From someone that has a stroke at 30 and had brain damage in my cerebellum and that brain fog you said was how i felt. It was so hard to make it through the day. I spent the whole day trying to act normal and by the end of the day i was drained. It was so hard to explain the issue to people. Glad you have somewhat come through this and wish you all the good things you deserve.
You should make email the company that he went too and maybe that would help you and your injury as well, its worth a shot we have to be proactive with are recovery sometimes, i'd totally give it a shot!!!
I really appreciate this video. I had mild concussion a year ago and another maybe 2 years earlier. Ive been noticing a lot of these symptoms lately but didnt think much of them. Ill definitely be looking into what i can do about it! Glad you're feeling better!
Hey, Steve, shout outs to you. I had a stroke on Labor Day, 2022, and can totally relate. Mine was ischemic rather than a bleed, but still major (not a TMI). It's wild to try to do things we used to do, and find that (1) they are really hard! and (2) we have to work so much to achieve what we used to take for granted as "normal."

So glad you're doing better man! I got a concussion my first week or my junior year of Electrical engineering and failed a bunch of classes because of it. It was so hard and I had headaches and anxiety for months. It means so much to me to see people recover from their brain injuries. Even though they might be invisible to everyone else, they are so real and are still so important.
Scotty - your story underscores the need to fund research into the human brain. Your story is inspiring and uplifting, and I am so glad to hear you are doing better. I missed your content, as I'm sure others did as well. You are an inspiration to people, keep up the great work!
I’m so happy to hear you’re doing so much better. Health issues are EXHAUSTING. When I got COVID I couldn’t read an entire paragraph out loud without having tons of issues, and it freaked me out. So glad it’s not an issue anymore. That clinic is so amazing to hear about. I’m so glad they reached out to you! One thing is for sure, your ability to tell and amazing story is totally there. So, so good. Happy for you, friend!
That is very crazy never heard of that, sounds more like it was a inflmation of the heart artery to the brain and wasn't getting enough blood to the brain area of thinking and comprehension
I watched your first video on your concussion when it came out, and between the time of that video and this one I had a stroke, completely unexpectedly at the age of 35. It affected my balance and coordination for a couple weeks. At first I could barely stand, but thankfully with time and physical therapy I'm now basically 100% back to normal a month and a half later. This is just to say that having had a brain injury myself put these videos of yours in a new perspective, and I really appreciate you putting these out there. It's amazing how the brain can heal itself, but it's also important for people to know how it affects people, that it can happen to anyone, and it's not something to be taken lightly.
Thank you so much for sharing this story. It is the exact same thing I went through when I suffered an over 1 year long concussion. Nothing really prepares you for the feeling of having lost yourself entirely and beginning to think the you that once was may have ceased to exist. I too was told to stay in a dark room and do breathing exercises, which I did for months, and it served to prolong my concussion. About halfway through my treatment, new studies had come out (thankfully) showing that the better way to recover is to return to life as normal with breaks as needed to allow rest. That combined with plenty of cardio exercise is what helped me return to a semblance of normal. Thank you for posting this story so that others may not have to go through a year or more of post concussion syndrome before they start feeling better. Everything you've said here is something I wish I knew prior to my injury.
Oh and coincidentally I am a camera/lighting Tech working in the Toronto film union. If you're interested, I'd love to talk to you about your need of a camera guy if you're still looking

Dang, man. This was a great story, thank you for telling us all about your experience. I work in the physical therapy and musculoskeletal treatment space as a software engineer, and hearing our patients sign praises of being able to get back to an active and involved lifestyle keeps me waking up in the morning. So many people suffer from injuries that have treatments, but they have never been told or given access to these treatments. Hearing stories like yours can really give people hope, and that counts for a lot when you are healing from *any* injury. Thank you again, I will be sharing your story at work next week.
we need companies to give out more information on how to heal with things people can do at home for free to give access more to more people because not everyone can go to a clinic like this or have the money to go to do this.

I love how you managed to talk about something so serious and also entirely unrelated to the visual but still managed to take us on a journey through a little project from start to finish. Never change Scotty!
I so feel you here, this video resonated with me sooo much! ❤ I've had LONG COVID this year for over 5 months... with the bran fog and I have recovered from it late October and getting medical care was a freaking disaster... they did not know how to treat it and even referred me to a psychiatrist thinking it was "stress"... Your story about how your brain fog symptoms made you feel, especially that part about having your livelihood stripped and the depression that sets in not knowing if you're F*ed for the rest of your life... It brought a tear to my eye seeing clips from the past seeing that, that was EXACTLY what was happening to me... You had a physical thing happen to you, but do you know how hard it was explaining let alone getting people to believe me what was happening? I hope and pray that others see your video and can get the help too!!! Merry Christmas / Happy Holidays and best wishes for your future ambitions!
Treating long covid as stress, that's ridiculous… sorry you're dealing with this. So many people are affected and still so little is known about this disease, if it's even just one disease given the wide range of symptoms. There is research ongoing, but unlike a well-known virus that we had an RNA sequence for very quickly and could target with vaccines, long covid isn't as simple. I hope you're getting better and that all those affected will soon have more options and will be believed and treated accordingly.
I can relate to this so much. I'm finally getting better from Covid brain fog and it's been a long time coming. The stupid thing is there are many studies that detail the exact issues (vascular issues) but the response is sporadic at best. What helped for you the most? For me fasting/reducing inflammation and just time have helped the most.
@@KarkleM Wow... where do I start? There's a few journal articles on this subject, I didn't see vascular issues per se... I did find something that seemed to work for me, although I can't express fully everything in a comment, I started supps that they recommended, such as NAC, etc. and some of my own assumptions that the brain damage repair might need higher levels of Omega-3 DHA/EPA and such... also these are non-toxic and let my body clear the damage. I have my own thoughts what happened, The article in "Metabolites" talks about COVID's damage to the Mitochondria, interrupting the Krebs cycle... I was having no-energy, I would get zapped. I had difficultly breathing, yet my lungs were tested and was fine... etc. NAC recharges glutathione, so I knew that from a MedCram lecture back in 2020 when I had acute long-covid breathing problems oh that sucked! Another thing I'd check for is low potassium... even if it is low, it might not be optimal... I had low levels, but not consider hypokalemia... still it could account for breathing difficulty and brain fog and low energy... maybe the body needs more potassium to combat COVID and the symptoms are a sign of the depletion? That's my own question... Also my LDL was really high 260 and HDL was 56, higher than I normally saw it... I know that the brain is made of Cholesterol, so I think that the body is healing, rebuilding the brain... however, the Docs wanted me on statins ASAP... A side-effect is memory loss and confusion... uh... I've already got that! so I refused, because I know that the body does things for a reason, and while I'm "injured" with Brain-F I didn't want to interfere with that. If you want more info, or you have info to share with me... please... find my channel I do Halloween stuff, subscribe if you like that (LOL) just kidding... anyway, find the ABOUT tab and click below and you'll see my email there... Send me a message and I'll be willing to open up a lot more on this topic... I hope you get over this horrible thing and I want to help anybody with this!!!
Your experience is so similar to mine, and I'm thankful for hearing your story. I'm hoping that someday I'll get back to 100% after my concussion as well.

Funny though you have same colour as me. I was in an accident 8 years ago, I lost lower left leg now mostly in a wheelchair. I am getting better but I think 95% up to now, I don't think it be better. Glad you're recovering, it's heartbreaking that the only way to get treatment in the US is to already be a famous UA-camr, you can imagine the thousands of regular people without a platform that never get help.
My dad got hit over the back over the head during a mugging and had the a very similar experience. A few years later he started noticing muscle weakness and pains after lots of doctors he was told that he had developed MS because he was genetically at risk already and during the healing process his immune system started attacking his brain. Keep an eye on that. Best of wishes, get well soon.

@@Emira_75 +1 on that - tv is dying a slow death and nobody is seeing because nobody cares.... - youtube will have more reach he just needs to make that a stable revenue stream
The Discovery channel isn't what it used to be - it's all reality TV rubbish now, none of the intelligent programming that they used to do 5-10 years ago. I wouldn't agree that TV is dead - just look up "The Secret Genius of Modern Life" on the BBC as an example - it's just that if you're looking for something to stretch your brain cells, you're not going to find it on Discovery or on 95% of current TV channels.
@@Emira_75 100% - If Scotty has been forunate enough to have discovered this level of success in UA-cam, moving into TV would most certainly be soul destroying. All freedoms out the window for a smaller audoence, others taking as big a piece of the pie that they can...
@@willardroad The worst part me for is that you are never the same you again. Mentally you keep trying to be the old you but they are gone. Best of luck my friend it's a hard journey for recovery but you have to push through it!
@@steve_main Thanks, Steve. Weirdly, altho it was scary and you are correct that life is much different, my stroke was a wake-up call to make changes in my life - not just health stuff, but how I talked to people. Every conversation could be the last, and in that case a LOT of stuff that used to make me upset just doesn't matter anymore! Sounds crazy, but I think my stroke made me a better person!? * insert huge shrug here *
Thank you for sharing this story! I had a brain injury years ago and know how dark and confusing the journey can be. ❤
Man I just cried so much watching this video. The strenght it takes is enormous. Keep it up. You a legend.
I'm glad you're doing better - and really happy you're speaking out about this! Especially the bad advice you got, that most of us probably still get...
yay welcome back glad to hear ur doing better
Thank you this gives me hope it's been over a decade since I had my major brain injury and it's been rough and seeing this gives me hope it's been hard some days to not just give up and get angry but seeing you get better has helped me so from one Scott to another thank you for helping me keep my hopes up
I'm so glad you are feeling better, and are going to start new projects, Scotty, I'll defiantly join your Patreon in a couple months' time. Have always enjoyed your videos and contend, and will look forward to all your new projects. best regards from Denmark, take care. Peter.
Thank you Scotty for turning on my lights (11:07), and also good to hear that you are feeling better!
@@M_Lopez_3D_Artist hot garbage comment. That’s not even in the neighborhood of how it works .
So many of us were worried that you wouldn't / couldn't be back. Glad to hear your story and that you are feeling so much better.
Jetlag season 6?!?! I am so excited, and hope you are feeling better
Hey Scotty, It was Crazy seeing you at The Treefort Festival in Boise today!! I was the Security guard that recognized you! lol Thanks much for the sticker bro!
Glad to hear from you and that you're better. Would love to get a 'factory tour' as to what your treatment roughly looked like. I guess they won't be able to show a lot but it'd be super interesting to get a glimpse at the awesome approach they seem to utilise. Looking forward to new content again and I'm hoping the patreon will fuel your future endeavours. Power to you Scottie!
We actually did a short video showing off what the treatment was like: ua-cam.com/users/shortszn-DMU7zsRU
Congratulations mate, I’m glad your near enough back to full health 😊
great recovery Good Luck! I had a similar injury too, not knowing if i could feel normal again was the scariest part so I understand your feelings. All is well now, and I happy for your recovery too
i cannot wait to see JETLAG Season 6 Japan i knew i saw a familair face :) see u soon
Man, your story is so inspiring. I'm a burn survivor myself and I'm now Gibb through a digestive shut down that doctor's can't figure out. I've been out of work as a high voltage lineman for 16 months with no income and was at my wits end.
I REALLY needed this story to recharge my faith and hope.
God Bless you Scott. If I wasn't in Florida I'd love to work with you just because I feel connected in our traumatic accidents.
From someone who has be concussed to hell and back, I’m glad you’re going good!
Don’t let this let you down. I’ve been living with similar stuff for a long time. Make sure people around you know. Sometimes it can get ugly.
I hope ive had your advice months ago, ive had a concussion a year ago and its been months of headaches.
Thank you for making this problem visible to the world
Take care man, health always comes first
I'm so thrilled to see you smiling again. I've watched your videos for years now and always loved the happy content you make.

You're awesome, thank you!!!
So happy to hear from you. Happy to hear that you are recovering. Looking forward for your videos and contents..
So glad you are doing better! Thank you for being so open and sharing.

So good to hear .... great you are back thanks
I'm so glad you're doing well. I once heard that _"when you've seen one brain injury, you've seen one brain injury."_ Nobody really knows how a person will react to it, and everyone is impacted and recovers differently.
The _depressive_ aspect of your injury is one of things people don't often think about. I'm sure it only made things worse.
Thanks for sharing your experience with this; I think it's really important. I've been a fan for a long time and glad you're doing so much better!
So glad to hear you're getting better! You're such an inspiration and I love your content! Please take your time to get better and well be here waiting for you!

Super glad to see you back, watched your two videos of iPhone during initial days of CoViD 19. Take care and glad to watch your engineering skills and insights.
Great to hear that you are feeling better!
Feeling so happy about your recovery, the improvements on your health. I really feel happy about how u're doing. Love you and you're work, hugs from brazil
Really clever way to tell the story while making the dock. Looking forward to the next stage of Strange Parts and I'm happy to hear you're better!
Thank you for sharing. I had a brain injury resulting in 4 craniotomies in four years. It’s a struggle because doctors don’t have a lot of experience with people that have had multiple brain injuries. I appreciate when someone shares their story.
I'm so happy you're doing better. I really appreciate your videos. You have such a wholesome and beautiful nature that it's infectious even though the series of tubes we call home.
Cognitive stuff is so damn hard. I’m glad to hear the treatment has been so effective.
Wishing you the very best for the next stage of your recovery & UA-camr journey.
Really glad to hear that you are doing better finally! As someone also working with my brain and having a hard time using it as I was used to for a couple of months this year, due to long covid, I really get what you mean. I am also happy I can finally work again. ps If you need someone for factory tours or embedded stuff in Europe or somewhere else drop me a line. ;-)
May you be blessed, lots of prayers for you to get full health and speedy recovery amen !
I love how you managed to talk about something so serious and also entirely unrelated to the visual but still managed to take us on a journey through a little project from start to finish. Never change Scotty!
We enjoyed a great journey with you... discover this channel few months back...still missing old strange part's...
Sending you good thoughts in your recovery, Dave. Stick with it, and continue seeking out treatment. I've heard tons of incredible recovery stories since I've started sharing my journey. And thank you for the support, it's much appreciated!
@@StrangeParts I have been battling with undiagnosed neurological symptoms for years. I didn't have a concussion but have experienced many symptoms of it. The medical system is so frustrating because they're so quick to dismiss neurological symptoms and getting specialist treatment is very difficult
You should make a helmet. I’m sure designing yourself a factory tour helmet Would be a very interesting.
Glad to hear you are healing. Always enjoy your videos.
I had an untreated head injury caused by my basketball coach and the wood floor. Right in the back center, hypothalamus. My body temp has fluctuated dramatically ever since. I really feel like that changed the course of my life and I don't think I ever really recovered. I hope you're feeling like your old self, take care and I look forward to whatever content you produce and whenever if comes out. No rush:) Take care!! Thanks for all your videos and hard work!
You know what be great would be this company he went to that got this treatment to give out videos on what people can do for free to help brain injuries and i think that would be great because not everyone can be famous and have money to be able to go to a clinic like this.
I'm happy for you, man! I wish you the best and look forward to your future content :D
So happy your just about to get right back into it. Love your content and glad you took the time you need to recover.

I just saw this. This is super duper awesome that recovery is going great. I hope you will be doing even better. It is really awesome seeing you come back. You are awesome and continuing staying awesome.
Hi Scotty, I am more or less like you almost every way. One thing you didn't mention Migraine. Yes, timing mess me up, or getting those migraine starting with my eye getting fuzzy then my brain start to hurt, I have the pills to stopped it. It was too much I had to retire early, that was few years ago. I am still doing my electronics, drawing and cad work for 3d printing. I do rest a lot, not quite 12 hours some time. Funny though you have same colour as me. I was in an accident 8 years ago, I lost lower left leg now mostly in a wheelchair. I am getting better but I think 95% up to now, I don't think it be better. I have been supports by doctors and that was last year. I guess maybe to stay as retire for now, I am 61. Happy Christmas to you.
I feel for you, hugs

Thank you so much for the kind words and generous support!

Best of wishes, get well soon.
sorry to say the immune system does not attack the body i would totally look into medical medium books he has amazing results for people with injuries and i would really give it a try its worth a shot.
@@M_Lopez_3D_Artist Multiple sclerosis is considered to be an immune-mediated disease in which the body's immune system attacks the central nervous system (CNS).
