This weeks Fly Fishing Premier Show has Don and Dale Freschi fly fishing the shallow water weeds on a beautiful lake located in the Cariboo region of BC. The main body of the lake is very windy, so the guys move into the shallow water weeds and find big fish feeding heavily. I have hooked some big fish the past couple days in my float tube anchored in 8 ft of water. I fish 5wts and I lost a couple when they get in those tall weeds. I had a fish pull drag ,even when I had it cinched down tighter than I like. I had to pull hard with both hands to keep that fish out of the weeds. Some really hot fish over 20" . I have caught over 60 rainbows already the past 2 weeks thanks to watching your content and tying your flys. Im hitting a high mountain lake tomorrow and leeches and chronies should be the menu as water temp will be around 54 deg. My lakes nearby are at 63 F now and damsels are hatching and still lots of chronies on the water. Been lucky with lots of cloudy weather and the Fresci Ripple . Eating a sandwhich always preludes a big fish grabbing your fly, be ready 😆. Great show as always. Whats the table for in the boat tying flys LOL

What leader length do you prefer on intermediate and type 3? Thank you for the great instruction.

My ideal length for both lines is 6ft but will shorten up to 4ft when using heavier flies.
