To me this song has more than one meaning to me. I'm a combat vet that has PTSD and has lost my marriage of 12 years over it as well as suffering from multiple mental disorders like depression and anxiety. A lot of run ins with the law and failed relationships. My life has been torn apart. Bridges have been burned and that's ok. To me this reflexes on all that but it also tells me you need to pick up life where you can, and start a new. There are struggles in life that no matter how hard you try it might not work so just let it go. You can only be you and others are going to be others. So just let it go!

this song rips out my heart. I used to date a girl that had social enxiety and she told me once that I was everything she feared because of how out going I am. she was always scared I'd leave her for someone else and I remember telling her just be you and I'll be me and we will be perfectly fine. but she just couldn't. it's such a hard thing to hear someone you care about tell you you're everything they fear and know from then on that you'll never make it.
