with your mouth?
blow drying your hair properly for a blowout takes a while, especially if your hair soaked....
Dude it takes people 40-45 minutes to blow dry hair... What are you even talking about😂
I take 1 hour 20 min to blow out my hair properly. It’s called blessed with good genetics and have thick voluminous hair.
