Wow, this was awesome! I was not disappointed at all. Amazing how lightweight MIDI really is; all the old equipment was so limited but you could get so much out of it.
MIDI never cease to amaze me. I think as a technology it isn't given as much recognition as it deserves by the wider IT community. It appears that creatives developing a tool to help artistic endeavours isn't as interesting as office or gaming software. That MIDI works, works well, has done for decades now, and melds disparate equipment into a seamless whole p makes me think that that underlying need it satisfies has a certain purity about it.

The Atari Portfolio sure does make some pretty good chip tunes.
It does not make any chiptune at all. It's an icon, delivering the hard- and software to make it.
This is nice, it actually shows you the MIDI format, the three bytes for every note. Very nice eye opener!
