Ever since he was a kid he was so worried about himself, now that he’s a teen he’s been so focused on everyone that he never thought about his own thoughts and feelings.
I'm not a big fan of Steven Universe anymore, including Steven Universe Future, but I'm glad they added his PTSD and his trauma. It was interesting to see the effects of all he's been through and his arc throughout the series, as well as including these issues in a modern kids show. The show is dead to me now, but I think I'll always appreciate this about Future.

I think it's kinda sad that most people didn't notice Steven's mind state. He still has a few problems to solve, but now other problems from his mother are coming back again. My favorite part in SUF so far is when Steven snaps, because it clearly shows how he is mentally breaking and becoming something that no one wants him to be. He wants to become the hero everyone wants him to be so badly that he doesn't want to take care of himself and concern others. He doesn't want to show 'em how mentally weak he is now. None of the gems tried talking to him or ask if he is fine, but even if they did, he would answer "Everything is fine", since he doesn't want to be weak in front of the gems and, no one would understand him. No one would understand how it feels to be the hero that must be flawless, the one who has to fix things that are not his problems and how they impact in his life. How everyone looks upon him. But it looks like everyone thinks "He's strong, he will be fine!". It pisses me off. Everyone acts like Steven never needs help. He needs someone to spill out everything and ease the burden he carries. If the "Corruption Theory" is true, I think Steven will have to fuse with a corrupted gen, since they didn't catch all of 'em, and end up corrupted. But he won't be able to heal himself because, deep inside, he is tired. It will be just like Volleyball, a psychological wound. And because of that, he will slowly become aggressive towards others and they'll notice something is off. Once the corruption signs appear, he will probably run away from everyone and be alone. He is tired if being the hero and having to concern everyone. He wants to finally have a rest. And that's why the cinnamon roll needs therapy.
I don’t actually think he would have to fuse with a corrupted gem though like taking that theory and knowing Rebecca sugar he’d probably corrupt from stress and depression after keeping everything pent up and he explodes maybe cause he’s a teen and a gem so maybe he hurt someone he cares about when he blows up and the guilt weighs down on him so much that he breaks and corrupts without realizing it cause no one knew that corruption from depression was a thing and he doesn’t tell anyone even after he realizes cause like it’s Steven and no one notices until it’s to late and he’s to far gone to heal

Insane Bella I doubt it’s corruption and more like his mental state/what he thinks of himself. There have been instances where gems have said that they can become so excited that they can poof, or it’s implied. I mean thats what happened with Spinel, she was so heart broken that Pink left her that she poofed and gained the design she has right now, repersenting her mental state; crying, darker, insaine was what she felt. And because he is a teenager, he is able to feel all of those emotions more strongly. So what if a half human gem is unable to poof and keep all of that pent of emotion inside? Will his gem part of him poof? And evolve into an embodiment of his mental image? But there is another side to my theory: the Lizard isnt Steven. Because knowing the crewniverse, out theories are never right unless they are in our faces
Headcanon: Steven's angry outbursts caused him to hurt others leading to Steven seeing himself as some corrupted fusion of himself and his mother. Regretting the loss of his former self he decides to end Pink Diamond/Rose Quartz once and for all. Connie refuses to help him as it would mean Steven would be destroyed as well.

Anyone scared that Steven is going to eventually lash out and hurt Connie or Pearl with his new destructive powers and isolate himself from his friends and family or is that just me? any1 coming back to this from 2022, just to cry? :,) seeing this as steven just hits different. Mostly because of the stress, trauma and the adhd (i think). And the voice of zach just makes it fit in with steven's 16 yr old character. After having maybe a panic or anxiety attack from the newer episodes ( well from the newer updates i found.). The worry in zach's voice, the animated expressions, and the small voice cracks make it more pure and more emotional. It really shows how lost he became. He lost control and didn't know what to do anymore. He needed a person who can fully understand and know how he feels. Since he's been placing himself aside, this shows how much trauma started to pile up. Everytime he tries to help someone, he prpbably feels more broken since nobody could be there properly for him like he is for others. What he's missing is a person he can trust like the figure people see when he's helping them. The trauma started to pile up as he broke and broke and broke until he was on his knees, losing sight of his control. It really shows how the problems he solved about the gems, diamonds, and relationships he had to fix. His voice sounds so emotional that adds so much more. Even the animation/animatic expressions are so well done that, there i say it; a masterpiece. Even though it is from 2yrs ago, it is still such a masterpiece. Bravo and Great work for the singers and animator who made this video possible. Keep it up! And stay safe
What terrifies me the most about this is that it's just Steven. Look at him, listen to him, listen to how he words the things he says, to how his voice cracks here and there. He isn't glowing pink, he doesn't have diamond eyes, he isn't being controlled, no one is influencing negative emotions in him, it's just Steven. The PTSD, the trauma, the hate for his mother's actions and even more that she left him to fix it all, his own self hate and self doubt, his passive and people pleaser nature, all in one mind and body. Steven is a character who bases a lot of what he does on morals and helping others before himself, because to him, that's what he's supposed to do. This, seeing this, seeing him lash out at Connie, someone who tries her best more than most others to understand what he's going through, hearing seeing him smile at the very end as he CHOOSES to fight over everything. When a hero, someone who puts others before himself and chooses to handle things with violence only when violence is needed, chooses to go along with it, you know they have truly lost sight of themselves. This is not the breakdown of a man, this is the downfall of a hero.
cant really blame him tho its understandable not saying that makes it a good thing. but all the shit his been threw and that no one is really trying to help him even tho he has shown his anger and sadness to the gems and that thay still think he is at the lest fine. again yes its steven's fault for holding his emotions. but you got to take into account that its hard for people that gone threw some really dark crap to just openly let it all out without snaping or just letting it out as a whole without getting the help he needs. Canakyu the story of the original song was that Zach broke up with this girl named Juanita, but he believes that doing so killed a happier version of himself, part of him died, frustrated, he goes talk to his friend and start blaming her for pushing him into braking up with Juanita, and says he’s taking revenge on Juanita since in his eyes, she still won this situation
It’s honestly crazy what this boy goes through. He has to keep the gems in line, sort of. In the past, he almost got his life taken by White. All because of Pink. If she would of told the others she was going to have steven, instead of keeping it secret, maybe some of the conflicts wouldn’t have happened then. And I know she did this because the others left her out, that still doesn’t give you the will to leave all your problems on a 17 year old boy.

I heard this song months ago, seeing this I thought “Huh... that does sound like Steven...” then I looked up the name, and I am now freaking out, and I’d go nuts to see more of these for the other songs on that album.
I think Steven might have anger issues now… because when he was younger he would keep things that are upsetting to himself (I.e. when he was in roses room.) and help the other gems first, so now that he’s 16 hormones aren’t helping him, and as a teen, keeping things to himself keeps leading him to explode (like we have seen) And since he’s half gem, when he explodes, he EXPLODES! Eventually, he’ll turn into that big monster. (btw, if you look closely the face is like Steven, and if you look even closer, it has arms. Sneaple debunked.) Currently, I’m resonating with Steven like never before, because this is literally what I am currently going through right now (pray for everyone around me, poor things...) and the fact he’s 16 with mommy issues haha, too close to home, like aha, *F U C K* !
Childhood trauma can do that to you. The kids who have been quiet and nice turn explosive in their teenage years not just because of hormones but because of bad coping mechanisms like keeping things to themself and bottling it up. I hope actually we have a heart to heart with Steven and Connie in SUF and he comes to his senses that he needs to vent to her. Probably at the end of the series of the series of something.
I think he is going down that path but jasper is gonna help him even though she doesn’t it yet because she was the first one to see it. There is gonna be a time when he explodes and no one will be able to stop him and the only way to help will be his friends all coming together. At least that’s what I think is going to happen

I think Zach Callison created this to express the different stages of Steven. The girl they are talking about, the one haunting Steven, is like his mom, and how he has to fight to be like her, even though he hates being brought up to the standards of his mom, he wants to be Steven universe. Not Pink Diamond or Rose Quarts. He wants to save the universe, not destroy the whole galaxy trying to fix the mistakes his mom has made. 2 episodes before Ruby proposes to Sapphire, Amethyst tells Steven to relax and that he shouldn’t have to help look for ruby when she ran away, because he needed a break. She hated that Steven had to act like a adult when he was a young teenager. She is upset that Steven is busy worrying about other people’s problems and not hanging out and doing kid things. Fast forward to Steven Universe the movie, we find out that Steven had to realize he wasn’t his mom in order for him to use his powers to his full extent. Showing that he has to stop worrying about being up to everybody’s standards. STEVEN UNIVERSE FUTURE SPOILERS COMING UP!!! Now we fast forward to Steven Universe future, which I’m gonna call SUF for now. In all the SUF episodes so far (1-10) we see a small timeline of Steven growing. In episode one he fights Jasper and unlocks a new level of his power, but is it really a power or is it an emotion. He feels mad that Jasper had put him up to those standards, that he was exactly like “his mom” and we know that that angered him, making him go what some people call corrupt or just overwhelmed. In episode 9, we see that Steven doesn’t want to let his friends go, he already has grown up and the people he met during his life in Beach city. On top of that, he thought Sadie and Lars were gonna be a couple and he was mad that Sadie found a new girl friend. On top of that, The band split up and Steven looked up to them. But, Steven kept all these emotions inside until Sadie’s Girl friend pointed it out that it could be Steven. This shows how he hid his emotions because while he didn’t like it, he felt like he was still being compared to his mom. Now, let’s talk about episode 10, our somewhat Cliff hanger for SUF (for now.) Steven quit teaching at little homeschool to think and take a break for his mental health. To cope, he plants, or tends to plants. Along the way, Steven accidentally turns a cactus to real life. At first, the cactus is fine until it starts reciting things Steven had said. Including how he felt he was being treated like a kid and how he couldn’t go to anybody for help. In the end, the truth comes out, and We’re left on a cliff hanger of SUF. in the end, I think that this new form (all pink Steven) isn’t a new level of power, it’s an emotion of intense overwhelming and anger caused by his inner thoughts, pain and emotion in general. Steven is no longer the lovable goof who thought his powers came from ice cream. A lifetime under his mother's shadow and acting as everyone's therapist has left him unable to suffer his own burdens.
Ever since he was a kid he was so worried about himself, now that he’s a teen he’s been so focused on everyone that he never thought about his own thoughts and feelings.
I'm not a big fan of Steven Universe anymore, including Steven Universe Future, but I'm glad they added his PTSD and his trauma. It was interesting to see the effects of all he's been through and his arc throughout the series, as well as including these issues in a modern kids show. The show is dead to me now, but I think I'll always appreciate this about Future.

I think it's kinda sad that most people didn't notice Steven's mind state. He still has a few problems to solve, but now other problems from his mother are coming back again. My favorite part in SUF so far is when Steven snaps, because it clearly shows how he is mentally breaking and becoming something that no one wants him to be. He wants to become the hero everyone wants him to be so badly that he doesn't want to take care of himself and concern others. He doesn't want to show 'em how mentally weak he is now. None of the gems tried talking to him or ask if he is fine, but even if they did, he would answer "Everything is fine", since he doesn't want to be weak in front of the gems and, no one would understand him. No one would understand how it feels to be the hero that must be flawless, the one who has to fix things that are not his problems and how they impact in his life. How everyone looks upon him. But it looks like everyone thinks "He's strong, he will be fine!". It pisses me off. Everyone acts like Steven never needs help. He needs someone to spill out everything and ease the burden he carries.
If the "Corruption Theory" is true, I think Steven will have to fuse with a corrupted gen, since they didn't catch all of 'em, and end up corrupted. But he won't be able to heal himself because, deep inside, he is tired. It will be just like Volleyball, a psychological wound. And because of that, he will slowly become aggressive towards others and they'll notice something is off. Once the corruption signs appear, he will probably run away from everyone and be alone. He is tired if being the hero and having to concern everyone. He wants to finally have a rest.
And that's why the cinnamon roll needs therapy.
I don’t actually think he would have to fuse with a corrupted gem though like taking that theory and knowing Rebecca sugar he’d probably corrupt from stress and depression after keeping everything pent up and he explodes maybe cause he’s a teen and a gem so maybe he hurt someone he cares about when he blows up and the guilt weighs down on him so much that he breaks and corrupts without realizing it cause no one knew that corruption from depression was a thing and he doesn’t tell anyone even after he realizes cause like it’s Steven and no one notices until it’s to late and he’s to far gone to heal

Insane Bella I doubt it’s corruption and more like his mental state/what he thinks of himself. There have been instances where gems have said that they can become so excited that they can poof, or it’s implied. I mean thats what happened with Spinel, she was so heart broken that Pink left her that she poofed and gained the design she has right now, repersenting her mental state; crying, darker, insaine was what she felt.
And because he is a teenager, he is able to feel all of those emotions more strongly. So what if a half human gem is unable to poof and keep all of that pent of emotion inside? Will his gem part of him poof? And evolve into an embodiment of his mental image?
But there is another side to my theory: the Lizard isnt Steven. Because knowing the crewniverse, out theories are never right unless they are in our faces

She proceeds to effect his life even after their eventual break-off, and after years of torment from her, he decides enough is enough and lashes out- going out in Hollywood to beat her at her own game. any1 coming back to this from 2022, just to cry? :,)
seeing this as steven just hits different. Mostly because of the stress, trauma and the adhd (i think). And the voice of zach just makes it fit in with steven's 16 yr old character. After having maybe a panic or anxiety attack from the newer episodes ( well from the newer updates i found.).
The worry in zach's voice, the animated expressions, and the small voice cracks make it more pure and more emotional. It really shows how lost he became. He lost control and didn't know what to do anymore. He needed a person who can fully understand and know how he feels.
Since he's been placing himself aside, this shows how much trauma started to pile up. Everytime he tries to help someone, he prpbably feels more broken since nobody could be there properly for him like he is for others. What he's missing is a person he can trust like the figure people see when he's helping them.
The trauma started to pile up as he broke and broke and broke until he was on his knees, losing sight of his control. It really shows how the problems he solved about the gems, diamonds, and relationships he had to fix.
His voice sounds so emotional that adds so much more. Even the animation/animatic expressions are so well done that, there i say it; a masterpiece.
Even though it is from 2yrs ago, it is still such a masterpiece.
Bravo and Great work for the singers and animator who made this video possible.

What terrifies me the most about this is that it's just Steven.
Look at him, listen to him, listen to how he words the things he says, to how his voice cracks here and there. He isn't glowing pink, he doesn't have diamond eyes, he isn't being controlled, no one is influencing negative emotions in him, it's just Steven.
The PTSD, the trauma, the hate for his mother's actions and even more that she left him to fix it all, his own self hate and self doubt, his passive and people pleaser nature, all in one mind and body. Steven is a character who bases a lot of what he does on morals and helping others before himself, because to him, that's what he's supposed to do. This, seeing this, seeing him lash out at Connie, someone who tries her best more than most others to understand what he's going through, hearing seeing him smile at the very end as he CHOOSES to fight over everything. When a hero, someone who puts others before himself and chooses to handle things with violence only when violence is needed, chooses to go along with it, you know they have truly lost sight of themselves.
This is not the breakdown of a man, this is the downfall of a hero.
This just broke my heart.

The dead boy is Zach himself but his innocent version of himself before Juanita broke his heart and Christy is his current girlfriend but she is no good she take advantage of Zach and puts him down in the part where Christy says "I saved him I held him till the moment he died" that's her encouraging Zach doing drugs gambling and sleeping around when Zach said "you chocked him out of his own goddamn mind promised the world to him a goddamn lie" its him realizing what Christy is doing and everything she promised was all a lie to have him under her thumb when Christy says "I wont help you take her down" it means that she won't help him move on from Juanita by being a good girlfriend and help Zach with his problems when Zach says "fine I'll do it by myself" it's him breaking up with her and going to try to improve himself without her when Christy says "you don't need it" its her trying to convince Zach that he doesnt need any help or improving when Zach says "oh I know that i need it" its him going to go get help and try to improve himself and get rid of the lifestyle he has when Christy says "she's been gone for years I know you can beat it" its her still trying to convince Zach that he's ok the way he is and Juanita doesn't matter when Zach says "No look in the mirror we both fear her we are one in the same were afraid to go near her we utter her name with our spirits defeated you let me kill him your worst the juanita" Zach is saying how he still misses Juanita but knows he cant go back to her and him realizing Christy did more terrible things then Juanita did Christy is most likely the reason why Zach is destroying himself

Canakyu the story of the original song was that Zach broke up with this girl named Juanita, but he believes that doing so killed a happier version of himself, part of him died, frustrated, he goes talk to his friend and start blaming her for pushing him into braking up with Juanita, and says he’s taking revenge on Juanita since in his eyes, she still won this situation

It’s honestly crazy what this boy goes through. He has to keep the gems in line, sort of. In the past, he almost got his life taken by White. All because of Pink. If she would of told the others she was going to have steven, instead of keeping it secret, maybe some of the conflicts wouldn’t have happened then. And I know she did this because the others left her out, that still doesn’t give you the will to leave all your problems on a 17 year old boy.
As much as I love this song to be visualized in an animatic, I hope everyone understands that the original album is about Zach's mental health and is in no way (and probably shouldn't be) associated to Steven Universe.
In the end when he says:

It sounded like he broke the fourth wall. As if the show going to start soon and he want to tell you don’t misses it.

I heard this song months ago, seeing this I thought “Huh... that does sound like Steven...” then I looked up the name, and I am now freaking out, and I’d go nuts to see more of these for the other songs on that album.

I think Steven might have anger issues now… because when he was younger he would keep things that are upsetting to himself (I.e. when he was in roses room.) and help the other gems first, so now that he’s 16 hormones aren’t helping him, and as a teen, keeping things to himself keeps leading him to explode (like we have seen) And since he’s half gem, when he explodes, he EXPLODES! Eventually, he’ll turn into that big monster. (btw, if you look closely the face is like Steven, and if you look even closer, it has arms. Sneaple debunked.)
Currently, I’m resonating with Steven like never before, because this is literally what I am currently going through right now (pray for everyone around me, poor things...) and the fact he’s 16 with mommy issues haha, too close to home, like aha, *F U C K* !

Childhood trauma can do that to you. The kids who have been quiet and nice turn explosive in their teenage years not just because of hormones but because of bad coping mechanisms like keeping things to themself and bottling it up. I hope actually we have a heart to heart with Steven and Connie in SUF and he comes to his senses that he needs to vent to her. Probably at the end of the series of the series of something.
I think he is going down that path but jasper is gonna help him even though she doesn’t it yet because she was the first one to see it. There is gonna be a time when he explodes and no one will be able to stop him and the only way to help will be his friends all coming together. At least that’s what I think is going to happen

I think Zach Callison created this to express the different stages of Steven. The girl they are talking about, the one haunting Steven, is like his mom, and how he has to fight to be like her, even though he hates being brought up to the standards of his mom, he wants to be Steven universe. Not Pink Diamond or Rose Quarts. He wants to save the universe, not destroy the whole galaxy trying to fix the mistakes his mom has made. 2 episodes before Ruby proposes to Sapphire, Amethyst tells Steven to relax and that he shouldn’t have to help look for ruby when she ran away, because he needed a break. She hated that Steven had to act like a adult when he was a young teenager. She is upset that Steven is busy worrying about other people’s problems and not hanging out and doing kid things. Fast forward to Steven Universe the movie, we find out that Steven had to realize he wasn’t his mom in order for him to use his powers to his full extent. Showing that he has to stop worrying about being up to everybody’s standards. STEVEN UNIVERSE FUTURE SPOILERS COMING UP!!! Now we fast forward to Steven Universe future, which I’m gonna call SUF for now. In all the SUF episodes so far (1-10) we see a small timeline of Steven growing. In episode one he fights Jasper and unlocks a new level of his power, but is it really a power or is it an emotion. He feels mad that Jasper had put him up to those standards, that he was exactly like “his mom” and we know that that angered him, making him go what some people call corrupt or just overwhelmed. In episode 9, we see that Steven doesn’t want to let his friends go, he already has grown up and the people he met during his life in Beach city. On top of that, he thought Sadie and Lars were gonna be a couple and he was mad that Sadie found a new girl friend. On top of that, The band split up and Steven looked up to them. But, Steven kept all these emotions inside until Sadie’s Girl friend pointed it out that it could be Steven. This shows how he hid his emotions because while he didn’t like it, he felt like he was still being compared to his mom. Now, let’s talk about episode 10, our somewhat Cliff hanger for SUF (for now.) Steven quit teaching at little homeschool to think and take a break for his mental health. To cope, he plants, or tends to plants. Along the way, Steven accidentally turns a cactus to real life. At first, the cactus is fine until it starts reciting things Steven had said. Including how he felt he was being treated like a kid and how he couldn’t go to anybody for help. In the end, the truth comes out, and We’re left on a cliff hanger of SUF. in the end, I think that this new form (all pink Steven) isn’t a new level of power, it’s an emotion of intense overwhelming and anger caused by his inner thoughts, pain and emotion in general. Not gonna lie, mature/serious connie is something I never thought I needed.
I just realized he meant his younger self when he was saying a boy was killed. Basically saying that Connie misled him his whole childhood, and Jaunita was his mom (Pink/Rose). And of course the fact that he has her gem, and the fact he has trauma related to what she did in the past, her past actions ‘holding power’ over him and Connie.
