My dad worked for 3M in the 50s and 60s, abrasive products division, called on Euclid often. One time I was taken along, and got a little tour of the plant.. as a wee child, it all looked SO huge. We also drove by the plant quite often, and I would count the dump trucks and scrapers waiting for shipping, as we drove by. Euclid forever! Nice to see this saved.
My dad was Service Manager for Euclid Memphis Sales in the time when this 1959 machine of yours was built. I was mid-teens and very impressed with a yard full of monsters like the TC-12. Euclid has/had its own specific style and color. I remember one fellow driving one of these scrapers on a project in Mississippi. He was high on the sound of his machine and didn't want a new muffler on his stack. Driving a scraper seemed to be a joy to that fellow, maybe it was with them all. They sure can make a lot of thrilling diesel noise and the sense of power of the screaming Jimmies must sometimes be intoxicating.
I have a pal that got the tractor part like this in 2 pieces. Had to weld it back together. No back tires but sheepsfoot roller drums. 6-71, straight drive, the whole thing. Looked like it pulled a pan at one time but not now. Still runs.
@@dieseldoctor25 Dobro is an instrument mostly used for playing bluegrass music. I was watching a video about them and left a comment' don't know how it ended up here?
The reason GM terex never stayed in business it's because they overbuilt shit and it never broke down so that's why they never made as much money. But yeah every freaking Euclid terex GM machine I've ever run has never busted down or broke or anything they just built the dang things like a brick shithouse and they never failed .
That poor girl sounds like she's running away, you should've changed gears bcause that engine is working over from what it supposed to be doing, but other than that & you need a new tire on the back of the bowl bcause there's no tread left on that tire, that tire looks like one of the original ones because with all the tread gone it looks old & could blow any time
@dieseldoctor25 Ohhh, okay,I was just wondering why you were running it at high throttle for & you need to get those breaks fixed so you can turn the throttle down & you need to have help changing that tire,I heard in the video that it takes you I think you said 3 hours to change one tire,so yeah you need some help with that too get it changed
Just before you started the up Euclid, the story that you told was probably very interesting but honestly, I couldn't hear you. You might try moving the mic up a little closer.
a well earned thumbs up good sir. I really enjoyed that. A testament on how well those old machines were engineered and built.
thank you.!
