That was amazing when we saw it. That was always in my top 10 favorite songs from them. It was an amazing treat when they pulled it out. It's one of their best compositions.
When you look up " potboiler ", this song is one of the first entries. Great, gradual buildup to a wondrous ending. Even better live, but, for Rush, that is another day at the office. RIP Professor
New subscriber and happy to be here! Appreciate the style you've got going for react videos (I usually can't stand the overdone or overblown takes), and agree very much with you takes on this live track.
Thanks for the sub. I like watching/listening to the whole song first usually if someone would have waited 5 more seconds alot of their questions would be answered.
I think Alex and Neil had to be so focused because of the intricate and progressive stuff they played. Someone asked Tool's guitarist why he never "did much but stand there looking at his guitar" during a song, and he said he is always too busy counting!
What Rush fans were you talking to? 😂 Most fans I know have very eclectic music tastes. Almost every Rush fan I know is either in the music industry or in the Media and love all types of music. I'm so sorry that you were exposed to bad apples.
Alex Lifeson serious? Out of all the band members he clowns around and interacts the most with the fans on stage. p.s. I'm a lifelong Rush fan, since the 70's, and Pink Floyd is my second favorite band. 😊
LOVE the reaction!! :) Maybe check out NEIL PEART Buddy Rich HONOR??? :) ♥ “Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you believe in Him so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” ~ Romans 15:13
The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra did a cd of Rush music an did not include this, in my opinion the most orchestral piece they ever did, most disappointing.
I was privileged enough to see them play this. My 46th birthday in Tampa 2015 R40. It was an incredible experience.

If you like Freewill, check out the live version from Time Machine tour Cleveland 2011. 3 guys in their late 50's absolutely smashing it.
