yeah so this was a rehearsal for their elyxion dot concerts in the summer of 2018. i'm not sure if you know much about how sm concerts work? you seem to know a lot already so I am sorry if this is old news. but basically they tend to start in seoul, tour around the world and then come back to seoul for encore concerts called 'dot' concerts (as in a period at the end of a sentence). the dot concerts tend to feature special performances that weren't in the original setlist. ICU was his elyxion tour solo performance, but it was a shortened version and the dot concerts got the full song version. these dot concerts were actually the first time he wore crop tops haha. i honestly think he started wearing them because fans were always drawing him in them and as you said, he's always very good at fan service. just like when he put the rose in his mouth for that now infamous love shot solo performance at one of the gayos because a fan had asked him to dance with a rose in his mouth lol. the lyrics to the part you mentioned being a moment were 날 찾아줘 (지금 바로) 날 꺼내줘 (지금) which means 'find me (right now), get me out (now)'. which reminded me about how this piece was designed to fit in with the concert storyline which is also part of exo's over all storyline. basically they've all been split apart by this point and are trying to find each other. i find his technique so interesting. the way he always barely pliés before his tours and sometimes doesn't even spot or spots so his eye line is super low down and yet he never falls over is amazing to me. he'll over or under rotate too and yet make it look like it was intentional every time. i don't think anyone would be able to copy his technique because it's obviously something he's developed himself as he moved away from ballet as a teenager and i guess it's what's the most comfortable for him. i think his constant neck and back injuries and stuff have probably also led to some adaptations, whether intentional or otherwise. this is super long i'm sorry. the only other thing i wanted to say is that i really enjoy your choice of words when describing things, such as 'milky' or 'feathery'. they're always really apt in a way that kind of makes me laugh and go like 'oh that's exactly it'. you might have seen this already, but if not i think exo's ooh la la la dance practice is a fun group one to react to if you need more suggestions. same with kai's spoiler dance practice, which is also on jaewon's youtube channel.
Kai amazes me with every performance, but this one literally gives me chills every single time. The fluidity of his movements, the intensity in his expressions, the flawless execution and fusion of styles... I can't compare him to anyone, because there's no one like him. His years of jazz and ballet training definitely come through here and I love it.

The first time I saw this stage I had to watch it so many times because I felt like I would always miss something, his stages are always so filled with little details that one time it’s not enough! I really like the way you dissect the whole piece and point stuff I might’ve missed, hope you can react to Door (from the SuperM performance video) as I’m really curious about what you may think about it! I wonder how much his build informs how he dances? He’s very slender, even though he’s muscular. (He’s 6’ and I think he said he’s usually 65-67 kg but got to 64 for the solo.) He looks elegant as well as powerful.
Before Kai's solo album, he has done several solo performances on stage singing and dancing and without bias all of them were stunning, brave and unforgetable specially because there are very few in the kpop industry who have done it to this level. There is just many layers to Kai the performer while Kai/jongin is an open book

I really enjoy your reactions/reviews of Kai's dance performances! You really go into a lot of detail and share what you find odd or amazing about what you are seeing. I also like that even when he does something that doesn't make sense to you, you are respectful about how you approach it. You don't have to love everything he does (that can get boring), but I don't enjoy it when people say "I don't like that" or whatever.

He's sexy of course but what I like the most about when he shows skin or wears tight clothes in his performances is that I feel like it helps showing his dancing lines and it's beautiful
