I had forgotten about this band because I lost all my documents in my old computer. Now after 15 years I clearly remember my room at my mother's house. Lying in bed looking out through the window and listening to this song. I'm so glad I found them again.
I was 12 years old. Watching a video of these girls who looked like they were in their early 20s. I aspired to one day be as beautiful and as cool as they looked. They danced with so much grace. They weren’t necessarily great dancers, but the passion is what made you see how astonishing they were through the rhythms in such peaceful and delicate movements. My dream in that moment as I admired was to be just like them when I grew up. I am now 20 years old and I no longer have the passion in me to be like them. Now only this song reminds me of that dream. I would listen to this song over and over deeply hoping. Now it’s no where to be found and I feel sad for the 12 year old as she currently wishes while she listens.
I feel almost all of us have that moment of reflection; I understand that life happens and dreams are put on hold, but it's okay. You find new dreams, passions, experiences. I don't know what you're going through now, but I wish you the best, in your darkest and happiest moments. God bless
Can't fcking believe... I was like 13 years old in 2009 and played Counter Strike Source and then went to youtube and watched players montages with this song! Back then I Was so happy and never thought that childhood will disappear... Appreciate the moments in life! When you grow up, you will be drawn into routines and most of the good things will go away
A perfect way that I remember this song is in a camping when I was in the school, there was a seminary and it arrived to my hearth the beauty of nature of that place still remember, I know I will come back there and I'll see to me, me of past. Laughing and playing there.
Almost certainly inspired by Sigur Ros. _"(Icelandic pronunciation: [ˈsɪːɣʏrous] (About this soundlisten))[6] is an Icelandic post-rock band from Reykjavík, active since 1994. Known for their ethereal sound, frontman Jónsi's falsetto vocals, and their use of bowed guitar,[7] the band's music incorporates classical and minimal aesthetic elements"_
I do believe it is Jónsi! Jimmy Lavalle worked closely with Sigur Ros in the making of this album, including some of Jónsi's vocals. Jimmy even made it in Sigur Ros' studio in Iceland!
I like how this was listed in a group of song everyone just has to hate and i really like it. Think nonsensical electronic lyrics where the voice is more of an instrument instead of a message delivery system mixed with ambient tempo concepts done with pop instruments. That's the kind of thing i can appreciate personally, pushing boundaries and exploring something new like larry heard did with house music instead of just trying to make the rut in the beaten path a little deeper.
@Revalusion Yeah. It is a pity that some people do not hear/perceive it like that. Not that i give a fuck about what they think of the song, but still a pity. Sort of.
I want to go on a road trip and listen to this while like. Going down a long highway, just me and nothing else in my shitty truck that I'm sure to have.
Actually he's not in this..but members of his band are..with some other artists as well..but it was recorded in Sigur Ros's studio.. :-) the power of the internet :-) but yesm I agree there is an influence of him, another amazing artist as well..
The vocals on this song are done by the lead singer of a band from Iceland called Sigur Ros. Most of their songs are in Hopelandic, which is a made up language. It's basically just a bunch of gibberish. The purpose for it is so people don't get so caught up focusing on the lyrics; they can make up their own interpretation of what they think it means. So yeah, this song really doesn't have any real lyrics per se. If you Google it, a lot of websites say the lyrics are "suicide" over and over again, but that's not accurate. It's all in Hopelandic. So the answer to your question is, there really is no answer lol I hope this helps😊
i still have vivid memories of listening to this song while it was raining when i was a teenager. i still feel it when i hear it.
I love listening to this while it's raining too :)
Same, high on mdma
This morning I have heard it for the first time...and I simply love it!
Same! Did the same thing! I didn't know the lyrics back then though
same same same
This song makes me feel so many things at once, and I could probably only give half of them a name.
that's true

The dreams of yesteryear live on
That's heart rending to read , life doesn't work out the way we dream , for most of us anyway , but there are always new things to aim for
Complimenti a "The Album Leaf", questo brano è denso di armonia e sacralità.

@@OceanicAir815 yup! not exactly 'inspired by Sigur Ros'. it's a collaboration.
This album was recorded in Sigur Rós's studio in Iceland

Sounds like an ordinary song with one sound effect repeating in the background to me.

Same, I saw it like 14 years ago and I still remember it vividly specifically the line "there is nothing you can ever to make me love you any less"
obviously this features at least Jonsi of Sigur Ros...credit where its due.

@@Akiko-31 you don't know what you're talking about. It is blatantly clear it is Jonsi singing.
@@sugarsore Well let's just be grownups and we can both have our opinions and be gracious about it. Have a great day 😊

what language is it ? the vocals ?
It's a gibberish language called Hopelandic
Sounds a bit like Indonesian balinese and javanese folk orchestra music especially after 3:16

Not sure what you mean, are your speakers broken?
This would be a nice song if it didn't have that stupid noise
