    My own review:
Why did I buy this bag?
Earlier I had a small accident with my usual backpack where I let my bag fall to the ground with one of my lenses inside unprotected. This caused a small tent to occur on my lens mount. To avoid this from ever happening again, I thought the best solution was to buy a dedicated photobag. I chose according to looks, size and honestly... according to name recognition. I knew Manfrotto was well known for quality bags so I didn't really consider any other manufacturers + it was the only bag that looked stylish yet ordinary.
I've been using this bag for roughly 2 months now. Here are the things I like and dislike.
    The good:
It looks good!It is made out of rugged materials, so It's probably gonna last me many years if not decades. It is spacious and the inside padding keeps all my gear safe. The interior is easily adjustable to my needs - lens sizes.I has a place to attach my traveltripod. The zippers are sturdy. It even has a tiny zipperlock for extra security.
The neutral: You can remove the interior walls and use this bag as normal bag, but it takes time and effort and you are left with a pretty uncomfortable bag.The sidestrap + pocket works to attach your tripod, but it's an additional step I never had to make with my old bag. There are additional straps beneath the bag.
The not so good: The shoulderstraps are made out of thick foam. It feels soft and comfortable, but after half an hour of walking I felt discomfort. My muscles between the shoulders and neck actually started hurting. And my bag wasn't even full of gear. The foam is simply too rigid and the straps are placed too close together. This bag doesn't have waiststraps. So it's not good for longer walks. It feels like you are carrying a box on your back.
For 220€ this bag falls short. I expected this bag to fulfill all my photography related needs for a bag, but it simply doesn't.
    So what are the alternatives?
Well, I've been using a pretty good alternative all this time it seems.
My go to bag for over 6 years now has been the Osprey Escapist 32. It's light, durable, fits my back like a glove, lots of pockets, I can fit my tripod on it without having to open and close any straps and it's spacious at 32L.
Whenever I went out with my camera I simply used a small shoulderbag inside my backpack that would fit 3 lenses + body. And I could always add more things on top, but they'd simply be unprotected.
The Osprey costs around 140€ + ~20€ for a cheap shoulderbag.
    My Conclusion
The Manfrotto Pro Light Backloader M is a sturdy bag that's designed for working professionals, who want's all their gear with them and protected, but it's not designed for long trips or walks. It's best used as bag to carry your gear to a shoot/event/setting and used it as station where you change your lens or swap out a flash etc.
Long trips in nature still require a bag that is first and foremost comfortable. It's best to leave that job to another bag. In my case I'll be using my Osprey Escapist 32 whenever I'm going on a photowalk, outdoor quick photoshoot or ride my bicycle. The Manfrotto is reserved for long stationary events or whenever I'm travelling by car and I'm contempt with leaving all my gear in the car minus 1 body + lens combo.

Nice quick video. I like the bag. I use the LowePro 450 AW II. The thing I don't like about it is it really looks like a camera backpack and it also has "wings" which can't be removed (to help with weight distribution). I am thinking of getting this bag, but if you use it as 100% camera, then the top access can access the very top gear (which will probably be the camera), right? At least in my LowePro my camera sits at the top in the middle.

I thought about the low pro 450 as well at the beginning but I been looking for more flexibility. Yes that’s correct you could access the camera trough the top zip if you wanted. I found the acces a bit small tho. Depends on camera brand you use I guess. However it’s doable tho

Thank you for testing the backpack. I'm thinking about the Thinktank BACKSTORY 15 a Manfrotto Pro Light Backloader M. How is the quality of the backpacks? Is it worth paying extra to Thinktank?

I’m sure the quality from the think tank backstory 15 will be as good as the Manfrotto one. I haven’t tried the thinktank one there more my opinion is purely based on my experience with the Manfrotto and I would buy it anytime again. If found the flexibility good then quality is great and the dividers have good stability.
The backpack looks good and fits easily 2 Fuji body’s plus several lenses a Dji mavic mini 2 plus controller. Plus a bunch of filters, batteries, a deity d3 mic my laptop 16inch and tripod if needed.
Hope that gives you can idea of the back pack

      @FlorianFrickel  Рік тому +1

Yes will fit. You can have the body plus 70-400 mounted in the middle and the other lenses can go around

Mounted or not the change that something could go wrong is always their if you transport camera gear tbh
