I applaud you on your ingenuity in designing something new. I must stress the importance of an SRV (Safety Release Valve) on the canister/font. Thermal feedback from a pot or pan can increase the temperature of the canister and cause a very devastating rupture. I would not use an SRV designed for a SVEA 123 simply because the brass tank may be rated for higher pressures than the canister base in which you have. Your stove looks awesome and is a nice accomplishment but it definitely has potential to causing great bodily injury. I suggest that you put it on a shelf, admire it, and tell stories to all that will listen. Above all...be safe

I have thought about putting a mantle on it but I'm not sure how to get proper thermal feedback without the burner bell. But mainly what has kept me from trying it is how fragile those mantles are, I'd go through a dozen of them just messing with it. From my experiments alcohol is harder to force-vaporize than white gas. Thanks for checking it out!

Absolutely Phenomenal! Wonder if you placed a mantel on top if a lantern arrangement would be possible? Imagine two different functions! Screw on the the stove or screw on lantern. Would have liked to see the priming as well. The original Svea uses white gas I wonder if alcohol creates too much pressure? Ive seen coil pressure stoves work with alcohol so im not sure as to why Svea doesn't use alcohol as well.
Great work! A detail how to would be fantastic although this vid is pretty informative.

Nice work!! Not to be too much of a safety nanny, but I would prefer to see an over-pressure relief on the tank somewhere, like the original SVEA has (I'm sure its there for a good reason, like if something else fails, or you turn it off hot, or it gets somehow overheated ...)...maybe when you figure out a filler arrangement, you could incorporate one... Cheers

Leather? Now that's something I did not think of. Thanks for the comment!

give this a try Permatex 81422 3 oz Hi-Temp Silicone RTV Gasket Maker
also try using leather gasket in place of the graphite packing.

    Greetings,
What you are attempting is interesting, but very dangerous!! And, it somewhat disingenuous to call this a SVEA stove, which it most certainly is NOT! Here on YT, you have people who are willing to try anything and everything. Your attempt here, whilst seemingly workable, may lead these folks down a very bad path, the doing of which may possibly severely injure, or even cause their death!! NOT something that you should be doing, IMHO!!! For what it's worth.....
Worried about misuse by those who don't know any better!
