    When I was in Afghanistan I was attached to the Australian army and a couple of their guys brought their ball gloves and would play catch with us sometimes. Really solid ball players. They said they played since little league. I was surprised to hear baseball is at all popular in Australia with cricket being so big.

    I think CPBL is a little bit better than ABL. Some CPBL players go to ABL when they are too old to play in CPBL. So I think CPBL->9 ABL->10 will be better.

    Great article and great documentation on the number comparison. The only thing that I would change is the #3 and #2 Rankings. Even tho LMP have done Great in recent Caribbean series (solely because MLB Teams DO NOT allow DR prospects players to participate past the LIDOM National title, where in LMP they from a selection of said tournament best players) you have to Factor in the avg Speed of the pitchers in both the LMP and LIDOM. In LMP they are more offspeed type pitchers and rarely break 94-95 mph, contrary to LIDOM where is very common to have 95+ MPH pitchers and occasionally triple digits throwers. Other than that, GREAT VIDEO.

LVBP should be ranked higher now.

    Further to the comment re the Australian League being only ten years old...Yes, true for the current League BUT there was an earlier version that operated 1989-1998. Many players from the earlier League also played in the MLB and number of coaching staff came here with afffiliations with MLB Clubs also set up. Numerous Aussies have played in NCAA, Minor Leagues, in Asia, Germany and Frramce.

    Some incorrect information here, "the minor leaguers that play in the CPBL are usually not ex-major leaguers, but guys who never made it to the MLB." I don't think that's the case, if you have time, you can Google the list of 2019 and 2018 CPBL foreign players. You will find a lot of them are actually former MLB players.
    A lot of them do play winter balls in the Latin America region during the CPBL off-season, so you can even get a direct comparison with their performance in the CPBL.
    As for why not that many CPBL export to MLB? It is more of a policy thing, unlike Japan and Korea, Taiwan have no system in place to prevent amateurs from signing with overseas organisation. But that's another story for another time.
    A few examples of CPBL direct export to MLB are Ni Fu-Te and Tsao Chin-Hui. Both of them jumped from CPBL to Triple-A then to MLB.

    • @baseballinternational174

      My source is a year old so it may have changed since then but according to this, less than half of foreign players in CPBL previously played in MLB. So yes some of them are former MLB players but most are not. www.google.co.jp/amp/cpblstats.com/2019-cpbl-foreign-players-tracker/%3famp

      I don't want to put words in your mouth, maybe you didn't mean that, but that just the impression I get from it.
      Taking out the Dragons (they are for winter league) the MLB-MiLB number is pretty much half and half.
      Also, Ryan Bollinger is an interesting case to think about too, called up to MLB but never pitched an inning.

      Even after a CPBL's native player is qualify to sign with a NPB team, they did not last long in NPB. Since 2000 - 2018, there were 5 CPBL's native players went to NPB, none of them lasted for more then 3 years. The only rare exception is Hsu Ming-Chieh, but he came from the now defunct TML. Hopefully Wang Bo- Rong will be the first CPBL's native player to make an impact in NPB.

    You ranked Mexican Winter League better than Dominican Winter League, no way friend. Dominican Winter League is way better, I mean the quality of the players you can see in Domimican Winter League you wont see it in Mexico. In DR last year for example Fernando Tatis Jr, this year Eloy JimeneZ, dind't play this year but plays with some regularity Nelson Cruz, Hanley Ramirez is actually playing, Wellington Castillo, Aristides Aquino and I can mention many others and believe me you wont see this type of players in Mexico, Im not saying the are the biggest stars but those type of names are not easy to find in Mexico and the better proof that mexican winter league is not at same level than Dominican winter league is the caribbean series, wich is play by teams represeanting their leagues, Dom.Rep. has 19 titles and Mexico has 6, and DR starts playing around 21 years later than Mexico the caribbean series. So no way is not a league that should be better ranked than LIDOM.

      @c200065524 4 роки тому +6

      Yankarlos Zapata In my opinion the LMP is slightly better than LIDOM. I mean look at the recent Caribbean Series’s. Mexico is almost always top there. The DR team usually is made up of fringe MLB players where they become stars in LIDOM. I mean, do you seriously think players like Abraham Almonte, Guillermo Heredia, and Ronny Rodriguez are actual MLB talent these days? They can barely make a roster here now! While the LMP has players such as Efren Navarro and Daniel Nava, who both aren’t good enough to make it into the MLB either, they have players like Esteban Quiroz, Joey Meneses, and Luis Urias, who can definitely be good players in the MLB. Still I am a fan of both leagues, both have great hitting, great fans, and they are both very interesting.

      @@c200065524 Papi, Numbers are there, 20 titles now vs 6. Mexico stars playing 21 years before. Fernando Tatis JR, Nelson Cruz, Eloy Jimenez, Fernando Rodney. There is a big big diffrence nunbers are there, but if you feel good thinking is a better league. Okay I respect that, but like a just said. Numbers are there. History is there.

    • @c200065524
      @c200065524 4 роки тому +3

      Yankarlos Zapata notice how you say the 21 titles to 6. You sound like Yankee fans who like to only go to “we have 27 titles” when they are criticized. I like the LIDOM, the fans are great and the competition is fierce, but that’s only at a local level. The LMP and LMB are way ahead on the playing field. They are the richest league, with the best coverage, and are miles ahead of the competition. I mean the MLB, if they are to expand internationally, they are to go to Mexico first before any other country, excluding Canada. That proves that Mexico as a whole is more advanced than the DR. You don’t see teams dying to go the the DR for a few games. The stadiums just aren’t ready for anything big like that

    • @913KCED
      @913KCED 4 роки тому +2

      As far as talent on the field goes, ever since MLB stopped allowing its players and most prospects to play in the Latin winter leagues, the leagues have pretty much become even. The fact that Panama wasn't added to the 2019 Caribbean Series until less than a week before it began and still won the title (even though they hadn't sent a team to the CS since 1960) seems to bear this out.
      For what it's worth, the LMP outdraws every league outside MLB in the Americas for average attendance. In terms of overall fan support, there's no argument.
