Stoney's voice and the musical arrangement was a better fit for Stoney's recording. Guessing Wynn's version was recorded about 10 years before Stonry's. Still, it's hard to beat any Wynn Stewart recording.
Definitely got that late 50's early 60's country sound before the hippies came in and changed country forever. Never heard of the guy till today but supposedly an early creator of "The Bakersfield sound">/l;/
The most underrated artist out there.
Real country music, folks! Screw the new!
You need to give Landon Dodd a listen on this cut. He is one of the young, true country stars keeping real country alive.
I find this sing both sad and hilarious.
Sad-funny😊
I enjoy it.
Wynn Stewart was such a great singer this song could be many guys story
Saddest song ever!
Folks Buck/Merle may have invented Bakersfield Sound, but Wynn Stewart also a major contributor. But very under rated as Buck/Merle took all credit.
Merle admired Wynn and mentioned him manytimes !
Buck and Merle copied Wynn Stewart. He was the Bakersfield Sound before it was the Bakersfield Sound.
Wynn was the King of Bakersfield. Merel was his bass player. Buck was just a copy cat. Bless all of them.
Thanks Tommy
Brings back many memories Thanks
Thanks Tommy!
That's a new one or me. Awesome!
Allmost as good as Stony Edward,s recording
