This happened to me, but the touch screen wasnt working untill i taped the home button flex, i was doing a battery replacement on a 7plus without the screw driver. successful other than the home button

I have exactly same problem, i did buy flex cable but i can't remove the button because all the little screw drivers i have, they can't remove the screws. Could you tell me which screw drivers did you use?
You can get those screw driver set easily anywhere internet. Look at ifixit website to know those screw driver name.
