Good job
I'm happy to see that this channel is bringing out new GIMP content and may I say it has that same professional look and feel like all those big photoshop, after effects, etc,... video tutorials which is super refreshing. You've earned yourself a subscriber. Thank you for sharing your creativity with us!
I used to watch lettering posts and always thought it was really hard to do, thank you so much for giving such perfect breakdown of all the steps.
Those keyboard button press sounds are so satisfying.
+Daniyal Azram I got a mechanical keyboard recently, love how it sounds and feels
I think I am going to buy one myself too.
I got my completely opposite opinion here
Nick, seriously thanks.
I've been looking for a way to manipulate a gradient along a curve in gimp.
This helps a TON.
Ive been binge watching your tutorials all day
Just found your channel, 3 videos and I've learnt so much! Easy to follow and well explained! Cheers man!
Hey Nick. I love your intro song. Thats the reason why Im messaging. Ive had this video open for three days and every now and then I just restart the intro to listen.
Anyways - good video. Straight and to the point and you dont fumble your words. Youre good.
Been following your tutorials for a week or so now, and can't express how much they are appreciated! Keep 'em coming, bud. Side note: gonna be in Philly in a few weeks for the first time. Got any must-see, must-do recommendations? Thanks in advance! Would love to buy you a beer to thank you for all the help and advancement you have provided.
Awesome, I'd recommend checking out the Blue Cross RiverRink on the Delaware river, then walking down to Spruce Street Harbor Park (maybe a 5 minute walk if that.) Really nice this time of year.
This really blew my mind. Thanks a lot for these amazing videos!!!
At my school (french school) Were working on a lot of project, and we watch your videos in my classroom and I love them! :)

Nice intro and your videos have helped me get started in Gimp. After 15 years of Corel suite, this is different and..free!
The tip on aligning opposite bezier handles is a good one. Thanks
If you want to learn more about how GIMP works, I have a 60+ part video series where I explain all of the tools and features in GIMP and demonstrate how they work. Here's the link if interested: logosbynick.com/gimp/
Thanks Nick for all you do!
This design is awesome, thanks a lot!
Thanks, have followed step by step and it is an interesting tutorial.
Hey Nick, in the bottom right corner the spacing is set to 0, instead of the default 20. You forgot to note that you have to set the spacing to 1 or the whole thing doesn't work.
Damn I forgot. Thanks for mentioning that. Pinning this comment.
you just saved my life
Hi Jimmy , after having seen your comment, I noticed that my spacing (espacement in french) was set to 20, and it works ! (sorry for my bad english )
Sorry Jimmy : you're right . It works, but with slight ripples !
THANK YOU SO MUCHHH!
Awesome just what i NEEDED man! THanks!
New favorite channel!
My apology re-watch the video and I saw some mistakes that I made so I redid it and now it looks awesome thank you a lot your videos are very helpful I saw two of your videos and done two projects, I can feel that I'm getting closer to become a graphic designer
to be honest with guys, Nick is the mastermind Graphics in this era. Nick you are the best and thanks alot for the good work. you have all of my respect.
Thanks Norpy, quite the compliment.
thats mega cool just few steps away and done. piece of cake
Hey Nick great video - but once you got to the clipboard brush you can definitely try stroke selection on the letters to get a double 3D word
Good tutorial thanks Nick, love the videos. I could not figure out how to get rid of the ripple on the brush , so instead of using the gradient brush I just used a normal brush with black lol. Stroked to path and the letters looked good in plain black so went with it. Making these letters to use in Imovie , when I rotate the video in imovie unfortunately it does not rotate titles.
hello thanks for this video you are the only one on youtube who knows how to use the gimp program professionally, I write this from the translator I'm from Argentina greetings
You make GIMP look like a child's game, bro! TY!
Thank you! It's amazing!:)
Hi Nick. Thanks for Tutorial. It's really helpful for me as a t-shirt art designer. Hopefully, you create more gimp tutorial about coloring object like multiple color of dropped ink. Thanks
This is really good man.
Thank you so much, it helped me a lot.
Bro that looks awsome !

I tried this with a red and pink for a logo saying retro gaming and it looks amazing so thanks man
Great work! I love GIMP ! :)

Love this! But I can't seem to get it to work with 2.10. Love to have you put up a video showing how to do this effect in GIMP 2.10!
Cool effect. Thanks a lot!

Thanks for the tutorial, greetings from Argentina
Wow! It works! The first time i tried it took forever to activate and when I disabled my antivirus it worked like in less than a minute! Thanks bro!
Hi Nick, I love your videos keep up the amazing work. Do you have a video on how you make your thumbnails?
Now I feel inspired to mess about with custom brushes and the path tool a bit more!
And perhaps even Inkscape?
Thank you!
but no one asked
Awesome tip!
Thanks man ⭐️
So cool! Thanks!
This is way more work than I hoped.
Just bought your book, can you show how to upload the learning curve pro fonts to gimp as its not showing on my font list yet. Great stuff bro
Wait... is that music I hear in the background? LOL.... That is new. ;P
Great job Nick! I plan on using this fr my mod changes for fonv for wall graffiti so thank you!
Yes, always trying to improve the quality of my videos
Personally... I dont think you need to improve them... I learn so much already.
Well other than you need to put out alot more....LOL! Like 5 a day more LOL! ;) ;P
Really enjoying and learning from all your videos. Have you done something of reducing image sizes for websites with Gimp?
8:73 that felt so good when I saw the exact same results
um you need some creativity and not duplicate something.
Dear Nick, all your tutorials are excellent, easy to folllow and usefull. Thank you so much, I love you. ♥
That's neat
Thank you so much 😎💪
Thank you so much for the video, Nick! I'm leraning so much already. I'd also love to know: What is the name of the song you used at the background?

I really enjoy your video I tried doing the same exact logo and when I try to add color to it just as you did and this video it wouldn't go through so do I need to change because you got the 2.8 version but I got the 2.10 version do you have any advice to give me.
Your work and tarining is fantastic.
Please tell us how to import vectors from inkscape like smart objects.
GIMP import paths but without color filling.
YOU THA MAAANNNN!!!! YESH!
Can someone please explain how to get the font from the link??
Hi nick,
I wanna ask you, can't we do an "alpha to selection" to the text layer then we stroke the selection from "Edit"?
hope you answer, thanks
Good job🎉
Awesome video! My clipboard has completely disappeared! Anyone know how to bring it back up so I can select the gradient paint brush?
very cool look
u just earnt urself a new sub
Thanks, welcome aboard
Mixer Agreed. I subscribed too.
One important error that can occur in this workflow: *dark lines along the path!*
If you are suffering dark pixels running along the draw-path, I just figured out why. The default pixel color is RGBA 0000, meaning by generating your gradient inside a circle-selection, you only color the inside solidly pink but on the pixels around the outside GIMP blends the gradient towards black while also phasing into transparency. When you select from alpha-channel it could leave dark streaks with those black-blended pixels.
To correct this, generate the gradient over the desired height of the final brush-cross section *on the whole layer* to color all adjacent pixels through with pink as well, then select an ellipse across the gradient for your brush, invert the selection [by default Ctrl+I] and erase the rest of the layer again [by default DEL]. Copy the brush to the clipboard again [by default Ctrl+C] and remember to reduce the distance in the Brush-Settings to 1. Finally redraw along the path without streaks.
Oh, and also if your gradient spreads from a limited selection to the whole layer the moment you deselect, it's because the gradient tool was updated. It now retains the positions of the coloring-anchors and allows the user to modify their position until the gradient command is applied with RETURN. If intermediately you eliminate the selection, the tool stays active and spreads the gradient across the whole layer. Not that it matters because as stated you're better off coloring the entire layer and erasing from an inverted selection to suppress streaks.
Sweet!
Thank you thank you
Thanks
Müthiş. Harika. Ellerine sağlık.👍🇹🇷
thank you/senpai
Nice text Effects
I followed the instructions but when I click stroke path, the paint appears but some of it has a grey pixel aura around and on the pink instead of looking smooth. Have I done something wrong or is there a way to fix it?
Dope!
Nice video man, do you know how to take out the two sides because when I open gimp it don't show the part that show the tools and layers if you can help thank
3:20 At that point, when I just let go, the line going through the circle remained. Eventually, I figured out that I also needed to hit [Enter]. Maybe that's because I'm using GIMP 2.10. Not sure.
i cant get my color to show up in this part
im a bit late lol, but check ur opacity
3:19 When I try to do this part, when I release the mouse bottom, nothing happens and some green thing flashes in the middle of my screen
so cool....
Just getting into graphics, but I didn't see a comment on this, but is it possible to have the text automatically create the path? Nice tutorials btw! Thank you..
To centre the text use the Alignment tool.
i like this idea hopefully i can design handwriting ketchup using this technique
My like is number 5000 :)
you should do a tutorial of how to path cursive letters
Can it be done with Inkscape? It'd be nice to see how same effect to be done different tools.
Can such effect be done with Inkscape? It'd be nice to see how same effect to be done different tools.
when i click enter on the 3.42 it creates new layer called transformation what should i do?
Could you do a interlocking text on gimp tutorial?
I still get weird spacing even after setting spacing to 1. It looks close to the example but not quite right.. Any suggestions?
Genial!
when u downscaled the circle where u made the colore fade and created a smaller one, how did u make the bigger one disapper. cause i still have the outlines of the bigger cricle when im drawing. also its lagging like crazy when i try to draw. thx for answer! nice video!
非常好的教程 ,通俗易懂
if I would like to find a course to add texts like this to photos so I can make something similar to an album cover what should I search for on udemy . would that be considered graphic design?
Okay, I have downloaded Learning Curve 4.0. I do not see any new fonts... What do I do now?
what version of gimp are you using in this vid?? Please response
It's version 2.8, as mentioned in the description. I'm using a custom theme that makes it appear different. That is linked as well if you'd like to use it.
