I love how Sukuna jokes about human’s attempt at categorizing power with the grades. Both he and the cursed spirit are technically special grade but he is so clearly in a different realm. Sukuna even with just 10% of his power (really like 5%) could pretty easily solo every known grade 1 sorcerer, which is the supposed strongest grade right under special
The difference between grade 1 and special grade in terms of sorcerers is massive tbh the strongest grade 1 would get no-diffed by the weakest special grade
sukuna is on a whole nother level, he’s easily the top of the top in terms of curses and sorcerers, if sukuna was never revived gojo would’ve had no challenge beating everyone who was currently alive

What makes special grade is the potential to take over countries. Hakari is strong in fights, but he would never have enough gas to threaten Japan. Geto could raise an army, Yuki could turn anything into a nuke, Gojo had infinity nukes, Yuta can collect CTs and has a special grade curse on his side

He assumed Itadori wanted to switch out with him and would do so. He therefore figured if he could lure the cursed spirit to where Megumi was, he could cause more trouble for Itadori who he figured would seize control of his body soon.

That wasn't a fight. That was Sukuna bullying Special Grade curse which was bullying and almost effortlessly killed the protagonist trio.
Savage way to show us the difference in power. Not to mention, how flawed the curse classification system is.
Think of it like the hurricane category system. It’s not meant to be a direct powerscaling system but to see how much of a threat the curse is to normal society. Cat 5 hurricanes mean max damage. That begins at 157 mph. So a hurricane at 500 mph is still technically cat 5 hurricane. That’s because they both do complete destruction, even if one is much stronger than the path. Special grade just means that they can conquer a nation if left unchecked. The special grade curse here would be able to conquer a nation. So would Sukuna. So they would be both special grade since they both can do that.
I just can't hate any villian in Jujustsu Kaisen...

During the finger bearer fight Sukuna refused to help and was forced by Yuji to switch, they explained it later when Sukuna tricked Yuji into the binding vow. not only that but Sukuna also consume a finger to increase his strength and pull out Yuji heart to stop him from coming back because Sukuna thought Yuji would be affraid of death.

I think I finally understand how Sukuna healed Itadori's hand by accident. The cursed spirit was throwing condensed cursed energy at Sukuna, but someone, competent enough, can cancel out cursed energy with positive energy or with reverse cursed energy. But reverse cursed energy can also heal and regenerate.
What I think happened was that Sukuna meant to cancel out the cursed energy that the spirit was threw at him with reverse cursed energy but by doing so subsequently and ACCIDENTALLY healed Itadori's hand as well.

it is quite nice (smart) from Sukuna to do the dirt job and nothing else. He had his little fun, managed to take back one finger and didn't even eat that breakfast as soon as he could.
At least for the first season it felt like this could grow in a symbiotic relationship where the two would kill each other as soon as they don't need each other. Sadly Yuji said "im tired boss" and everything went apeshit after this.
