Why do we think all the temporary work permit holders will leave Canada when they are supposed to. They will likely to go underground and wait it out hoping for an amnesty. Many of these permit holders pay for their job offers to come into the country because of the prospect of becoming PR. The job offer is a fraudulent and provides a way for them to get in and eventually becoming PR. Where do we get the manpower to enforce the departure of the expired work permit holders. We do not keep track of anyone leaving the country as we do not have to go thru Border control when we leave (like what many other countries around the world will do , i.e. exit control). This is something the Liberal government and their immigration ministers never bother to think about. They are totally incompetent.
I disagree with the idea that this is due to incompetence, but respect your reasoning regarding the current situation and some of why it is a bad thing. I think that the long term is being sacrificed for the short term benefit of a very, very small number of people.
@@handymanreality Without literal years of proactive and internally motivated research and personal philosophical journeying, larger scale truths and mechanics that do not conform to the mass-programmed narrative are simply to difficult to explain to someone who doesn't actually want to learn and understand. 395k for 2025 and 380k for 2026 permanent residents is still way too high. And what we need is to attract permanent immigrants of value, meaning people who are professionals in a profession that can help improve things like healthcare, such as doctors and nurses, we have a dire need for those. We must reduce the amount of red tape around these professionals being able to exercise their professions here in Canada so that they are not discouraged when they get here and not be able to practice. We shouldn't be forcing nurses and doctors to practically start over their education to be able to practice here. There has to be a better system put in place where they can quickly be brought "up to speed" so to speak on how we do things here without preventing them from getting to work for years and years. Those are smart immigration practices.

As others have pointed out, there needs to be much more cuts. And in addition to that there ABSOLUTELY needs to be safeguards put into place not just saying an oath. With specifics about how they will not try in any way to petition and lobby for their religious laws to be allowed in Canada (such as sharia law) and everything related to it in a way that will have an impact on the existing culture (I'm talking about you Islam) and religion of the land, Christianity, which this country and the whole of western civilization was founded on, our moral laws. There must be laws and safeguards in place to protect and guarantee the integrity and long term stability of our nation and it's national culture (which is not multiculturalism, that is BS), such laws would allow the authorities to remove citizenship and expatriate back to the country of origin any immigrant and the second generation of those immigrants meaning their children if they get caught comitting crimes or if they get caught trying to IMPOSE their religion (such as the practice of jihad, sharia law) on anyone including their own spouses. The same would apply to any imam spreading any kind of hate such has antisemitism in mosques and also any support for terrorist groups of any kind such as hamas. We have all seen what happens on college campuses when such things are tolerated and not shut down immediately. It is out of control now. Other examples are: if a muslim man tells you that you have to leave a public pool (A PUBLIC POOL) because he wants his wife to be able to swim there, that should be a felony. This has happened in Canada. There needs to be very little tolerance for that sort of behavior in Canada. Why do we tolerate this. These people leave their country only to come here and bring their hatred and their barbaric religion here. We have to protect the future of our society for our children and their children etc. You come to Canada then you have to become a CANADIAN.
How about limiting immigration to prospects that more closely match canadian lifestyle and values. We let in way too many people from muslim countries while decent hard working chistians were denied visas.
