Let's Try Amazon's Best Selling JUICER!

- I've had several requests for masticating juicers, so I bought the best selling model to test out. Regarding the capacity, I hadn't noticed at 6:43 that there was some residual orange juice still in the container, so that is likely one reason it overflowed. 4 small apples does seem to be about the limit, though.

Both the spout and pulp spout look like they extend far enough out from the device that you could probably put your own mug under the juice spout, and a larger tupperware style container under the pulp spout. Might make juicing larger quantities less of an issue.
The containers they provide need to be larger, they are tiny.
This is overflowing! That's overflowing! EVERYTHING'S OVERFLOWING!
If the worst part of something is a part you can easily replace yourself with stuff you almost certainly have already, that's honestly not bad at all.
Funny you showed the Jack Lalanne Power Juicer, I still have mine too and it still works!
Me Too!
I have one too and just replaced the blade. I wish some of these videos would juice more greens. I'm ready to get this one if I can find out how it handles greens.
When my partner was dealing with cancer and chemo therapy, she really liked having fresh squeezed orange juice. I was using one of those plastic juicers that sits on top of a measuring cup. While I didn't find it a particular chore to do that, I think this machine got a lot more juice out of the orange than I ever did.
Back in the 1990's a friend of mine had a juicer which looked like an industrial machine. It would juice full size carrots without cutting them up first. We used to joke it could probably juice a brick if you needed it to.
I was pleasantly impressed overall, except for the collection containers. I think that were the containers larger, and clipped to the sides, with the spout sitting slightly below the top of the container, I would give it a solid 9. It looks to be very powerful, and the reverse button is a nice added touch. This makes me want to end my 5 year break from juicing! 😊
Before the overflow i noticed you still had a bunch of orange juice in there! lol
I was saying noo theres still orange juice in there lol
@@t-revstastetube8900 me too! 😂😂
Seriously!
I guess he got distracted by trying to film a video, talking to a camera, and didn't notice.
I love that he didn't even question why the apple juice looked orange yellow
This looks great. I have an orange tree in my back yard and spend quite of bit of time making juice. This is much faster and less messy. I could add the amount of pulp i like back into it afterwards. Also have grapefruit and lemons but those fruits pretty much go to waste. Great video!
I had one like this (it was about 500$ more) and the pulp coming out wouldn’t really be great mixed back in since it’s completely dry. I think for just oranges a traditional ribbed juicer works just as well. One this style is really good for hard or leafy vegetables, or combinations.
One thing I'll say, is I love how you never edit out the blemishes - overflows, drops, learning as you go and not being embarrassed by it and just carrying on.
Also love the blaaaaahs and blblblblbls 😂
Thanks for your work, James! Keep it coming!
Awesome! I wish you reviewed the cleaning of it aswell, as I’m really interested in how simple or complicated it is to clean afterwards
does look like you could put a normal glass under the spout.
But it defeats the cup it comes with, doesn’t it?
Probably. But why didn't they provide larger cups? Those ones were like 1/2 cup
The entire comment on the apple-lemon-celery-carrot concoction being "bold flavor" is a bit of an understatement 😂
You could make a carrot cake with the carrot pulp...no waste!
I would think the other pulps from different items can be used in baking, like breads perhaps? I wanted him to do a cucumber. I use cucumber in smoothies.
it probably would not taste that good though ... that's just empty fiber
Looks like a great juicer. Thanks for the review!
this really was very oddly satisfying to watch
This review from James had me laughing all the way through. Those expressions from the bitter orange peel and lemon juice was hilarious. I agree, the cups should be twice the size of those provided. It seemed to do a decent job though. I like that it can be reversed to unclog it.
Usually when I see "top rated on Amazon" I assume it's going to be garbage. Glad to see some products at least earned their spot!
Bought an "Aobosi" masticating juicer on Amazon. Love it! Collection containers are quite large. They go in a straight line on front of machine.
I have a Jack LaLanne juicer a friend gave me years ago, and I've only used it a few times. But I think I'll get it out now and use it. It actually worked pretty good.
This kitchen is very nostalgic feeling for some reason! Keep making videos in here!
I’ve always liked the black cabinets!!!
Thanks for the review! I just bought it. I had a champion juicer my entire life. This looks so much better
Well, at age 75, and as long as I still have my own teeth, I think I’ll stick with chewing by simply eating the fruit whole, and save myself the trouble of having to clean up! Thanks for this review, James. I got a few good laughs watching it!
So as long as you substitute a large bowl or container for the juice collection cup, it's good to go. Thank you for this review.
I wouldn't even both with those containers. I'd want the juice to go right in my glass, so i'd stick my glass under the juice spout for sure.
Love this juicer! I usually do potato juice (don't knock it 'till you've tried it) and bake the rinds in the oven with a little salt, butter and pepper
I used to juice a long time ago as well. Then i read that its better to eat the fruit or veggies whole.
That was what I was thinking as well. I can understand using it if you needed to make drinks for a reason, but eating the fruit whole you are getting the juice and fibre.
Yeah but sometimes you want a nice glass of juice. Eating it is not the same.
If you want to drink it blend the whole fruit. So you still get the fiber.
It is! I do like making ginger juice shots though. It feels stupid to have a juicer JUST for that. But I just don't like juice in general other than the ginger shots.
The vitamins you need the most are in the rind of water melon and peel of oranges and lemon, limes. I wouldn't want to bite into anything like that. Juicing became popular because of those peels.
The collection cups feel like a last minute addition and that they belonged to another product, since how they flare up (widen) at the top indicates that they were supposed to slot into something.
The loose container just standing underneath the pulp and juice spouts is just a bit weird. To me it seems like a better idea to just put a glass directly under it or they should have just made it so you can attached the containers to the machine.
I have this juicer and I’ve used it almost every day for a month without issues. I don’t use those little collection containers. I use a measuring cup and I use a bowl to collect the pulp. Watermelon and grapes produce almost no pulp which is awesome. My major con is that you have to cut things small but beyond that I really like this juicer.
I really appreciate your reviews. Thank you for another great review. I already bought a juicer. May that one after the one I have died.
I love my ninja juicer, so glad to see you reviewing one of these. A few carrots and half a lime has just as much as a kick as a cup of black coffee in the morning!
Thanks for the tip. And a "pinch" of ginger maybe...?
which is better. this or ninja?
Very nice review. I am pretty impressed with it. I do agree the holders are small and slim.
OMG!!! I have that EXACT same Jack Lalane Juicer! Got it 2005, still going strong.
Lol i still remember those infomercials around that time!! I was always like who the heck is this old dude selling me some kind of smoothie machine it seems??😂🤣
I Love Freakin Reviews Videos 💗
Woot! A new freekin reviews. Gon be a good Saturday!
Thanks for the review. How about the quality of the plastic parts? Sturdy or frail impression?
Eating crushed apple seeds does create cyanide but the dose is really small. You would have to eat way more seeds than anyone would for it to be harmful.
The collection cups are definitely too small, I don't like how the pulp chute points straight out rather than down at an angle, and the juice chute could be a bit longer and more tapered so a narrow stream doesn't curl back up against the side of the machine, like it did at 12:05.
Awesome video 👏🏻 👍🏻
You should try juicing pears, they are the toughest thing to juice because it's hard to get all of the juice out of them. Would have also liked seeing things like grapes and cantaloupes juiced.
Now I want this juicer!
I’ll buy my juice at the grocery store! What I really don’t need is another electric something or other to find a spot for! Love your videos thoug!!!
In the long run, most would rather buy something to make room for on their counter than keep buying something they could have spent way less on at home. Plus, you know exactly what is being put in there and how much🤷♀️
Very entertaining video, I cannot stop laughing! 🤣🤣🤣 Thank you for sharing!
James you had way to much fun with this one🤣😂🤣
You should try a high end model juicer like the kuvings revo 830 or auto10
The Canoly looks good and works well with comfortable price point BUT the cups/containers are absolutely too small for the amount of juicing we do at one time. Thank you for reviewing.
Awesome video 👍
I have that juicer.. I think it's under a different name but it's the same thing. I just put a regular glass under, you can also put a jar under to catch the pulp and then another for the juice. I only use mine for ginger shots though.
It’s been awhile since I bought anything from your website, I’m back baybee
I have a similar juicer (omega vrt330) it’s more expensive but the build quality seems better and they have bigger collection cups.
I wish you would use a measuring cup when you review liquids. It's difficult to tell the size of your glass. Thanks for considering it
Sounds like you're crushing rocks.. 😂
The cleaning aspect is what I am most interested in. I want to know if it’s difficult to get every particle out of whatever filter or screen it has. I am concerned about tiny bits staying in the machine somewhere for sanitary purposes.
I would love to see you review the Nama j2 (the is the one I wanted for over a year) 😂
Ahh a machine to remove the most healthy part of the food ^.^ I would like it to be stronger than 300 watts though, Im not sure of the longevity with how hard the motor sounded like it was working.
Then you just put the pulp in a lasagna or something and you're getting everything anyway!
@@louisejj3797That doesn't reverse the blood sugar spike you get from the juice. You don't get that when you eat fruit whole.
It's a juicer, if you want the healthy part of the fruit then eat it whole
It's a juicer, if you want the whole fruit get a blender.
Healthier in what way? A person can survive on juice alone, while all the fiber in the world won't save you from starvation.
Wow! I kinda want this product. Looks pretty impressive. 👍🇺🇲
Oooh fresh orange carrot mango juice. Very tempting.😊
I am sure you could put a bigger glass where the juice and pulp comes out, as the juice/pulp is flowing at least 2 inches away from the unit, allow for a round glass.
or a larger 4 cup measuring cup
I can't help but wonder why you would want to throw away the pulp.
That seems like a very good, healthy part of the juice.
this was a great video as always, but I have some concerns about the apples, it looked like it had half already full of orange juice to start so the over flowing and pulp from it didn't seem like a fair judgement. And I will agree those weak sized containers for catching it are a total waste, throw the glass under there for an easier time and have the pump just dump out onto a chopping board with a paper towel on it for easier transfer to a compost bin.
You can literally put any 2 containers you want under the like a giant bowl and it would work you don’t HAVE to use those dishes.
Just Pulp Fiction James....great video as always 👍 Happy Saturday
Love my VitaMix!!!!
Pulp poop is oddly satisfying. and watching stuff overflow everywhere. Haha
🤣
Might want to consider showing how easy or difficult it is to clean.
I'm definitely a no pulp person but it's so easy to strain! Genuinely surprised with how little pulp there was in the juices themselves!
You should do a head to head comparison of this juicer to your old one!
the pulp shoot is sort of like the ejection tube for Brown 25 from Uranus corp from the "Groove Tube"
Apparently only us old guys remember that movie lol
A tomato would have been interesting
I forgot how much fun it is to put stuff in a juicer and watch the machine eat it!
So this is basically a meat grinder for fruits and vegetables! This video is actually making me wanna try one. I used to juice a LOT and the main problem was that not enough juice compared to the amount put in. But with this one, it seems you get a lot of juice for what you put in it! I was hoping you showed the cleaning process in the video though!
I'm a little bit of a juice snob myself even though it was a phase in the past. I think this unit you're reviewing is an amazing entry level juicer at that price! many great features.
"It's brutal" is my new phrase 😆
I would think that you could use the carrot pulp for carrot cakes.
Looks like it works well
Based on the beginning of this video, I am totally buying this.
I don’t own nor have interest in juicers. I don’t even buy enough produce to warrant watching this. But James uploaded so I gotta watch and comment! 😂
You I didn't try Ginger which I would be interested to see how it comes out you can also use the pulp if you wanted for soup are there other things you can do with it it depends on what you're planning to drink you could use tomatoes add in all kinds of vegetables like you just did and you can make your own V-8 juice... And the pulp you could use for other things including for soup, because believe it or not the pulp still has flavor in it.
I'm sticking with my 50 year old Champion Juicer that still works like a champ!
I'm curious if you can get more juice if you run the pulp through the machine a second time.
The Carrot and celery pulp goes really well with fried rice and meat stews.
Bitter taste aside, the main reason for removing peel would be because the peel of non-organic oranges absorb a lot of pesticides, leaving a lot of residuals. The juicer looks good though, nice review!
They did give more than enough room to put different containers underneath so that's nice. Still stupid about the tiny little collectors though.
I might of gotten this except for the cleanup
Fine for someone with a dishwasher. Hey, juices are healthy may be worth getting.
Please review the Granitestone Piezano pizza oven/cooker.
I've never tried a juicer of any kind. I do like the original V8 juice but I kinda stay away from it because of all the extra additives. I wonder what type of juicer would be best for that?
I would strain through juice into a bowl with a cheese cloth. Or a strainer w really small holes.
6:55 8:13 Sounded like a horror vacuum cleaner hitting this place. It is pretty brutal sounding though.
I must say I would definitely own that juicer at any time I can make juices besides buying the juices from the grocery store which have chemicals in them.
I hate to break it to you and I mean no offense, but any juice from any fruit, no matter how you choose to juice will ALWAYS have "chemicals" in it. Because water is a "chemical". Contrary to popular belief...Chemicals aren't "bad" or "harmful", it's all about what they are, how they work, and how much you are actually ingesting. You can die from water poisoning, does that mean you should never drink any water ever again..? No, no one in their right mind would think so.
It always blows my mind whenever I'm reminded just how prevalent the whole "all-natural is healthier and safer" mentality is...All natural doesn't mean anything really, and whether or not something is "natural" or not, doesn't necessarily make it safer or healthier, in any way shape or form. It's all just a pseudo-science buzz word, mainly used as marketing tactic to get people to buy something or just feel better about buying something that costs more.
(For example, a lot of people wouldn't think twice about paying $1 more on a can of "all-natural" vegetables because they feel they are making an healthier choice, even though more than likely it's exactly the same as a cheaper can of vegetables. )
@@Aevilbeast Huh. I guess you're right about that. Because all I know about something about chemicals around us with liquid in fruits or other stuff is that it's all in America, and that's where it has gotta start. 🤔
Next: An hour video on cleaning it.
My first job ever was at a Jamba Juice and we used the centrifugal style of juicers. This kind... just seems kinda odd to me 😂but of course commercial kitchen equipment would never compare to an Amazon product!
How come people never try tomatoes?
That’s actually a really great idea. I’m going to give it a go
Now I know not to leave the peeling on my fruit when I juice. 😂 Seriously though, I purchased an Omega Cold Press 365 several years ago from Amazon for $150. One of the best investments I’ve made thus far. Great video James.
I am super curious about something. Use the juicer, then toss the pulp in a pot to make vegetable broth, then take whatever is leftover to a compost. I'm curious if that would be a feasible usage of this product. Getting three times the value out of one product.
I'd just go to the nearest "DOLLAR" type stores and buy some really big ( like 6 cup ) cheap plastic measuring cups. Because they are round (usually) they will sit close enough to catch all drips of juice, when it's dribbling and yet big enough to catch every drop when you get that initial gush from opening the spout on a full load in the juicer. Likewise with the pulp. I love the masticating juicers compared to the shred and spin type, they get so much more out of ANYTHING you want to masticate!
the spill is all your fault not the machine!
I’ve actually been looking at juicers & nut milk makers. I’m leaning towards the Nama J2 because it can both juice & make nut milk but I have been wondering how cheaper options would be. This is good for what it is but if you are going to batch juice I don’t think this will work. I wouldn’t ask you to spend over $500 on a juicer but i do think it would be an interesting comparison because the Nama & this juicer are similar in their functions.
And how well does it clean?
I bought a Breville juicer back over TEN YEARS AGO (I just checked my Amazon account!...2013!...can't believe it was that long ago!) and that bad boy STILL works. They don't make 'em like they used to? lol
I got this juicer as my recent birthday present. Although I did get the juice & easy clean up, it clogged up a lot. I mean to the point where I had to literally pull the parts of the machine apart. I admit, part of the clog was that (like this guy) I put 3 items in (an apple, orange & a stalk of celery). But fast forward, it still clogs even after putting only 2 items in - especially celery!😩 I also find it easier to use my (2cup) measuring cup or large mugs to catch the juice & pulp. Overall, I doubt I will use this juicer much because it’s too much of a chore.🤷🏼♀️
Wow i want it for the pulp for cooking!!!
