I love that the story goes "Elder Robinson your mission has cost us more than 20 missions combined" - in my head it turns into a Captain yelling at the Rookie Cop "Damn it! You're a renegade! You're a loose cannon! I got the major on the phone chewing my ass! Give me your gun and your badge! You're on desk duty for 2 months!"
Honestly tho, the issue surrounding missions in the LDS community seriously revolves around shaming those who don't go on them. Never would've thought Sark was LDS at one point. But I'm happy he's happy now.
@@freedomfred Yeah, my sister had a harder time when she didn't go one one. I think specifically in Utah the members there are much harder on those who don't go. The church has some really amazing programs and outreach groups but the mistreatment of members for not going on missions needs to change.

Yeah, shaming in general isn't how it's supposed to be, but people have the tendency to do that sometimes.
