This will be my first Christmas without my Mom. We lost her back in March from a very sudden illness. It's going to be hard spending Christmas without her, but she'd want us to enjoy ourselves, and she'd want me to decorate my house. I'm gonna do my best to go on strong and decorate in her memory, as well as my Dad's because they both enjoyed decorating during the holidays. I miss both my parents, I love them, I know they're no longer in pain, but I miss them so much. I'll have angels on my roof to honour their memories. I'll continue spreading joy this holiday season for them. That's what they would've wanted. I hope everyone has a great Christmas this year. Even through dark times, we should do our best to make others smile, because everyone needs that love and care. Merry Christmas!

So last year, I did the things we usually did - watched some classic Christmas movies, played video games, and I made her pumpkin pie and had it for breakfast like I always have. Keep the traditions going even when they are gone. Memories will be in your heart forever and while it might be hard, keeping those traditions keeps a part of them alive. It’s crazy how one holiday could make someone so happy and I’m so glad it does because my dads mom / my grandma died near Christmas when he was only 8 and my dad stopped liking Christmas until me and my brother were born. Every Christmas we have a tradition were we put a mattress on the living room floor and watch movies all day and I am so grateful for this because it made my dad remember that he can be happy as long as he has people who care about him. Love you dad Love you grandma I never got to meet and thank you god for making me and my family happy and forgiving all the mistakes me and my family and others have made.

It's been 17 years since my sister passed away. She was only 68. She was 10 years older than me. It was such a pleasure to spend Christmas at her house with all our family and extended family and friends. She was a very accomplished pianist and the joy of Christmas Eve with her playing the piano and giving everyone sheets of paper with the words to each song (as if we didn't know them by heart anyway). Those bring back so many pleasant memories, to this day it is very difficult for me (now 73) to listen to choirs or paianists play Christmas melodies without a huge lump in my throat and silently streaming tears. It's almost unbearable because I miss her so much. She was a great mom to her 3 kids, and for 4 years a foster mom for newborns. Educated with college degree followed by 2 years of pre-med, then 4 years of med school, the another 6 years getting Board Certified.. Such a wonderful person who cared for others more than she did for herself. I hope she is spreading her self sacrificing persona to all those in Heaven with her especially during the Christmas season and beyond. And finally - God, help me through time to never forget her and hope to see her again in heaven.
