I totally agree amigo, Guatemala in general is soooo underrated just because some people believe we are thieves and/or criminals, we are not. We are one of the friendliest countries in Latin America, should you need help or directions, you can be sure there is a Guatemalan nearby to help. That’s how we are, our nature. I’m so glad you had a wonderful time in Atitlan, please come back when you want. This is my land, this is your land, this land was made for you and me.
Nothing like the taste of fresh coffee! La Cabana looks like a neat place to hang out. Love seeing all the mariposas! Also seeing a local celebrity. 😉The kayaking looked like a fun outing and your lunch has me salivating!
I'm from and grew up in santa cruz and it's a pleasure to watch this video from CA. Thanks for sharing your experience and it's absolutely a great quality video ❤️
I grew up in Pana and my grandparents lived in Santiago Atitlan. They had a convenient store, bakery, restaurant and rooms for rent. If you aloud me. I would like to add 2 more options. Those are 1. Mirador de San Anndres Semetabaj, where you have a clear view of the 3 volcanos, and luckily see paragliding or you yoursel paraglide down to Pana. 2. Visit Hotel Atitlan, which has beautiful botanical gardens, great view to the lake, great restaurant with guatemalan typical food, pool and jacuzzy. Great video by the way.
Thanks so much for this info! :) It must have been an amazing place to grow up, we found the whole area an absolute delight, the people are amazing. We are actually heading back for easter so will take you up on your recommendations for sure!! Thanks so much for watching :)

Great video Matt and Marti! Looks like you gave Lake Atitlan a real throrough work out. We only stayed for 3 days and it was certainly one of our regrets not staying longer. Love your editing too!
Thanks for sharing. Guatemala is so beautiful and rich. 12th producer of silver in the world and 20th producer of gold besides having massive reserves of nickel, jade and so many other natural resources. The Malvinas belong to Argentina, The Esequibo belongs to Venezuela and Belice belongs to Guatemala. Guatebella ! I hope to visit again soon
dont miss out on Casa Cakchiquel - Panajachel - el patrimonio cultural de Panajachel with the largest historical foto exhibition in Central America. I recommend it highly - Calle 14 de febrero, Panajachel
Even though Guatemala is much smaller than Mexico. Your top 10 here looks little more exciting to me 🙂....appears that there are more options for outdoor activities within a small country ............and as always your video is 👌
Lake Atitlan has so much to offer and everything is no more than a 20 minute boat ride away so it's always lovely to travel around there! Thanks for your support :)
Thanks for the comment! :) We were there at the end of Nov/Dec. They actually call Lake Atitlan the land of the eternal spring as the weather is fair all year round! This is one of the reasons we loved it there! You should be fine and will love it! :)
Estima-se que a profundidade deste lago não totalmente explorado seja de 340 mtrs. Só não é mais profundo que o Nahuel Huapi em Bariloche com quase 500 mtrs. Incrível.
Great list! I’ll be traveling there next month.
Can't wait to visit here, thanks for sharing 😍
