- Being a staunch follower of the Sanathana Dharma and an ardent believer of the Bharatiya culture, it is not surprising that Sri Atal Bihari Vajpayee fell in love with Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba in the early 1970s. During the days when he would go as a devotee to have Baba's darshan, Swami took him by surprise telling him that he would one day be the Prime Minister of India! At that point in time, Vajpayee’s political party, the Jana Sangh, had just two seats in the 545-seat Indian Parliament!
Sri Vajpayee indeed went on to become the Prime Minister of India, three times. But the Bharat Ratna (Gem of India) always was a devotee first. He pleaded to Swami that he should get the opportunity to visit Him whenever he wished. In 2010, Swami visited Sri Vajpayee at his home in New Delhi and shared some unforgettable words with him. The passing of this great devotee in August 2018 also showed the kind of life he led!

Inspiring life of a great leader : 'true seeker of the Lord'! In one of his visits to Brindavan, I remember Sri. Vajpayeeji was seated in the front row of the Kalyana Mantapa. In early days,when Sri Atal bihari vajpey visited and had darsan of our Beloved lord and God Bhagavan Sri Satya Sai Baba,Swami told him that he would become a Prime Minister of India. Atalji and others were wondered and to the frank, they did not believe these words of Swami, as there were many greate and famous leaders in the line deserved and desired for that post.
However, the words of Swami became true and Sri Vajpeyji became Prime Minister of India in 1996 & 1997.
