Ur dad is by far a standout favorite of mine the whole way thru n now my 7yr old boy too. I'm lucky to sk8 with all 3 of my kids (daughters 13,11) our last name is Baker n as u would imagine is what we ride. But my next board will b from ur company 👍
Emily, grateful for this video. I'm late to the party unfortunately. Just learning about Streetplanr! I've been a super bug fan of your pops since I was about 13bor 14 and I'm 47 now. Much love to the Vallely family!!!! If you see this, any chance y'all could re-release the Garcia decks at some point? I'm kicking myself for not knowing they even existed until today and want em bad.
When I was 12 or 13 I saw Mike at a demo in fort Collins CO on a big wooden ramp. I asked if I could ride his board and he said I could have it! I was blown away. It was my first encounter with a pro and he was such a class act! Stand strong
This happened at a demo I was at also! He saw a little kid with a trashed board and shoes that were really worn out. Mike gave him new shoes and a new deck. Even set the new deck up for him. That has always stuck with me...he was a good guy not just this tough guy skater.
Just stumbled across your channel and I am so glad i did. I was lucky enough to see Mike V at a demo back in 2005 at Ollie's Skate park in Florence Kentucky. He was such an intimidating guy in the park, but made sure every kid got their autograph and chance to meet him afterwards. it is so awesome to see he still has a kind heart, amazing personality and family values.
Emily, you and your dad are amazing people! My wife and I had a very bad house fire in September of 2018 and Mike found out about it from a message I sent him on Instagram. He did something I will never ever forget.....he picked up the phone and called me! I will always be grateful for that 34 minute call and hope to get to talk again and even hang out. Skateboarding has always been such an important aspect in my life and it continues to be a good friend. Skateboarding is 100% freedom! Mike if you are reading this, I thank you a million!
On a small island military base named the Kwajalein atoll (island is literally 3.5 miles long by 1/2 miles wide). I fell in love with skateboarding. I was 15 then. We watched your dad on public domain hundreds of times. That elephant board was my first real board and I tore every corner of that small island up with it. Over the years, occasionally reading and watching interviews I've always took note that he tended put a lot of heart into whatever he does. His skateboarding, his small business, and more than anything ... his family. It's really great to see. I love the family I made with my wife more than anything. I'd like to think that it's with that same heart that I try to put into all of the stuff I do. Street plant seems like a company worth supporting. That being said, a small request. Make some of these awesome boards size 7.75 for some of us smaller dudes. (I've tried to love size 8.0 but just can't do it.) I'll be getting a board or two for my wall, but I'd like to be able to get boards from you that I can skate for my size. This video was inspiring. And your small, humble, family run business out of the garage seems pretty damn cool. The skating may have not been passed to the daughter, but it seems the heart certainly was.
Hello Jonas, Thank You! We have gotten plenty of requests for a smaller Board and we will eventually release one, it's just difficult to cover all bases, or stock a full range when being a small company like we are. Much Love!
@@mikevallely hey Mike. Yep I get it. Looking forward to it whenever you guys do. In the meantime, looking forward to my personal notes from street plant when I get some your other stuff. Keep Chuggin!

This is so awesome, to see how passionate you guys are about both family and all the products you create is so inspiring. Being able to see stuff like this brings out such an interest in what you are doing because of how devoted you are to giving people the best products you possibly can, products that you're proud of and that you pour your heart in to - and your appreciation for being able to do that is amazing. Keep it up!!
I just received my second board from Streetplant. It was a ten year anniversary gift from my wife. What you folks are doing truly represents everything positive in skateboarding and everything it’s taught me. Thank you and all the best to you and your family.

I talked smack at a demo in 91 the summer I graduated high school. It was in New Berlin, WI. Years later I was somehow able to contact Mike and apologize. He apologized back for his reaction back. What a great human being this dude is. Humble and rips and huge on family. Mike Vallely will always be in my top all time of both skaters and people.
This might be of interest to you if you didn't hear it already...Mike has an interview on the bruce lee podcast from back in 12/18. I just found it myself, so...gonna have to listen to it.
Got to skate with your dad twice in the late 80's early 90's. So happy to be still buying his boards. My green Deck is arriving Monday! Thanks for all you guys do!
I have not bought a board yet, it will happen. I don't even know what I ride. I hadn''t skated in 10 years starting on a off in the 80s (I'm 44) , someone threw a deck in the trash and I grabbed it and bought the rest of the set up and started skating again about a month ago. But, what I am getting to is I love the videos, I love all the positive vibes in every one of your videos. The skating is pure, and I can't get enough. Thank you Mike from the 80s to now still inspiring me as a skater and the kind of dad I want to be to my son.
Man, this is so dope. i remember back in the 90's thinking mike was the toughest dude. It's sweet to see how age softens people, how he speaks of good energy and love. I know skateboarding got me into a lot of shit, but it got me out of a lot more, and a lot of it is thanks to dudes like Mike. You're so fortunate to have the job you do. Your answer was right on!
Good to know you guys put legitimate love and energy into this company and even going as far as to write hand written notes. Makes this company closer to the people, man, that's what skateboarding is about.

Your Dad is not just a professional skateboarder but an absolute LEGEND. I seriously can't wait to order my Antidepressant board. So much love and work into this company.
I used to watch your Dad’s part from public domain so many times. I saved up my money and bought his first Powell model. I swear it made me skate better. My favorite deck was the World Industries “Please don’t eat my friends”. He’s a great mentor to have , even if it’s through a 3rd generation copy VHS tape.
Your dad he's an inspiration for me, he inspired me on how to be confortable in my own skin because of his way to see skateboarding and life while i was crossing a very dark moment in my life... i'm so thankful
You're very lucky. Your father is a great man. I saw him for the 1st time at a demo in Westwood N.J. in 1985/1986 and he has been my idol ever since. Much love
Mike V is my favourite skater of all time. His love and dedication and intensity are something else. Such a unique personality full of love and kindness. Emily you too are a beautiful soul! Crazy how social media can get you so close to an idol these days. Keep on trudging forward! Much love from Australia! ✌️☮️❤️
When I was a kid your dad came to our local skate shop in NJ to sign stuff. I couldn't make it, but my friend was nice enough to ask him to sign a poster for me. 20+ years later I still have it. He has an intensity to his skating that can never be duplicated, plus he seems like such a positive nice guy. He's a good role model for kids.
Just ordered a Five Year anniversary deck, wheels, trucks, bearings, and risers from Street Plant. I haven't bought a new set up in literally decades. I did some searching on line for decks at the same time I listened to Mike's Nine Club appearance. After that I just HAD to buy a Street Plant. This is the real deal. I'm soooooo psyched to support you guys and get on this board at age 44!
Mikey V changed my outlook on not only skateboarding but most everything that I have done in life before. He was always the man being so calm and yet can stand up to anyone for what is right and I will always think of him when I need to play my part to be the better person or to make sure nothing goes to overboard. Thank you mike Vallely for everything man you’re the greatest stay passionate. Mad love!
Vallely 3:16 GOAT. Mike V is so chill. My dad was a skateboarder back in the 80's. What a time to be alive and the skateboarding has evolved since. Good seeing you and your dad tackling this business venture together.
Wow..I completely appreciate all that you do as a family run company! What a beautiful philosophy and it's absolutely wonderful that you work with both parents..it makes me teary! Many blessings on all of you! 🙏💯💖
This randomly popped up on my home page, cool inside look. Your father has inspired me to skate and keep skating at 40, but more importantly inspired me to stick to my self in business. You are fortunate to have a good father and mentor. I have a feeling that you are a impactful and grounded influence on the brand and I can't wait to see where Street Plant goes forward! Thanks for supporting the better side of the skate industry and helping it flourish.
Remember watching Mike’s tutorials for Element he made 15+ years back. He helped me with my first set of tricks. So cool you get to work with your dad! He seems very awesome, kind and caring.
I remember Mike from gleaming the cube and early 411's and 411 euro videos. He has always been true to life and skateboarding and him self an amazing person. All the best to street plant an amazing independent company wish i could still skate but my body can't handle the pain or pop anymore.
Your dad was one of the icon of Powell and Peralta back in the mid late 80s along with the Bones brigade squad. He's an important figure in the sport. Now that you've made this little presentation about the company and what it is about I will consider buying from the company. There are a lot of them out there now. But I like your dad's vision stepping away from the corporate world and that's understandable. The sport has evolved into what it is since the beginning of the 90s. But I like the vintage part of the vision your dad has. Thank you Mike and family. Arigato. 🙏 😁
I love Streetplant. Y'all are the core, the surrounding artists, skaters, and families you've collabed with are all awesome. I never would have found Mike Aches, Yutsuke, or Crab had y'all not shored their art. Big up to y'all for keeping true to the vibe. I wish you a lifetime of success with it.
Mike was my idol growing up for sure! Awesome that you guys are keeping the spirit of skateboarding alive. It just wouldn’t be the same without Mike V.
My Girlfriend bought one of the bruce lee collabs and its just too sick for me to even skate so im buying another and the hand written cards are super heart warming to receive to be real honest. Streetplant Forever.
I don't even need a new deck but will buy one soon when I get paid. Mike Vallely was a big influence on my life when I was a young skater. Obviously for his skating but also because of his lifestyle. Tough, compassionate, sincere, determined....
One of the true o.g.’s of skateboarding. Changed the landscape of this whole industry yesterday, today and hopefully for many more years to come. Dope channel as well. Best of luck and keep killing it. ✊🏾
Thankyou for the tour of the Street Plant headquarters. It was very informative to hear both of your insights and philosophies about the company. I have to say I love the shape of that Anti-Depressant deck. When I got back into skating recently, I really wanted a deck with a fishtail shape (just like I used to ride in the 80s.) I did notice a few on the market but they often had other features that didn't really suit me (like the wheel base being too short etc.) So I ended up with a popsicle instead. If only I had known about Street Plant earlier....
Hey you're dad's a great guy. Glad to see he's still in the biz. I was lucky enough to have a session with him at the Brooklyn Banks NYC (he showed me how to nollie) when we were younger. Best wishes to you guys! I'm still looking for Animal Chin till this day!
I am skating a street plant now and I love skating it. I am 44 yr old and Mike V is my all time favorite skateboarder I met you twice at 4 DWN skatepark at a couple of Mike krums events in Dallas Tx
Your dads a beast. Its like he doesnt age! I saw him at 3rd Lair Skatepark in Minneapolis for Tony Hawk's Gigantic Skatepark Tour. He went hangin from the rafters and did some kind of acid drop onto a bank ramp like a madman! That was back in like 2001 and i was 10 or 11 years old. He was and still is a major positive influence and role model for me. If you go back and watch that clip from the Tony Hawk tour, i am the kid they zoomed in on in the crowd with the red shirt and silver helmet 😆 holding up the ✌for Vallely. Oh and i totally dig the Jerry Garcia board (~);}
You’re lucky to have a dad like Mike, I always wanted to meet him but never had the chance. He was the reason why I started skating and he was the one skater I always looked up to. Please tell your dad I said hello. Thanks, Martin. And thanks for the cool vids.
Thanks for the great videos you put out, they do have a positive energy to them and it's so welcoming to see. 'Been a fan of your pops since the 80's (yeah, I'm an old-er dood) and I believed in his energy from his interviews I read since the 80's. Felt like it was just a few years ago! It's great to see you all work together, for a family like yours, damn, what a blessing to see. Just wow... as a father myself, I know how truly hard it is to raise well balanced, healthy minded and positive energy kids. It's *SO* hard, it feels impossible, but here you are (and your sister as well). Just fantastic. Keep up the good work. The look & feel & sound (great background music) of all your videos really make my day. Domo arigato.
I cant believe it has taken me this long to get a Street Plant board. Was tough to make my first choice!!! Going with the Samurai Head deck and the 56mm Scadrels wheels...Cant Wait!! I'm relocating from Long Beach ca. to Portland Or, will happily represent the Street Plant brand. Thank you !!!
I met Mike V twice in my life: once at El Dorado skatepark in Long Beach, CA when I was 13 yrs old (I'm 31 now), where he was signing posters for Accel wheels and second like 12 years later while he was jogging at Heartwell park, I stopped him to say "whats up" and fanboy for a bit, but he was so REAL, down to earth and appreciative of the support. From that day forward, when Street Plant came out, they had my business from the get go!!!
Great video! I just placed my second order last week. Thank you to you and the Street Plant family for being there for the community. I will be happy to make many orders in the future.
Your Dad was so inspiring for me as a young guy in the 80's and looked forward to skate issues with him in them! Thank you Mike and Family! We share Y'alls Vibe and I look forward to getting a Street Plant deck! Awesome Video! Thanx Again!

Your father is a legend in the skate world.. one of the few famous skaters that have no problem knuckling up and fighting people who unjustly or illegally mess with kids just trying to have fun. I've always had a ton of respect for your father. idk why i never even knew he had a daughter, but i just found this channel on accident and im now a subscriber. Looking forward to your content!!
First heard of street plant from a skater i met joey jett at a local park in north Florida , the way he was skating blew me away .. he was blasting air to fakies so high above coping it was scaring the shit out of me .. hes since got the recognition he deserves ... so has street plant its cool to see !! 🤟🏻 mikes a legend!!
Really appreciate your take on skateboarding and the love you two put into your brand. Thanks for bringing some much needed authenticity into the skate industry!
This is how skate and surf companies should be home grown, down to earth REAL!! Not some major corporations bull crap. Keep up the great work guys yeeew stoked

Thanks Mike and Emily what a good start to the day watching this thank you thank you for mentioning us as not as fans or customers but the battalion we know what this means we are like bearings in a wheel all working together for a common goal what we all bring is priceless
Awesome video! Street Plant it's a bless for the skate world. I still remember when I had the chance to meet Mike in Italy years ago: I was so hyped that I told him "you...you are...the greatest man in the world!" And he laughed so hard 😂
Growing up mike was my favorite skater ever. He’s the reason I learned the Airwalk. The other day I got chatting with a old friend and chatted about most influential people in your young days. Naturally mike came up and I’m so glad to see mike is doing well and that he’s still ripping it up. Here’s a sub
This was great. Thank you for sharing. It is a rad company because it completely represents everything good in skateboarding and who I have always believed Mike V is a person. It is just the natural step in the journey, but not the last step.
When I was younger I loved watching Mike Vallely videos. I came across his 5 hour interview with 9 club, and I’m amazed at how articulate, intelligent and down to earth he is. Beyond being a pro skater, he seems to truly be an artist as well. You can really feel both his admiration for his daughter, and her admiration for him. It’s beautiful to see. I wish for you guys only positive things for the future.
Growing up and playing him in the thps games was my childhood. The getting into black flag and listening to them just to find out he’s their singer too, blew my mind. Some people are just suppose to be a main figure in others lives 🤘
still have the deck he signed “To keenan, never give up, Mike Vallely” that was a demo in freehold NJ probably about 11 years ago on go skate day drove a few hours good memories
Your dad inspired me so much as a kid! I’m 35 and still skate, and your dad plays a huge part of that. You seem like a very mice young lady. I hope you go on to do amazing things.

Your so blessed 👏🏽 your father is a living legend. You have know idea how much he love’s you & the family a tru “Rad Dad! “
Wow..I completely appreciate all that you do as a family run company! What a beautiful philosophy and it's absolutely wonderful that you work with both parents..it makes me teary! Many blessings on all of you! 🙏💯💖
I still remember Mike V's 411 where you said my daddy does kickflip.
Been following Mike since he was a kid and I can say I'm amazed of the man he became... Definitely a family I look up to
Much love from France...
Mike Vallely is the man-a true legend in skateboarding. The nostalgia was so real while watching this. Love what you guys are doing!
Zolus Props and Cosplay thanks so much for the kind words!!
I skated in the 80',s and your dad was a huge influence on me. I am so happy to see him where he is today.
Remember watching Mike’s tutorials for Element he made 15+ years back. He helped me with my first set of tricks. So cool you get to work with your dad! He seems very awesome, kind and caring.
This is so great the Bruce Lee board is crazy!
I met your dad in the late 80s,he is a very inspirational person to me.I'm stoked you are partners with him,all the best!!
Mike was my idol growing up for sure! Awesome that you guys are keeping the spirit of skateboarding alive. It just wouldn’t be the same without Mike V.
Sweet video! Thanks for being transparent and so loving!
Mike V,Rodney Mullen,Tony Hawk's the pioneers of shredding.
I met mike once in Seattle at a sno con store he changed my life .......
Mike Vallely is the man!! Always been a stand up dude and bad ass skater!! Super cool that you get to work with your dad. Hes a legend!
Your dad is the man I used to watch all his videos when I was growing up
Your dads a beast. Its like he doesnt age! I saw him at 3rd Lair Skatepark in Minneapolis for Tony Hawk's Gigantic Skatepark Tour. He went hangin from the rafters and did some kind of acid drop onto a bank ramp like a madman! That was back in like 2001 and i was 10 or 11 years old. He was and still is a major positive influence and role model for me. If you go back and watch that clip from the Tony Hawk tour, i am the kid they zoomed in on in the crowd with the red shirt and silver helmet 😆 holding up the ✌for Vallely. Oh and i totally dig the Jerry Garcia board (~);}
Thank you so much for the kind words!
Thank You, Much Love!
I remember Mike from the 80's... Mike and Natas were and still are my favorite street skaters of my day👍
I met Mike V twice in my life: once at El Dorado skatepark in Long Beach, CA when I was 13 yrs old (I'm 31 now), where he was signing posters for Accel wheels and second like 12 years later while he was jogging at Heartwell park, I stopped him to say "whats up" and fanboy for a bit, but he was so REAL, down to earth and appreciative of the support.
From that day forward, when Street Plant came out, they had my business from the get go!!!
Thanks Aaron! Much Love!!!!
Thats totally RAD !!! Wish you guys all the best !!! Cheers from Czech Republic !!!
Hi Adam..
Great video! I just placed my second order last week. Thank you to you and the Street Plant family for being there for the community. I will be happy to make many orders in the future.
Thanks so much for your support! It is so truly appreciated!
Thanks for Your Support Matthew!!!!
I just bought a streetplant shirt and was suprised to find a handwritten note from a skateboarding legend. Much love from Texas Mike V and Family
Your Dad was so inspiring for me as a young guy in the 80's and looked forward to skate issues with him in them! Thank you Mike and Family! We share Y'alls Vibe and I look forward to getting a Street Plant deck! Awesome Video! Thanx Again!
Rob Stockman thanks so much Rob!
@@EmilyPertzborn I was just wondering Is the Dimebag Darrell tribute deck still available? We're here on Texas and would love to add it to my Collection!👍 Y'all have a Great1 and please tell your Pops Hi for me!

I met mike in early 00’s was the nicest pro I ever met he always motivated me to go out and skate hard
Your Dad is a Legend, awesome to see what a great relationship you guys have.

Thanks Mike and Emily what a good start to the day watching this thank you thank you for mentioning us as not as fans or customers but the battalion we know what this means we are like bearings in a wheel all working together for a common goal what we all bring is priceless
So glad you showed the company ..love the vibe
Mike is a legend,I have been a fan since the 80s.Its so cool to see you working with your family
Super dope guys! Radical family for sure 😁
Mike v is legend! Love himmm so much🔥🔥🔥🔥🙌🙌🙌
When I was younger I loved watching Mike Vallely videos.
Your Dad's a Legend
🤘🤘🤘
still have the deck he signed “To keenan, never give up, Mike Vallely” that was a demo in freehold NJ probably about 11 years ago on go skate day drove a few hours good memories
Your dad inspired me so much as a kid! I’m 35 and still skate, and your dad plays a huge part of that. You seem like a very mice young lady. I hope you go on to do amazing things.
I actually found both yours and your sisters channel because I’ve always followed your dad since the early days and then instagram so this was super fun to see and was so pumped when I found the thumbnail!
Proud Street Plant Battalion member from Australia !!
Keep up the rad work guys and good luck.
I saw mike when I was a kid, one of the most memorable days as a kid. One of my favorite skaters of all time, mind you I’m old.
Another awesome video! Your dad looks so much like someone I know! Even his expressions and mannerisms, it’s tripping me out!
